So we had a party of 15 with reservations at another restaurant. The reservations luckily were screwed up and we were forced to look for another place to go. The birthday girl decided to come here. We walked in at 7:30 on a Saturday night with most of the tables and bar area full. The staff and the owner made sure we could all sit as close as possible. We looked over the menu and I kind of thought to myself this is fancy food for a bar. I played it safe and ordered a burger. My wife ordered the filet mignon. The staff was very attentive to us and the chef(owner) came out often to check on us. Our food came out and was amazing! I instantly regretted ordering a burger. My wife’s steak was the best she has ever had, I hung my head in shame. Another person at our table ordered the pork shank. I had a bite and was blown away. Someone else had the ribs and those too were top notch. It is great to see someone putting passion and love in every single dish without paying outrageous prices at a fancy restaurant. I can not wait to return to try more food on their menu. Bravo!

We recently dined here a few weeks ago, and it was fantastic! They’ve really turned this place into something special for the Sunnyland area. I wouldn’t say it is cheap food, but it is very good. I highly recommend the homemade mozzarella sticks and the hand-pounded/beaded tenderloin. The server we had(I imagine he was owner or part owner) was very kind and knew the drink and food offerings. He made some great recommendations, and even offered to switch out a beer for someone at our table because it wasn’t what they were looking for. We’ve been back three times in the past two weeks, and we will be frequenting this place much more often. They have a signature cocktail/martini menu, and I recommend that you get there for happy hour(kind of pricey). Can’t wait to go back.

Had the pork shank with roasted rosemary potatoes and kale, along with delicious Cesar salad Awesome!!! Service great! Met chef owner, who was very personable and friendly. Would definitely recommend! Atmosphere was wonderful. The pork shank plate is definitely recommended.

Have to agree with Kevin B. on this one. This place is terrible. Don’t waste your hard earned money folks. This place used to be a gem but the last 6 months this establishment has went down the toilet. Too bad

Grew up in the neighborhood, I’ve tried this place several times and it is always a disappointment. First off, they have never gotten my food order right. Not once. Second, service is very slow. Third, they charge you a limb for a glass of beer. Better food and better value can be found elsewhere.

This place is a gem. Come to Sunnyland for the Arugula topped flatbread? You want this. You need this! Service was attentive and informative! Where did you come from McMahon’s? Welcome. Please stay!

Service took forever on the 2 occasions I was there. The first time there was one waitress working her butt off while someone else(I assume a manager) was standing in some office looking on not helping. I ordered the bacon Gouda Mac n cheese. When I got it I could tell it was sitting for a while cause it was cold. Menu said it came with garlic bread and when I didn’t get it I asked the waitress. She looked at me like I was an idiot till I pointed at the menu. They then brought me a piece of flatbread they had thrown on the grill that was not good. It’s really expensive($ 13 bucks for the Mac n cheese alone) and I only go there when my family wants to meet there on half price appetizer night.

I have not been back here during the day, but the nightlife has improved my perception of this place. The bartenders are very friendly and quick to get your drink to you. The food has definitely improved since I was here on 2÷8÷2014 They have also updated the dining area with 2 couches.

I had the BBQ special(ribs, wings, mac-n-cheese, bbq beans) and everything was wonderful. The ribs were perfectly cooked and probably in the top 3 I have ever had. Wings were excellent. Mac-n-cheese was clearly homemade and well above average. The ambiance inside is pretty simple: large restaurant/bar with plenty of seating, high ceilings, and a friendly staff. The exterior needs a bit of work, but what is inside and the food that counts. Overall, the experience was very good and the food is nothing but exceptional. The rave review in the Peoria Journal Star hit the nail on the head.

The service was poor, slow, and I had to catch our server to get refills. She was pleasant, but she was playing with a little boy at the restaurant more than anything. She did not know what was on the appetizer. We waited at least a half hour for our appetizer. The loaded fries. They were good, but would have been amazing if the fries were cooked crispy. I got a burger, overcooked. My son had the fried chicken sandwich… Grease dripped off of it. Tasted ok, but needed to be cooked at a higher temp. Fries were good, but again were limp. My husband had the brisket, had no smoky taste at all. Very disappointed after reading such a good review in the PJS.

Definitely not as I was expecting after reading the review in the Journal Star. Maybe we came at a bad time? 230pm… I wouldn’t think so. Sidewalks weren’t shoveled even though there were employees standing around. My fried chicken sandwich, albeit well seasoned, was not fried enough, the batter was soft and greasy and not crisp at all, the fries we got both as an appetizer and that came with my meal were greasy and limp, definitely could have been great had they cooked longer. Perhaps the oil wasn’t hot enough? Hard to believe when just about every meal comes with something fried along with it… Took 45mins for an appetizer to get served nearly simultaneously with our 3 main dishes I’m debating coming again, but if I did it would assuredly be more around dinner or later in the night time when things would be moving along faster. There was another couple who left after rejecting their food when we came in, not a good sign but we stuck it out, not completely sure it was worth it.
