S & A Cigars

Have been a few times since first attempting. Absolutely killer selection, mostly friendly clientele and pricing on regular production sticks that just blows my mind. Will keep returning.

My wife and I moved to Watertown a few months ago and I couldn’t be happier to have found this place. S&A smoke shop is the best cigar shop I have ever been to, and for someone who smokes cigars as often as I do, that is a bold but truly accurate statement. Not only is their selection amazing, but the owners are incredibly welcoming, the guests there are too, and the lounge area is 2^nd to none. If you’re in the area, you need to stop by this place for a smoke…

I love S&A and find them to be the friendliest cigar shop around.
I am always greeted right away and get prompt service. They carry a ton of brands of cigars, as well as my favorite: Drew Estates.
All of the cigars I buy from here are never dry and super fresh. They even give you a «humidor» type bag when you leave and your cigars will stay fresh in the bag for a few weeks.
I’ve been to other cigar shops and nothing tops S&A, they have the best selection and service around!

This is where I go for all my quality cigar needs when I visit family back east. They have a great selection of humidors and other tobacco products as well. The owners here are genuine mom and pop so they get my support!

My only problem is not enough time to stop by!

I’m reluctant to give S&A 5 stars, not because they don’t deserve it, but because I want to keep it a secret. Barry below gave an excellent review, and I want to add that John and his son Steve make everyone feel special. A no snob zone it its, where the only thing that counts is your first Oliva Serie V with guys that know how good it is and why it is so good. No, this isn’t a gas station or 7 – 11. John has a vast humidor with premium brands that are hand-​made… At unbelievalbe non-​snob prices.
And if you want to have a good conversation about any subject with friends you look forward to seeing, this is the place to go. But please keep it a secret!

So I have to say, I am highly pleased after a couple visits here.
Why?
Well, it is simple. They arent snobs!
i will explain.
A lot of places you go (and this means small specialty shops, not smoke shops in particular).
But often times, you go into a small specialty shop, and they assume you know everything. Since they cater to enthusiasts, aficionados, and experts, they often dont seem to ‘welcome’ new people. And this can be a problem with gaining new customers and encouraging the hobby or brand.
Well, S&A I have found is NOT like this, and it is a GREAT thing.
I recently (This past summer), tried a couple cigars at charity golf tournaments. I enjoyed it, but did not know much about them, choosing, different kinds, brands, etiquette, etc. You can do research online and read, but you have to take it with a grain of salt. Most often, it is learning from an ‘expert’ that helps you find your way.
Well, when I went into S&A i told them I was new, I was learning. They helped me. (I think it is a father and son, but there was a younger and older gentleman that both helped me at different times). They explained things in a simple manor to me, made suggestions that were reasonably priced, and helped me with accessories, even showing me how to use things.
This was great service, as it helped give me a base, and they did not make me feel like an idiot. they understood I was new to the hobby, and helped. A lot of small shops would just scoff at you, and make fun of you for not knowing or being an expert. This is the wrong approach, and I am glad to see S&A does not take this approach.

I had a need for some good quality cigars the other day so I had to make a trip to a local store. I normally prefer to pick up cigars from those tobacco shops in small towns off state highways, which always seem to have the best prices. S & A has a good selection but there are definitely cheaper places. They only show prices by the cigar, but you get a 10% discount if you buy an entire box, so be ready to do math in your head if you buy by the box. They also don’t have any cheap cigars. Nothing was priced below $ 5. The parking nearby is all metered parking, but at least in Watertown the meters take nickels and dimes. Also, note that drivers in Watertown don’t really care about crosswalks
