We went in on Friday afternoon with a group of ten. They weren’t that busy, yet acted like we were an inconvenience. The daily German specials sounded good, but were served luke-warm. The French onion soup was also not hot. The waitress didn’t respond to our efforts to be friendly. Will drive right by next time we are in the area.

This place needs to update its décor. It feels like one of the Frankenmuth restaurants when you walk in. That’s really my only criticism. Our server April was fantastic. She’s very outgoing and at first I thought she acted too familiar. However we quickly grew to like her congeniality. She gave excellent advice on drinks and menu choices. April also made a point to find me a prime rib entrée after she had just been told they had run out. She really made our visit a great experience! The food was excellent. The table ordered prime rib, dinosaur bone ribs(beef ribs), baby back ribs, filet, and crabby portobella. Everything was prepared exquisitely, the old school salads were fresh, the bread was hot right out of the oven. I will be gong back when visiting the area.

Having moved to this area only a year ago, we are still discovering new(to us) places to eat. We arrived around 5:30 on a Monday to find only about 3 other tables were occupied. The ambiance is decent. Most of the furnishings, adornments and carpeting were somewhat weary, but decent. The menu was pretty extensive, but we both chose to order from the Oktoberfest menu and were very pleasantly surprised. It is rare to find decent German food and they did a great job. Our server was very congenial and helpful, and I was impressed that she freshened my soup bowl before packing it in a to-go container. I read some of the other reviews and tend to agree with the trend that the Inn offers decent fare at a decent price in decent surroundings. We will be going back!

We visited on Sunday for my Mother in Law’s birthday. It was really pretty good. The buffet is very reasonably priced at $ 9.95, but the price reflects that they don’t have a lot of selection. If you like the dinasour ribs(prime rib ribs), definitely worth it to go with the buffet. They also had a roast and breakfast items. The French toast was reported to be made with a cherry bread, and supposedly yummy. Mom had a hand made omelet, which she really liked. The omelet was cooked so there was brown on the egg, my personal heck,…I hate, hate, hate brown on eggs! But she liked it. … I had the 10 oz prime rib medium rare with Manhattan(red) clam chowder which was obviously made in house. Soup was a bit salty, but generally quite good. The prime rib was perfectly cooked, thank you! I had to ask for horse radish, which always surprises me. Broccoli on the side was fresh, and perfectly cooked, not soft or mushy. Other meals were the Greek pork chops, which were over cooked, but flavorful; and the prime rib au jus sandwich, which was retorted as very good. It had been about 10 years since we were last here,(it is quite a drive for us), but it was quite good.

Located on Van Dyke, just south of 29 Mile Road, it does look a bit run down from the outside but we were pleasantly surprised how good the food was. We came in for breakfast, but since the buffet was offered at $ 10 we decided to give it a try. The atmosphere was quiet, warm and lighting was dim since windows were limited. The décor was a throw back from the 70s-80s with lots of floral wallpaper, faux folliage, brass, oak and mirrors. Even the servers looked like they were from the same era. Bathrooms were clean and stocked. Since it was buffet-style, the server was great about clearing the plates and refilling beverages, however that should be expected. The selections from the buffet were good, offering grouper, salads, pancakes, french toast, waffles, biscuits and gravy, bacon and sausage. Highs: Omelet station prepared by a chef; lots of fillings to choose from. Greeted warmly and friendly service. Lows: French toast gets too soggy from sitting in the covered warming tray.(Maybe they should make that to order too.) Bacon was not crispy enough. Overall, the experience was decent. We were definitely pleased with the omelet from the omelet station. We would come back for that and the warm, friendly atmosphere.

Decent family style restaurant. Actually the crowd was mostly older. The menu did seem unfocused as they had a little bit of everything. The waitress said they were best known for their prime rib and also their fish. Both my wife and I had the special for the evening which was grouper. I got fried which was okay and she got broiled which was better. Prices were reasonable except for my dear which was a little pricey. Our table was a little bit wobbly which was kind of annoying. Waitress was okay but not great. There was a terrible smell in the mens restroom though. Must be a plumbing issue. Everything looks very clean but it’s not like something was decaying in there.

where do you start? from no wait time, immediate seating while being greeted with a smile, the service was outstanding the all you can eat fried grouper, prime rib was 5 stars plus second best to a chop house! this is a family friendly restaurant there is something on the menu for everyone! you will leave feeling happy and satisfied best kept secret!

Went there on a Saturday night to celebrate my mom’s birthday. The weather was not great and it had been snowing all day. The parking lot was NOT plowed and my first clue should have been the cars trying to exit the parking lot and getting stuck. We walked inside and asked if they had plowed and said they were coming back. We went in and had dinner(hour or so +) and when we came out the parking lot was still not plowed. Needless to say I was not able to make it out of the parking lot with all the snow. They had to have the cooks come out to help. The owner insisted that they plowed earlier — total LIE. Not only that but the service was terrible… seems like they dumbed down the wait staff. No Jack Daniels and ordered a Long Island Ice Tea and they ran out of the proper glasses to serve it in. They put the liquor in one glass and gave us a glass of coke and said to mix it??? Won’t ever be going back there again. And will not recommend it to anyone I know. I think they are on their way OUT!!!

After going to see the sights on Tillson St. for halloween we stopped for a late dinner. I ordered the 14. oz prime rib and it was yummy, cooked perfectly medium rare and served with pot. soup or salad. Others ordered the portobello crab alfredo and boy it was good, also roladen with spatzle, and a shaved primed rib sandwich, which was actually shaved prime rib from the same cut my order came from not prefrozen meat. We started with probably the biggest piece of saganaki I’ve ever seen and it was enough for the 4 of us. If im ever back in the area I will stop again.

What is this place? I’ve never seen a mish-mash of different decorating. Like others have said, this place lacks an identity. Is it a steak place, a fish place, a mexican place? I went there with my wife and my son and we all had something different. With all of our dinners came coleslaw. It had a really strange taste that none of us could take. Can’t identify it, but I’ve never tasted this in coleslaw, or any other food. I had the club sandwich, which I thought was pretty good. My son had the french dip, that was okay and my wife had the burger which was horrible. The meat was gray and tasteless. The service was super slow and half way through our meal our waitress disappeared. We never saw her again and had to ask someone else for our bill. She finally found it and finished up with us. The clientele were mostly older(60 –80 yr old) people. I’m assuming they’ve been coming here for 30 yrs and it’s just habit. I will never be back. Just an extremely odd experience all the way around.

My wife and I stopped in for a late lunch on our way home from the Romeo Peach Festival. Bad mistake! Other than a warm welcome from the hostess, the dining experience was dismal. My wife ordered the Chicken Monterey and I had the Romeo fruit salad with grilled chicken. The chicken Monterey was overcooked to the consistency of dried jerky. The cheese sauce was flavorless and lumpy. My Romeo fruit salad was disappointing to say the least. How in the world do you really emphasize peaches on your menu and serve a «Romeo fruit salad» with canned peaches and canned blue berries ? The chicken was obviously re-heated a time or two in the micro-wave oven since it had the look and flavor of cardboard. The blue berry muffin was cold and soggy as in right out of the refrigerator. $ 28.00 for this offering plus tip was insulting. My tip of an additional $ 6.00 recognized the server who was pleasant and efficient and had nothing to do with the awful food. Needless to say, we have seen the last of this place. If ever you are driving by this restaurant, do yourself a big favor and keep going. Being hungry is far better than stopping at this place.

Absolutely WORST customer service EVER!!! The owner is a joke! They run a special every Monday to attract business. So because of this special we told multiple people and booked a party. When we called to add five people the owner told us they were not going to honor their special for us. After trying to get him to understand we were trying to introduce his restaurant to others he informed us he was just going to cancel our reservation. Just to insure we did not come he threatened to cancel the special just for that day.

I enjoy going to places during their off-peak hours. You can really discover more about a place by doing so, you get more face time with the waitstaff, and your food get’s just a little more attention than if there was wall to wall patrons. Sunday early afternoon lunch at the Apple Orchard Inn was such an experience. It was very quiet and peaceful. The interior is very charming and subdued. In this day and age of corporate chains with their«goofy stuff on the wall» making every over priced restaurant look like your grandparents garage, it’s nice to see a place that is holding it’s dignity well. The wine was decent, I mean as far as drinking wine at 12:30 on Sunday goes. The fish I ordered though was amazing and I devoured it. It’s a good meal if you look at your plate and are surprised to see you have finished it without realizing. They bring fresh baked bread to the table, still hot and delicious. I drove past here so many times driving down Van Dyke, and for some reason never thought to stop in. Now that I have, I am eager to go again. Highly recommend.

It’s usually autumn when we stop here-on the way home from the farm markets further north on Van Dyke. Tim likes German food, and this place has an Oktoberfest menu when we’re usually out there. A dish like Beef Rouladen, wiener schnitzel or brat wurst plate comes w/two sides(we had spaetzle and red cabbage today), soup or salad and runs around $ 12. I’m not wild about German food, but this is a decent meal… and large enough that I ended up taking about half of my meal home. The warm bread, fresh from the oven, and the assortment of German beer on tap, made this October meal the perfect thing to do on a fall afternoon. The menu otherwise looks like your pretty typical steak, chops, fish, burgers type fare. Very quiet on a Saturday afternoon, and a very nice and attentive server.

I have heard about this place for a while. My girlfriend’s parents have informed us more than once that this place serves really good food. We have driven past the place a handful of times as the parking lot was usually full and finally stopped in to see what all the hype was about. There weren’t many people there a little after 3PM on a Sunday. As I’m writing this review a couple days after the experience, my critique may not be the utmost precise, but I don’t have much to say about the restaurant anyway. The place looks fancy. With stained glass doohickeys hanging in the windows and subdued incandescent lighting, it doesn’t look so bad. But I didn’t show up for a fancy atmosphere. For starters, you’re served freshly made bread with whipped butter. The bread was so good, I was thinking about asking the waitress for some to take home! A slight aroma of herbs emanated from the warm bread, making your munchies satisfied with more than just a simple pleasure, but a craving for more. My girlfriend started dipping the bread in my soup, and I followed, but we both came to the conclusion that the bread stood on its own. No need to bring broccoli soup to ‘this’ party, the party in my tummy that is. I ordered some sort of fish, which came with some options. As previously noted, I ordered broccoli soup, as well as fries. Just as any ol thick broccoli soup, it was naturally good. The fries, though, were the type with that odd outer layer of what can only be described as crumbs. I’ve been to a few restaurants that serve fries this way, and they don’t taste the worst, but they just look and feel like they’ve been battered for reasons unbeknown to myself. I don’t prefer them, but at least they weren’t soggy. Some places have really good fries, and I wouldn’t add Georgio’s to that list. If I would have truly loved the main dish, I would have remembered what it was I ate. It was some sort of fish with marinara, and with a side of spinach. Let’s start with the spinach; it was raw. I really have no one to blame but myself on this point, as the menu did specify spinach and not buttered spinach, creamed spinach, spinach with any extra flavor, etc. It was just … spinach. Steamed I believe, but not much else. I put some butter, pepper, and salt on it, but it was still just spinach. I should get over it though. After-all, raw is healthy. The fish was nothing to write home about. While executed mostly correctly, there were no frills beside the marinara, which was just a marinara. The edges were seared a little past fork tenderness, but the fish as a whole wasn’t overcooked. The fish could have used some sort of garnish, or possibly could have been cooked in something with more flavor. While not bad, it just didn’t stand out. While I did not order a salad, I tried some of my girlfriend’s. I don’t know what kind she ordered, but it had chicken, fresh blueberries, and dried cranberries in it. The result? It was actually really good. So if you see some sort of salad with these things in it, I’d recommend it. Also, it was very large. My girlfriend only finished about half of it. I almost forgot — the drinks! I got a «peachtini»(peach martini) and my girlfriend got some other peach drink, with a smoothie texture. While I regret ordering a martini, since I constantly forget that I don’t really like them, it wasn’t all that bad. If you’re the type who likes martinis, this one definitely had a peach taste. My girlfriend’s drink, of course, was actually a lot more preferable, and was really good. While the restaurant certainly had some good food, none of it was on my plate. The service was a tad slow, but nothing to get up in arms about. The prices weren’t too bad, but they were higher than I would have liked. For these prices, I would expect a little more oompf in the taste. The price for two including $ 6 drinks was a bit over $ 30 from what I recall. The menu lacked selection and detail. You know how you go to some restaurants and can’t make up your mind between a few things on the menu because they all look so good? That didn’t happen here. It was lackluster, boring, and didn’t make me want anything in particular. Some creative descriptions would help, along with pictures perhaps. Would I go there again? Personally, I’d rather try out a different place when I’m in the area. Who knows, maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. I thought the fish would be good, but nothing else on the menu was all that alluring or descriptive enough for me to make a better choice. In all, the place didn’t stand up to the hype, which is a bit disappointing.
