I am disappointed to have to give Tulsi such a low rating, particularly when I had high expectations of them, as they were recommended to me by a friend. I was using their services from abroad via Skype, and they were incredibly disorganized. They forgot about an appointment they had scheduled with me, made mistakes on my insurance paperwork, then forgot to send me the appropriate forms for my health insurance, resulting in me losing at least $ 500 in reimbursement from my insurance company. They had significant delays in sending my labwork results back to me — which i was waiting for over a month for! And they didn’t seem to be very concerned about my health, which was really shocking and disappointing. Based on my poor experience with them, I would definitely NOT recommend Tulsi. Save your money and go elsewhere!

I’ve been going to Tulsi for almost five years and have greatly benefited from their services, including nutritional counseling, acupuncture, herbal body wraps, and reiki. As a woman with hormonal/reproductive issues, the Tulsi practitioners helped nurse be back to health. They identified foods that worked with/for my body and found ways to correct my imbalances. Without their support, I would have been stuck in a terrible cycle of Western doctors appointments on medication that never corrected my issues and only created more. Thank you so much Tulsi!

I have had a number of treatments at Tulsi — acupuncture, massage, etc. Loved them all. But what I appreciate most from Tulsi is the education. Tulsi is not a a place for a one-time treatment that gives you a feeling of bliss(for a few hours or days, if you’re lucky). They teach«health» and«wellness» and explain how these treatments, complimented by lifestyle habits leaves to overall, sustained well-being. I appreciate that most!

Tulsi is an undiscovered oasis of healing and wellness right in Georgetown. For nearly 10 years, I’ve been going there for all sorts of services — some of the standard offerings like acupuncture, massage, and facials, and then some less mainstream offerings like detox foot bath, shamanic healing and reiki. They also offer classes on various topics like essential oils, nutrition, and meditation, and carry wonderful products(supplements, books, gifts) of the highest quality. I’ve always been impressed with the breadth and quality of services, the integrity of practitioners, and the deeply peaceful energy of the space itself. My journey — physically, emotionally and spiritually — has been profoundly supported through Tulsi’s mission and delivery of wellness care. It has truly been a touchstone for me during my time in DC and I recommend it regularly to friends and colleagues.

Just had my first facial here with Katie G. It was amazing. She helped me with my breathing and relaxation during the treatment. She put me at ease and her touch was perfect; just enough pressure. The room was really relaxing. Parking is 1 hour on street in front and for a Saturday was plentiful. I’ve also worked with Dr. Goldberg before and she is great. I’ve met Dr. Natalie and she’s really nice and personable too.

Visited for the first time in Jan for a friend’s birthday. I was booked for a massage with Claudia and I LOVEHER!!! The woman has magic hands and has worked wonders on my back and neck. Sent others to her who had the same experience. The front office staff and owner are always so friendly and consultative. The prices are reasonable for this area.

Top-notch practitioners of holistic wellness in a sophisticated spa setting are worth a thousand Groupons anywhere else, including the Ritz Carlton. Gratuity is not accepted here — put it toward your next wellness therapy and get your balance on. I’ve benefited from a variety of treatments in the acupuncture, massage, facial, and add-on categories, and every single practitioner has exceeded my expectations. I have made conscious choices to afford these treatments. The truth is, Tulsi helped me more than the many doctors who took my insurance and didn’t! Be aware that they are serious about appointments: make it ahead of time, break it(if you must) 48 hours prior, and LOVE those Tuesday community wellness deals.

I was given a gift certificate from a friend to the Tusli Holistic Center. I put it away for a time that I would yearn for some much needed TLC. Unfortunately, I forgot about the certificate. One day, I happened to find it in my home and was happy to make an appointment until discovered it had an expiration date, which passed two weeks before. I immediately contacted Tulsi by email and phone, asking if they could extend the gift certificate date. I told them I was prepared to make an appointment for that week. I got an email reply days later, saying the best they could do was to give me a 50% discount on any service and that I should feel free to call to make an appointment. I emailed them back asking if I could make an appointment to meet with their manager to talk about their policy, which is punitive. This was a gift($ 115) to me for a service they were already paid in advance to do in the future. This is not costing them anything. Now, I do want to go to this center nor spend any money there, even at a 50% discount when they already have $ 115 in their pocket for a service never provided. I have told friends about this experience and they do not want to go their either. I called a friend, a massage therapist, who thought this was a ridiculous policy. Judge for yourself. I know there are other spas where they do not have expiring gift certificates and/or will call you to remind you that your gift is waiting for you to use. Those are places I like to go for healing and TLC.

The Integrative Health Consultation with Mayuri was very useful. Acupuncture with Jen also very good. Don’t wait until you are having acute symptoms to go!

a wonderful experience. I’ve been twice for prenatal massages and Valeria(my masseuse both times) is excellent. The ambiance is soothing and tranquil and the staff is accommodating and extremely helpful. The first time I was there I was wincing in back pain and a reflexologist noticed I was in pain and worked on me for free while I waited for my scheduled massage appointment! Highly recommended!

I had a wonderful experience at Tulsi in Georgetown. The environment is tranquil and soothing and the staff could not be more accomodating and professional. They have a beautiful outdoor garden with a fountain and lush greenery where you can relax, meditate, read and enjoy complimentary tea. I had an organic renew facial, which was excellent. I haven’t had a lot of facials, but this was the most relaxing and visibly noticeable that I’ve had. The treatment room was inviting and peaceful and the entire experience was wonderful! I would highly recommend visiting Tulsi!

I finally decided that conventional medicine wasn’t the answer for me — I had to try something else without being told to take this or that pill. I have borderline high blood pressure — or at least had — and have been on that sugar/caffeine/whatever I wanted to eat cycle because I was working hard a deserved it right?! Well, having had enough it was time to do something else. I had seen the sign for this Tulsi Living office for a number of months on my way to and from work. I checked out their website, which is super and finally made the plunge — that was after arming myself with information from their site. You can understand what they do, who the practitioners are and really get a sense of the kind of place this is going to be. Well, I wasn’t disappointed. The ambiance is immediately peaceful– they have a courtyard with fountain in the middle of Georgetown for goodness sake! My first appointment was with Dr. Maryam Sobti — and she put me on a detox for 6 weeks — no sugar, caffeine, dairy, beef, pork — and of course nothing processed. The hardest part has been letting go of my daily coffee fix which had gotten to at least 3 large coffees — probably 6 by anyone else’s standards. I had been jonesing for sugar big time — those cravings disappeared within three or four days. I have also had follow-up detox massages with Padma — the woman has magic hands. I have a had three massages over the last 5 weeks. I feel completely worked over but not sore and well I have allowed myself to give into it — which I think has certainly helped the process. To be honest this does not come cheap, but the good stuff never does and I am working on a major life change here(I think that turning 40 in February has a lot to do with it). All in all if you want an alternative to conventional medicine and pill popping I would recommend Tulsi Living. It isn’t easy, but there is another way to take control of your life and body.
