Unfortunately, this incredible Thai food restaurant is right next-door to the Jazzercise center! I tried it the first day I came to Jazzercise and my husband and I absolutely loved it! The price is not bad for the large portion sizes and you get a free spring roll, which was really fresh and hot! Now, my husband and I are spicy food nuts!!! But let me tell you, this is the hottest Thai food we have ever had! I tried to order medium plus and she talked me into just plain medium, which was so hot, we couldn’t believe it! The next time, I ordered mild plus and it still had plenty of heat! Both times, I asked the lady to suggest meals for me and both times, she didn’t disappoint! I finally picked up a menu this time so I can keep track of which meals we’ve tried, because I like to be adventurous and try something different every time. I rate them with my smiley face system. :) I wish I could remember which dishes we’ve tried but all I can remember is the pad Thai with shrimp(and they did not skimp on the shrimp!) which was incredible! We had something else with Ginger and it was excellent but I can’t remember what it was. I will keep better track next time.

First time eating thai food and wow I am impressed. I’ve have multiple different asian cuisines from korea, China and Japan. Upon first walking into the restaurant you can tell it’s run and owned by authentic thai people, a very nice woman helped me take my orders and she was so sweet and clearly knowledgeable of the food. I purchased 3 items. One was pineapple fried rice with chicken. The portion was HUGE! The chicken is so tender which a lot of other asian foods seem to over cook it. And there was plenty chicken to have a piece with every bite. I also got the mild version which is perfect for people who want kick but not fire. The second item I got was for my wife and she wanted the pad kee mao with pork. She got the medium spice and it’s 3x the hotness compared to mine. Again, generous portions of pork with a huge amount of food. Needless to say she loves it. The last thing on my list is the Thai tea… phenomenal…nothing left to say about that. I’ll be back for sure and I’d recommend you all try it.

I’ll be honest and say that I was extremely skeptical of this place when the gf suggested that we eat at this place based off of the overwhelmingly positive Unilocal reviews. Not only is it in a ghost strip mall, but also we were the only patrons in the restaurant at a typical lunch time(12:15pm on a Saturday). The ambiance is nothing to call home about either as one of the workers was casually sitting at a table across from us looking at his ipad the entire time we were dining. Now that I have all of those negatives things out of my system, I have to say that this is one of the best thai places I’ve ever dined at. Not only was the value amazing($ 8 for a main dish, soup, and spring roll), but the food was pretty spot on in terms of taste. The gf and I ordered shrimp pad thai(mild, which was definitely spicy enough) and green curry w/pork and loved both of our dishes. The shrimp was extremely fresh, the portion of noodles to bean sprouts to sauce was really good and the portion was so big that I couldn’t finish it. The green curry had a good proportion of veggies to pork and was full of flavor(again the portion was so huge that we brought over 50% of it home). All in all with tax and tip, we ended up paying only $ 16 for the entire meal, which in most places would have just been the cost of a green curry dish. If I’m ever in town again, I will definitely be coming back to try other dishes on their menu.

We were in town for dance convention and found this Thai restaurant not far from our hotel. It’s located in a shopping strip. We were the only ones in there until a few more customers came and then a lot of take out orders, so that was a good sign. I wish I would’ve read the review beforehand regarding the spice levels. We are a mild family but even that was too spicy for us! I could see seeds in our dishes so that was a warning sign! But, the food was really good, shrimp fried rice and chicken pad si ew. The spring rolls were delicious and egg drop soup was yummy too.

I’ll start off by saying it’s not the most cozy, decorated place to dine-in, although they do have 2 fish tanks that the husband takes great pride in and is very knowledgeable about. But if you prefer your food on the go, their business seems mainly reliant on carry-outs. With that being said, it’s one of the best Thai restaurants I’ve ever been to. Portions are so generous, prices are very reasonable, and all dine in meals come with BOTH a cup of soup and spring roll(Except on Sunday, soup not included with meal)…it’s a wonder how they profit at all. Definitely a mom and pop type of place, the husband and wife are always there, and when their son is not in school, he helps out too(he’s really good at keeping your water glass full! :-) I’m a vegetarian, so I always order my dish with tofu rather than meat. The tofu is firm in texture, yet absorbs their sauce flavors very well, making it extra tasty. The veggies are always fresh and vibrant in color. My husband eats meat and has enjoyed their fried rice meals. I must warn(as they typically do), I normally can handle«Extra Extra Spicy» at other Thai places, but I can only handle«medium» at the most here. Their peppers are actually sent from Thailand and are super potent! I’ve taken several friends/family here and haven’t heard any negative feedback. They remember my order(yes, I’m boring and order the same thing wherever I go), and are pleasant to have a conversation with if you choose to engage with them. Do yourself a favor and give them a try!

I love the owner here. She is the sweetest lady ever. The prices are extremely reasonable for what you get when you dine in. It’s about $ 8 for soup, a spring roll and your main dish which is always a large portion. I normally get the kow pad with tofu and a hot and sour soup. Everything is great. The inside is small, you can tell by walking in that this is mainly a carry out type of place but I don’t mind that and will normally dine in anyway. All in all, this is my go to Thai spot in the area.

This was our first Thai experience. I ordered the chicken fried rice with green beans, peppers, onion, and spinach, and my wife ordered the shrimp pad Thai both were ordered with medium spice. We started eating and the spice hit us right away, we couldn’t bear to eat another bite, so we called back and asked if we could take it back and get it with no spice. There was some confusion, but we ended up taking it back and tried it with no spice, and mild spice on the side. After this, the food was great!

Excellent Pad Thai. It’s extremely hot. Mild was way too hot. I got the combination which came with soup and egg roll. That was excellent to. This is definitely a carry out place even though it has a few tables.

Sooooo good! Very fresh vegetables… not overly sweet sauces… their mild is other restaurant’s medium. Have tried many other restaurants… by far the best… in the Atlas Plaza by VG’s supermarket.

What is wrong with you people? 12:30 and I am the only one here. Food is great. People are nice. Don’t waste your money on a chain restaurant. Wish they were in Troy.

I have always hesitated when rating places 5 stars because to me this means excellent, 4.0, and top-notch. I am giving Thai Legend this because they exceeded my expectations on so many levels. First off, I am not rating on the appearance of the dining room because it is rather bland with a few rows of tables. It is decent for sitting down but not fine dining. I did sit down and was pleasantly surprised with how nice the food was presented and the large portions. I ordered the pad thai with chicken. It was made to perfection. The egg roll was crunchy and the vegetables were not overdone but just right. I added extra veggies because I enjoy my pad thai that way and my bill was under 10 $. The owner is personable and I noticed that everyone that was ordering take out was in and out quickly. I must say I will be ordering more take out and the occasionally sit down in the future.

My wife and I moved to the area about 9 months ago and this is the first time we’ve ordered Thai food. Thai legend was just as good if not better than any other pad thai I’ve had before. The pad Thai curry with chicken was really good.

The two-star caption(«Meh. I’ve experienced better.») is almost eerily accurate for my visit to Thai Legend. They do have some things going for them, and it’s important to underline those points, as I’m not unhappy with the place… it’s just that in terms of other Thai places in the area, they do, in fact, come up a bit short where it counts. Let’s start with the good things, though: they’re quite inexpensive, comparatively speaking. Dinner portions are fairly large, and they’re only $ 8, which *includes* a free spring roll. And let’s talk about that spring roll for a minute: pretty good. Actually, I enjoyed the spring roll better than my entrée, but hold off on that for a minute. $ 8 is probably the most inexpensive I’ve seen dinnertime Thai food for in the entire area. To include a not-too-shabby spring roll alongside really does accentuate the value of the deal. The spring roll had good texture, and I even liked its included dipping sauce. It’s probably even better when eaten on premises. The folks you interact with are very nice folks, whether it’s on the phone or in person. Very warm, helpful, and ready to answer your questions. Not hard to understand them, either. The facility itself is nothing to write home about, but that can be said of 80% of all Thai places you’ll find. Strip-mall-diner atmosphere is about the best you can hope for, and this isn’t really any different. No big deal. The food is where the two-stars comes from. Quite frankly, it’s a disappointment. I’m *not* saying that it’s inedible, or that there was something wrong/toxic with it… I’m simply saying that the depth of flavor isn’t there, pretty much at all(Pad Curry [chicken, medium], for those who are wondering). It functions as food, but the number of different vegetables is wanting, they’re overdone(losing a good deal of the crunchiness that they’d have if correctly cooked), and the real issue is the coconut milk/red curry sauce that’s pretty one-note, indeed. Spice level was fine, but as much as I want to absolutely love it for $ 8, there’s no way that I could see myself not spending an extra dollar or two in order to step up to Hot Pepper Thai’s version, or better yet, Thai Taste’s version. In fact, Thai Taste being temporarily closed for remodeling is sort of what spurred on the trying of different Thai places in the area. I want to like it more than I do, really. Nice folks, inexpensive, drive’s the same… but the actual star of the show is less-than-impressive.

I had been meaning to try Thai Legend for some time, but will admit I was disappointed that the previous Thai restaurant was no longer there. The staff was very friendly and attentive. However, the other staff that had nothing to do had set up shop at a table kitty corner from us and were actually annoying. One person was watching a movie on a tablet and the other was playing a game on their phone. I wasn’t expecting 5 star service, just some common sense. Perhaps they should invest in a break room or at least some earbuds. We started off with an appetizer, the fish cakes with cucumber sauce. I couldn’t even eat it, it tasted like bad fish that had been frozen and fried. I was hoping they made them fresh, but this wasn’t the case. I like trying new things, I guess it’s to be expected that it won’t always be great. But, I wasn’t going to let that ruin my meal. My friend and I shared beef lo mein and chicken fried rice. The spice level was dead on with what we wanted. Like most Asian places, the portions were plentiful. With every entrée, you receive a free spring roll, which had that crispy pop with the first bite — yum! We had a ton left over and it was just as good once reheated at home. To me, atmosphere plays a big roll in the dining experience… with this being said, I probably wouldn’t eat here again, but would definitely order take out. Or, a nice feature is their delivery service.

Doing some Unilocal updates and need to mention Thai Legend. I have mixed feelings about the Legend. On the one hand, I like having the restaurant to myself or nearly to myself when we visit. The restaurant is small and if several tables were filled at once I am not sure how long it would take to get the best Thai food west of Airport Road. Now you know, if you are looking for great Thai food with friendly staff and want to support a much better than average local restaurant visit Thai Legend. Mild is spicy, Medium is hot, and hot is really really hot.

I’ve been meaning to give Thai Legend a try, and finally got a chance to today. I had a pretty good feeling about the place from the reviews I was reading, and when I called in my order, that continued through the very nice woman who probably called me «honey» six times. She said it might be up to a half hour, because they were busy. So, yet another good sign on a Thursday. Super nice. I’ve never been to the ghost town strip mall that Thai Legend is located in, but the lack of other stores made it easy to get in and out of. Handwritten signs in the window informs customers that spring rolls are free with every entrée, and party platters are available. Inside, I was greeted immediately, and I’ve gotta say, she seemed genuinely happy to see each customer. It wasn’t in an unsettling«they’re so dead, she’s happy to see anybody» way. It was clear that every customer was truly appreciated. While she was getting my order, I noticed an unusual candy dish at the register. It was full of candy imported from Thailand — an absolute treat. I opted for my two benchmark dishes: pineapple fried rice, and chicken pad khing. The fried rice would have been the best ever, if there hadn’t been a couple of dry patches in the rice. It was loaded with chicken and pineapple, a perfect curry flavor, and big pieces of fresh green onion. The chicken pad khing… oh, wow… To all of my fellow pad khing enthusiasts: welcome home. Bite after bite bursting with fresh grated ginger! The brown sauce wasn’t full of sugar — in fact, it was a bit on the sour side, but set off by all of that ginger, it was a beautiful thing. Fresh peppers, mushrooms, chicken… not a thing came out of a can or freezer here. The best, best, BEST part: ordering my food«medium» didn’t mean«add more crushed peppers». They’re totally, completely, wonderfully legit. Now… those spring rolls… I don’t like spring rolls, but my wife does, so I picked up a few extra. I should have picked up more. Saying they’re the best I’ve had isn’t adequate. They’re big, the vegetables are shredded and fresh, it’s not a big wad of cabbage, and the sauce… I’m pretty sure they make the sauce in-house. I was picking up honey, soy, maybe a touch of ginger… If someone walked in and ordered a few spring rolls as a meal, I’d totally understand. Heck… the portions are so huge, you could add an extra spring roll for a buck, and split a single entrée with someone, and not leave hungry.
