As of Saturday 4÷20÷2013 the place is CLOSED. Not sure if it is permanent, or what happened, but there is a hand-written note on the door in red sharpie that says«SORRY, CLOSED». No other explanation or signs of activity inside.

Not good. My daughter ordered the kids spaghetti. There was a half-inch of water in the bottom of the spaghetti bowl. I ordered the soup and small greek salad combo. They brought out a mini greek and the price was more than if I had ordered the soup and a medium greek separately. It was supposed to come with pita bread too. Never got it and was never offered a refill on our drinks. Meanwhile the waitress was sitting in a booth with some customers. Average food, poor service, prices too high.

UPDATE — The name has now changed to Stony Creek Coney Island, effective February 1, 2013. Same basic menu, same food and service. And, same issues.

I really wanted to llike this place. the food is not on par with the ambience or the amount they charge for it. I hate to bag on the service staff, I know they don’t get paid enough to care but you’ll be lucky to get the meal you order and the«chef» will under or over cook it anyway. I’ve given it more opportunities than I would any place else(I live up the road, and am a sucker for convince). I can only feel sorry for the next owner of this place because simply hanging a «under new management» sign won’t fool me into giving it another shot.

My husband and I eat here almost every Saturday morning. We love the service, menu and atmosphere! We have also had dinners as well — again, great menu and service and we can have a glass of wine with our meal.

This place is the pits. My boyfriend and I went in once for breakfast shortly after we moved nearby. The food was subpar, the service was lacking, and he was particularly turned-off by their«no substitutions» breakfast policy(really, is it that big of a deal to swap ham and sausage?). The dining room was pretty dead, and it was obvious why. We told ourselves we wouldn’t come back. But we were tricked by their big old sign bragging about their«NEWMANAGEMENT» and we thought, ‘Since it’s just around the corner, it’d be great if this place improved…’ and gave it another shot. That was a stupid choice. Once again, TERRIBLE service. We were mostly ignored, by 11am on a weekend their coffee was already cold, and still the«no substitutions policy.» All of this could be overlooked if the food was halfway decent; but it’s not. I had the breakfast burrito. My veggies were undercooked(who wants raw peppers in their eggs? not me) and the tortilla was so dry and floury and that it cracked apart. It basically became a vessel for hot sauce(and they don’t have a good variety of that either.) There are way better diner-quality dining options nearby, I can see why there’s never anyone at Callaways.
