The rating is more for the hotel staff both the front desk and housekeeping. I stay at quite a few hotels over the course of a calendar year and have a habit of leaving my phone charger in the room when I check out. 4 missing chargers later and countless conversations with housekeeping’s «lost & found» dept,… this is the only hotel that has actually found a charger that I left behind upon checkout. In addition, to finding my charger, the hotel actually mailed it to me as well! So kudos to the housekeeping and front office staff! Thank you! As far as a hotels, this is one of the few decent places to stay in and around Watertown though I thought it was a little pricy,.

I’ve been coming here for work over the years, and one place I have stayed at many times is the — Holiday Inn Express in Watertown, Wisconsin. I like to stay at this nice little hotel, as it’s quite near the manufacturing plant where I need to go to for work. A few things I like about this place is — 1. It’s close to work. 2. It’s clean. 3. It’s safe… I don’t have to worry about getting robbed! And believe me, I’ve stayed, & worked in some very dangerous places across the U.S., at one time or another… 4. There are restaurants, & bars that are close by this hotel. 5. There is Super Walmart, & a Factory Outlet mall less than a mile away. Let’s say you forgot like your BvD’s…All I have to do is jump into the company vehicle & drive myself down the road to get what I need. How convenient! 6. There is also free breakfast… and I’m talkin’ about regular stuff… You know, — eggs, breakfast meats, pancakes, cereals, pastries, oatmeal, bagels, yogurt, fruit, coffee… etc. Not just someone throwing down a box of donuts, & saying«here you go»! 7. They have a very small workout room & pool… if I have the urge to exercise a little, I can do so in this very small room. It’s not much, but it’s better than nothing. 8. There is free cookies & bananas in the lobby everyday for a snack! They serve awesome cookies here. Also on Tuesday late afternoon/early evening, they served free drinks(Soda & Beer), as well as some light sandwiches. 9. The Holiday Inn Hotels also has a rewards program. When you stay on their properties, you can accumulate points. The points you can get free stuff, or free hotel night stays on their properties. How cool is that? My room came with a fridge, large screen t.v., coffee maker, hair dryer, iron & ironing board… I especially like the fridge, that way I can store my beer, water, or soda… a very nice touch! There is also free high speed internet service here, that is how I can be on Unilocal! Lots of free parking… and there is no parking fees to park your car in the private parking lot! Yay! If you ever have to come to these parts of Wisconsin… the Holiday Inn Express here is a pretty good place to stay… check ‘em out gang!

I would like to give this a higher rating. The place is relatively nice. Very friendly, helpful staff. The rooms are spacious, clean. I stay at Holiday Inn Expresses pretty frequently, so I can compare apples to apples. Here are the negatives: The bathroom didn’t appear super clean. There was a hair(yes, one of THOSE hairs) on the floor of the bathroom. The bottom of the tub was gray and dirty-looking(although I’m pretty sure it was clean). The floor had a crack and a hole in it. Otherwise, the room was nice. The breakfast didn’t have as much selection as Holiday Inn Expresses usually have, but it was still good: eggs, bacon, biscuits & gravy, packaged oatmeal, yogurt, milk, coffee, cold cereal, etc. I would have given this hotel 4 stars, but the hair on the bathroom floor is a foul.

The night staff is great and the hotel is ok. I stay here every time I’m in Watertown visiting family and always have had a good night sleep.

Visiting lovely Watertown, Wisconsin for a wedding filled my head with images of motels that had not been renovated since 1967, attached to Big Boy restaurants. We were pleasantly, happily surprised to find that the Holiday Inn was so easy to get to(right inside the city limits) and had fantastic customer service. The room and lobby were immaculate, and we found we were lucky enough to get the only king room with a flat screen tv(put in place at the request of a recurrent long-term guest). The bed was so comfortable with the perfect amount of blankets and four pillows, two soft and two firm(with the type embroidered on the pillowcases!). The shampoo and lotion provided by the hotel smelled like gingerbread, and they were very happy to honor my request for extra coffee for the maker. There is also a workout room, a pool and hot tub. When I complimented the housekeeper on the hotel, she said they were preparing to go through a massive renovation which will include an elevator(there is currently not one, which was a bit of a hassle even though it’s only two floors) and new carpeting, tile and fixtures throughout. It’s hard to imagine them improving, but I bet it will be great. If I ever have a reason to go back to Watertown, I wouldn’t think of staying anywhere else.
