Didn’t have slices or breaded chicken for chicken parm. Teen working counter said 30 min for breaded chicken so I decided to do grilled chicken for my parm sub. Paid for it then waited and waited, in that time a pizza came up for slices, waited some more. Cashier would handle money then touch food multiple times while I waited for this parm sub. About 25 min later it was finished, skimpy on the chicken and cheese. What a waste! Maybe calling in advance is the trick. Either way I would pass.

Went back and tried again, the pizza was very good. And the service was a lot better. I give it three stars !

This place has gotten worse and worse over the years. The quality of the pizza is garbage amd if they make a mistake with your order it’s your problem. The two fake italian guys that own it have always been rude and won’t ever own up to any mistakes. I used to order all the time years ago, I loved it but the quality went down the drain. Their dough is also always frost bitten now, disgusting

Not only great subs and pizza, but they are willing to re-make specials from last week that aren’t always on the menu! Way to go guys! Also appears to be new owners and they have spruced up the front counter area. Keep up the good work. Would rather eat at family owned non-chain restaurants in town all day long over the alternatives!

Best subs in Washington Twp. Try the Italian, for sure you will love it. We order from here about 1x per month and have been pleased with service, price and amount of food. Much better than a chain sub shop.

I was told that they had new owners recently, but that everything was the same. Too bad, because I didn’t really care for their pizza. The garlic knots, free with coupon, were just knots of dough with a little garlic brushed on them, nothing special. If one likes Jets pizza, or Buddys, don’t bother with this one. Average sauce, too little of it, with not much cheese.

Tried to order a sub during the lunch hour. They had NOBREAD and said it would be 30 minutes to bake it. A sub shop that cant make a sub? Yikes.

We stopped at Tomato Basil for lunch today. Barely got in the door when we were abruptly informed they were totally swamped with Kentucky Derby catering orders… and what it is that you wanted? Taken aback by less than acceptable hospitality … We promptly left… And won’t be back — your poor planning and understaffing wasn’t our fault. But thanks… we went down to Chili’s on 26 Mile and had a fantastic lunch. If you hadn’t been so rude we would have missed out.

The subs you get at Tomato and Basil are simply the best. Super fresh bread and great quality meats and cheeses. We also love to get the family size pasta dinners. Our family of 5 has eats dinner and always have enough left to send with with the kids for lunch the next day.

Update review: May 2016 We are going here again. No longer charge fee for cc purchases. I think there are new owners. They have updated inside, looks good. Food good. We are back as a customer. I’ve been going to Tomato & Basil’s for years… always good pizza and service. A couple weeks ago I was going thru receipts and noticed they charge a «service fee» when you pay by credit card. They do not have anything posted at the cash register regarding this. I think they are not being transparent with customers. If you want to charge a fee when paying by credit card, fine, post it so that you notify customers of this. Dont sneak it on the bill. Bad business. As much as I like there pizza, I may think twice about returning… very disappointing as generally they have always been very good with customer service over the years.

Subs were great but we ordered pizza too and it was burnt on the bottom. No one was able to eat any crust. Kind of a let down.

Awesome subs. Hot Italian made hugo style. One amazing sub. Pizza is greasy but also very good too, new York style. Prices are very fair.

A great small pizza place tucked in a strip mall next to a subway. It has a great za’. The crust is really good, and for lunch you can’t beat the price. I suggest it for lunch or any time you need pizza.

I’ve had this place bookmarked for a while now and finally made my way out to Romeo and stopped in for a pizza today. I can’t speak for everything there, but I ordered the New York style pizza and it was delicious. Crispy and very tasty crust, great sauce, just ok cheese. I wouldn’t say better than supinos as another reviewer said, but supinos sets a pretty high bar in my opinion. The crust is similar to, as good as, and a bit thicker than supinos. It’s the sauce and cheese that really makes supinos better(this is just my personal preference, tomato and basil’s sauce is still very good). With that being said, tomato and basil’s pizza is definitely a 5 star pizza and the guy making the pizza(I’m assuming he’s the owner) was very friendly. I like seeing owners who are passionate and actually care enough to work at their restaurants. That usually means you are much more likely to receive a consistent product, unlike the franchise pizza places. Overall it’s a great little hidden place that is sure to satisfy even the pickiest. I’ll be back to try some other menu items for sure.

Thin crust tomato & basil pizza at this take-out only* joint is very special. It is VERY lightly dusted with Parmesan, and is the type of pie common in Northern Italy. Cheese lovers can go for their Three cheese Bianca, which is a white pizza. Better yet — get both — they go great together. Crust here is very tasty, New York style with a very pleasing texture. Quite a surprise to find this style/quality of pizza out in the hinterlands. (Tried to use a coupon they had laying out on the counter for a free order of garlic twists. Was told that the coupon was for«next time» I came in! Apparently they would rather alienate customers than give away .37 cents worth of dough. Better keep up the pizza quality because their customer relations aren’t gonna win them any sales) *technically they do have a table or two but the place is rather tattered — you won’t want to linger

BETTERTHANSUPINOS, yup I said it and I’ll stand by it. Don’t get me wrong I crave Supinos but T&B is better, quiet now, it just is. The T&B has just the right amount of basil sweet fresh tomato chunks a sprinkle of parm cheese and baked in 5 minutes, with a delicate crunchy crust. YUMMMMMM. Equally as good is the Bianca pie with Parm, Mozzarella, and Romano cheese. It’s worth the drive to Romeo.

I come here once a week with the boys from work, sometimes more. I have never been disappointed with any food items on the menu or otherwise. The bread is the best I have ever had from a pizza/sub shop. Everything is homemade and the produce comes from the local Romeo farmers. Tomatoes are so red they look like candy and actually have flavor. When was the last time you actually tasted a tomato? The price is right, the portions are huge and most of the dudes in the place are friendly to deal with(hint). The owner will bend over backward to make you happy and he always succeeds. When we see people look in the window at us, as they walk into the filthy, disgusting, nasty, Subway restaurant next door, we scratch our heads. See my pictures and you will understand why.
