Started off terrible, ended off amazing. Friday, February 26, 2016 My fiancé and I had stopped in for lunch at Bertucci’s in the Waterbury mall. We had never been before and honestly the food was pretty good. When we got there the hostess did not look happy to be there, at all. I even said to my fiancé, if she would just smile her day would be so much better and go by quicker. We sat and were greeted by a server who didn’t even introduce himself. Just goes«Hello, what can I get the two of you to drink?» Well okay then. We order sautéed chicken piccata and the brick oven roasted chicken. He orders a Sprite and I a ginger ale. The ginger ale was flat, so I expressed that to him and asked kindly for a water with lemon instead. When we got our bill I noticed that he still charged us for the ginger ale that I didn’t even drink, who cares right? So our bill came out to $ 38.67. We put a line thru the tip and left $ 6.00 in cash. Two days later, I look at our credit card statement and see a charge for Bertucci’s of $ 48.67. Immediately I know something is off here. I called and spoke with the manager Jim, who tells me that he gets these calls frequently and that 90% of the time it’s an honest mistake, where the server accidentally swipes the wrong card with the wrong ticket. I told him that I truly hope that is the case here, but I believe other wise. When I started going into further detail he started to agree with me that we have a serious problem here. He found«our» credit card slip and kindly asked us to stop in to have this resolved. When we got there he reassured us that they would be taking all the right measures to get this resolved, a long with promising us that he would be fired for his actions. Finally he brings us «our» credit card merchant copy and we both were in disbelief. Christopher had reprinted our credit card receipt, added a $ 10 tip put a new total of $ 48.67 and had even forged our signature, which was just a scribble and looked nothing like my fiancés. I’m writing this review just in case someone else has been affected by Christopher’s fraudulent actions and in hopes of protecting anyone else that crosses paths with the server Christopher. We have contacted our credit card company, Bertucci’s corporate management and filed a fraud report with the Waterbury police department. I do want to add that we loved the food so much and trusted that they fired Christopher that we just came in for the second time 3÷5÷16 and the hostess this time was wearing that beautiful smile they should always have on. Was very nice and actually told us about the lunch menu. Our server Damien was beyond amazing. Very thoughtful, laughed with us and was exactly what you expect a server to be. Thank you to the management at Bertucci’s for doing the right thing and for keeping the staff that compliments your restaurant!

I have been here a few times now and the first couple times I was satisfied. Food is about what you would expect from a chain restaurant. Not bad especially considering the prices. I was here a couple weeks ago and there was actually fruit flies flying above us at our table. Needless to say that completely grossed us out. However, I have chosen to give 4 stars because of our fantastic waitress. She was a middle aged woman working the lunch shift. She came over to our table so many times to make sure everything was just right. We overheard a woman at the table across from us being very rude to her and she was nothing but kind and accommodating back to her. This waitress seems to really go above and beyond and she was so kind that I would come back just because of her. While waiting for our food we overheard(what I believe to be) a manager giving helpful tips and advice to the waitress and waiter that were working that day. He was being very respectful and nice to his staff which is always great to see.

Wow! I’ve read a lot of negative reviews here but so far my experiences have been positive so I keep coming back. The bread and oil is a tasty appetizer. I usually get the cheese raviolis which has worked out well, especially for lunch. It’s perfectly sized and priced. I did order a glass of wine once and it was very over-priced, though. It was probably around the holidays. Overall, I’m impressed. I wish they’d bring back the play pizza dough for the kids!

I work at the Brass Mill Center and occasionally order Bertuccis for lunch, never having an issue. I decided to come here for dinner tonight for the new Bruschetta pizza. I wish I didn’t. When we arrived, it was 6:30pm on a Sunday. I know they close at 8pm, and they damn well showed it. We were seated and I already got the vibe from the hostess that they were annoyed we were coming in «so late.» As for our waiter, I can’t even put into words how terrible he was. He came over and instead of introducing himself, immediately says, «ok what do you want?» I wanted a beer but screw that, asked for a water with lemon instead. He walks away, comes back with 2 waters, no lemon. Before I can even ask for it, he walks away with no eye contact. 5 min later, asks for our food order. Told him the pizza and also asked if we can have lemon, he said sure and walked away. Through out the wait for our food, he walked by us numerous times, never once giving us our lemon or making eye contact. He dropped off a few napkins at our table during that time but he walked away too quickly for me to even get his attention about the lemon. Finally our food comes, mind you we heard the kitchen yell, «Chris, table 5 is ready!» And he replies back, «they can wait 2 minutes!!!» We knew this was us, because he finally came out about 2 min later with our food. At least that was my way of finding out his name since he didn’t feel the need to introduce himself before hand. As we were eating, he came over 5 min later asking if we want our pizza wrapped. Wtf??? We just got it!!! I was thrown back by this that I just said yes anyways. Then he immediately proceeded to hand us our check as we are still eating. I guess we weren’t allowed to get dessert. To make a long story short, I don’t think I will be coming back to this location unless it’s take out. I could keep going on about our waiter, but I will be writing a 50 page book if I did that. Let’s just say, I’m that customer who tips 20% or more. He received 75 cents from me. Good luck Chris.

I’d give it 5 stars if they weren’t a chain, but berry via made this Italian happy last night, my wife and I went had a great dinner! I had crab cakes and rigatoni with meatballs, my wife had chicken scampi. The manager made sure we were good, all good came out on time and all was great!

I truly like Bertucci’s, but the service here mostly by our waiter was terrible. Was here a few months ago. Not only were we rushed, but the waiter was rude. After this visit I will never go back to this one. I am sure I am not the only one who feels this way, or has been treated bad. Although the manager was nice and discounted our check. Having a waiter like that ruins the whole atmosphere.

At the beginning every thing was going great. The waiter was attentive and service was quick, unfortunately that ended once the appetizers came out. After that I didn’t see my waiter again until almost done with my meal, which meant no refills or anything else we needed. It was just two of us so we had a lot of food left. Our waiter gave us the take out containers as well as our dessert to go, then gave us a story about there being no bags in the kitchen area and kindly told us to get one at the front. That’s right-we had to carry our to go containers up to the front and ask for a bag on the way out. So much for customer service, the waiter could have gone 20 ft to the front and got the bag for us. The food: Bread and oil: good Appetizer: excellent Entrée: just okay Dessert: excellent

Omg. No exaggeration the pizza was horrible. Store bought frozen is much better. When I asked the waitress if they allow the dough to rise she was clueless. I later peaked in the kitchen and saw a bunch of young guys who lacked responsibility and obviously did not know what they’re doing. The sauce tasted like rague there was not enough mozzarella and hardly any toppings. The crust was just awful. I don’t know how this place stays in business. Btw the service was great. Our waitress was wonderful.

We went to the brass mill bertuccis around 4 pm on a Monday and ordered soups entrees and salads. The soup came lukewarm so we sent it back. Then, before we received our reheated soup, our entrees arrived. Each entrée was cold in parts and warm in other parts. as if they were microwaved. My spaghetti was cold but the sauce was hot. The eggplant was lukewarm. We decided to cancel our food and paid for our drinks. When I spoke with Sue the manager on duty she shrugged her shoulders thanked me for telling her and that was that. They didn’t even offer to pay for the drinks!

I’ve never had a problem here. I found a dish I didn’t like but ten that I do like so it’s impossible for me to get the same thing every visit. Every employee is helpful and friendly. They all give wonderful recommendations. I can’t wait to try the pumpkin spice martini. They offer wonderful dishes as seasonal options. Such as lobster through the summer.

I do like the food. It is good food. But it’s far to expensive for the size of the portions. I honestly thought that I had accidentally been given a child size portion. The waitresses are very nice.

We were here after a funeral with a private party of 25. They seated us in the back which was great and allowed us some privacy. Waitstaff was tremendous. Some of the best I’ve ever had. Could not have been nicer and more attentive. Food was excellent. Had rigatoni with sausage and peppers, eggplant, and grilled chicken with potatoes and green beans.

I’ve been here a few times and had good service with good food. One of my friends and I came here today for drinks and lunch. Our server must have been new because she seemed very frazzled, not knowing what the happy hour specials were and even pulled out her phone to see if she had a picture of it! We asked for a few more minutes to look at the menu and she gave us about 30, no exaggeration. We ordered drinks and she ran away without asking for our food order. When she finally took our food order, it took about an hour for it to come out. I have always had fast service and it wasn’t busy at all, so I’m assuming she forgot to put it in for a bit. We ordered one lasagna and one salad! I can’t imagine it took that long. Also, my lasagna was supposed to come with a soup or salad, and I was never asked which I wanted or even offered it. I’m assuming she didn’t even know it came with it or knew much about the menu in general. When asking for another drink, it took another 15 minutes to come out. We were there for 2 and a half hours! Luckily we had a lot to catch up on, but we were very frustrated with the fact that our server had disappeared consistently throughout our lunch. However, this one experience will not make me stray from the restaurant. The food never disappoints!

I enjoyed the food a lot. The server and staff were nice. I didn’t care for the seating too much. The booth seats didn’t go all the way against the wall and my phone fell in between the wall and the booth seat. One of the staff members practically had to tear apart the seat to get it back. Apparently this happens often. The staff was very helpful in getting it back though. Over all good restaurant good food. I have the Tuscan wings and margarita pizza. Both was great.

Rude front-end staff. Ignored by staff for ten minutes even after asking someone who looked like a manager. They weren’t even very busy. Was about to leave but my family was very hungry and convinced me we should stay. Our waitress finally came to the table and she was lovely, but the food was extremely salty, salmon and chicken were overly cooked and dry, and the lettuce was not very fresh. So disappointing. The front end staff needs to be taught that a smile, a nice greeting, and paying attention to a paying customer is part of their job.

I’ve never had an issue at this particular Bertucci’s. Everybody knows we go for the oil and bread and they always make sure we are stocked up! I order something different almost every time I come here, but the food is almost always amazing and I’ve never had a problem. The service is fast and attentive. The only complaint I have is the restaurant is set up kind of weird and to me the aisles seem small. So if you have a loud party near you, it’s kind of hard to not hear them, but then again it’s in the mall, I don’t expect much! Definitely would recommend this chain if you’re hungry!

Great crispy, non-greasy, and thin pizza, really worth going to! Most pizzerias the crust is too thick and too greasy but this one is just perfect!!! Great for kids my daughter loves when they give her dough to play with!

I gave this place two stars solely based on the horrible experience I had there yesterday. I called about a week ago to schedule a surprise party for a friend. I explained that I’d need a table in the back with about 20 people for 7:00 p.m. I told the staff that anyone that arrived from 7 – 7:30 should be treated as guests and that I would arrive with the guest of honor sometime between 7:30 — 7:45 pm. I walk in with the guest of honor and the receptionist says, after I tell her my name…, «Oh, party of… a lot?» I go… umm yeah? Thanks for ruining it! Then the TWO waitresses we had(and we didnt even have 20 people) were so slow. My food nearly came out before my drink did. They dropped the ball in the customer service department. Food was good as always, though.

Given the fact that a.) It’s in the Waterbury mall and b.) It’s a chain, this Bertuccis is pretty good. I’ve never had a problem with crappy food or service here, so what more can you ask for. PS: my favorite is the Silano pizza.
