The Press Dry Cleaning & Laundry

Very friendly! I brought a bundle of clothes and said there were only 4 articles I needed by they next day and they had the entire bundle done for me when I went to pick up. I also lost my bracelet leaving the store and an employee stayed on the phone with me as she searched inside and outside for it (and eventually found it on the sidewalk!) Great first experience here.

I went here because it had a good rating on Unilocal.I also received 10% off for my first visit. After I picked up my clothes and took them home, I noticed that all the buttons on my (fairly new) Tory Burch dress were scratched. They are all dark blue metal buttons, and now most of the buttons are scratched down to the original metallic silver.
After having so many other bad experiences with bad dry cleaning in the area (and having to put so much time and effort fighting with owners to even partially compensate me with damage) I didn’t bother contacting them about it or going back. I just decided I would not return to this place.

I followed the Unilocal reviews, and they weren’t wrong. This place does a fine job with dress shirts at a reasonable price and ready overnight. I would say it isn’t the easiest place to find as the signage isn’t that noticeable, and the place is located on the second story above some other business. But once you find it, and drop it off, you’ll get the slip noting when you can pick it up, and it is ready the next day. NOTE: They mentioned it would be ready after 2PM, and we got there at 1:45PM, and the shirts were not there yet, so they are honest with their timeframe… so plan accordingly.

Simply the best. I tried multiple dry cleaners in the area; The Press has the best service, the quickest turnaround, the best value, and the friendliest staff. From my first pickup they recognized me by name on sight. It is a pleasure to be a client when I am in DC.

I used to be a regular customer. I brought dry cleaning and tailoring to them many times over the past year and a half.
I have short legs so I brought two pairs of jeans in to be hemmed at The Press on I street They cut one of the jeans perfect. And the other pair they cut so short like flood pants, they were above my ankles. They didn’t charge me for the flood pants but boy was I angry that my $ 100 pair of jeans were too short. And when I talked to the manager on the phone, they kept asking me if they were the same brand and same size and I kept telling them that YES, they were. I bought two of the same J Brand jeans, same size but different colors. This was really frustrating. What if I had brought in two different jeans? They would have still cut them incorrectly? The employees were understanding and they were sympathetic to my situation but I’ll never give them my business again.
So bummed because they are in a great location.

Pretty much all I could ask for out of a dry cleaner. They consistently meet all of my expectations. The collars of my white dress shirts always come back to me clean and white. They’ve never broken a button or missed a stain. They present my shirts with the arms nearly folded and a collar stay protecting the collars. Now, they even give out a large, sturdy duffel bag with a shoulder strap to transport your laundry in. On top of that, the young woman who I always see behind the counter is consistently nice. If only they were a bit cheaper, I’d be raving about this place to all of my colleagues (regular men’s dress shirts are $ 2. I’ve had em done elsewhere for cheaper, but I understand that rent in their part of downtown sure isn’t cheap!)

We dropped off our clothes to get wash and folded, $ 2.00 a pound, and are 100% satisfied and the best we have found in the area. The customer service is top rated and are friendly and helpful. They finished our clothes earlier than promised because we were in a bind and called us early to pick them up. How many companies still work this way to make customers happy? This place does!
We can’t say enough to about the staff and quality of the service we received. We will use them over any other place and will be spreading the word cause you can’t beat the service.

So glad I found this place near my job! They have dry cleaned almost all of my work clothes and in a timely manner (QUICK). They have taken in 3 of my pants so far and I have more to take in. I was charge $ 25 to take in work pants (not sure if that is all pants). If I don’t take in my pants, I don, t wear them and then my money goes down the drain so if you are like me and your clothes never fit correctly than its a good investment if you ask me.
Everyone there has always been kind and courteous. It’s convenient and works for me so I’m happy.

the service at this shop is awesome. i took in a few pieces using an online deal voucher and expected sort of half-​baked service given the use of a coupon. instead, i was greeted by a very nice and friendly lady who explained their process and took detailed instructions on special care of my jacket. when i went to get the coat and saw it was damaged from where the belt was attached, again i expected issues with mgmt that probably would not help me. however, the owner called me and personally helped with the repair so much so that the coat looked even better than when i dropped it off for cleaning! super nice staff and happy that my low expectations were exceed many times over. would definitely go back and recommend!

I don’t usually get my clothes dry cleaned, so I was hesitant to take my favorite dress to the dry cleaners after I spilled a bit of soy sauce on it. They did a wonderful job cleaning up the stains! I also took a trench coat here, and they did a fabulous job cleaning the color and inside of the coat, as well as ironing the belt and making it look new again!
I also got a new customer discount the first time I went here, without even having to ask for it!

This is located close to my office so I took a sweater there that had gotten a large ink stain on the arm. The stain is totally gone and it took 5 days for them to have it ready. Very happy!

It’s the little things. One of my shirts lost a button and I didn’t even point it out. It was fixed when I picked it up!

Amazing cleaners with fast service. I will never use another cleaners again. Je is so great that he even asked if the buttons come off my shirts while they are being cleaned can he replace them with something close.

Je is great! He was able to take my pants in for altering at the Capitol Hill locale, have them hemmed and ready for pick up at this new locale. The new location is lovely and very well located next to the F. West metro stop, the gym, the bank and Baja fresh. So happy that the Press is expanding into increasingly convenient locations.
