We stopped in for an early dinner and had a fantastic experience! I had gotten ill from an accidental glutening by a restaurant earlier in the week so I was a tad paranoid about a reoccurrence. I spoke with the staff who deferred to his manager, Manuel. We were so glad he did that because Manuel made sure to make the food with as little cross contamination as possible. He was super friendly and helpful and I didn’t get sick. Thank goodness they have great staff who understand food allergies here. The salad was delicious and the greens were really sweet. Not a misnomer. I’d choose this over Whole Foods any day. I will definitely come back here. My partner had a great idea to bring Tupperware here so that we wouldn’t feel bad using so much plastic for take out if we came often. Maybe a 10% discount for being green, sweetgreen? Lol. Either way, when I move here I will definitely frequent!

Fresh, quick, and somehow always hella delicious. I have no idea why it’s so hard to make salads this good at home. They have specials and prices can range depending on the season. My favorite is the guacamole greens. This location is pretty clean and conveniently just off the metro. Add the staff who is always friendly and you have a winner :)

I’ve been here a few times to get a ‘healthier’ option for food. Every time it takes a little bit out of me because paying over 10 bucks for a salad makes me cringe a little. Granted the service here is friendly and if you go with the make your own salad option you can actually load as much veggies as you want but paying an extra couple of bucks for chicken eh, just eh. On top of that, the last two times I’ve been there they had a pretty bad fruit fly problem. I mean, no matter how clean looking it is makes it hard to enjoy the healthy, fresh salad with a little extra protein landing around my salad bowl.

Great salad choices. Fresh, minimally processed food. I made a custom salad with kale and lots of vegetables. And it was pretty good. Minor complaints: salad was not mixed well at all. All the veggies were in the bottom and I never did manage to find the globs of spicy cashew dressing hidden somewhere in the mix. Kale could have been chopped finer as well(detailed I know, but I love my salads…) Service was less than ideal when it came to checkout. The woman behind the counter said my credit card wasn’t working. This might have been cause for alarm if I had not seen the woman before me try three cards before one worked. I asked if they were having a problem with the card processor and she said, «Well, its not our fault. It’s not reading cards.» Right, but its not the customers’ fault either… so maybe before you make someone think that their bank account has been looted by digital thieves, let folks know that you’re having technical difficulties.

Quick eats after our walking excursion to and fro G-Town. We passed another location on K/19th but it wasn’t open so we ended up here. Same concept of other«make your own» salad spots, & my Daughter did just that as I opted for soup. As she was deciding on which salad to get(don’t know why, she always gets the same one every time, even away at school), she opted yet again for the Kale Caesar, a nice little combo of romaine, shaved & crispy parmesan, grilled chicken, fresh lime & their signature dressing. «Mother, I am going to try another selection next time»…girl get your life & stop food fooling yourself is what I wanted to stay, yet I elected not respond & ordered the Chickpea Lentil Soup. The person who was making her salad had a little spunk to her especially while she was squeezing the heck out of the lime. She also had green hair… it was my 2nd time today seeing someone with green colored hair) I guess she wanted to play the part of being green while serving green salads. Her salad looked good as she was rhythmically inhaling it & my soup was amazing! Not because it was organic & vegan… the concoction of the ingredients & seasoning was perfect to my palate. They give you a nice size portion of lentils & chickpeas with little diced carrots, onions and celery & the mixture of the veggie broth & whatever spices added to the soup is what brought it all together. It’s very rare I get to partake in bread in a public setting due to the ingredients, can we celebrate the Buckwheat Bread?! There’s nothing like soaking your bread in the soup… umm umm good. Always a plus to see the abundance of Vegan options especially when it comes to the dressings & soups, ultimately making the salad bar more viable to create & partake in. Great place for a quick, healthy & inexpensive meal.

Sweetie, sweetie, sweetgreen. I love you so. This is my number one spot for a grabbing a quick dinner on my way home. I eat here 4 – 5 times a week and it rarely disappoints. My favorites include the Harvest Bowl, Guacamole Greens, and Kale Caesar. I always order off the menu, rather than making my own salad, and I’m always happy!

Although it was a non-traditional visit to Sweetgreen, it was worthy of an awesome Unilocal review. I visited Sweetgreen in Dupont circle, back-to-back, with my 5th grade students and both times I have thoroughly enjoyed myself. Atara Bernstein, our Sweetgreen in schools coordinator, was PERFECT. She presented our scholars with an awesome workshop«Eating in Season», discussing the fruits and vegetable that grow in season. Following our lesson, my students got a chance to meet the staff of Sweetgreen and customize their own salads. My pickiest eaters told me after leaving, «I can’t wait to have my mom bring me here». It was refreshing to see them trying new things and to create a mindset for healthier eating. Thank you Sweetgreen for providing 5th grade DC students this opportunity. #YouGuysRock

Sweetgreen is basically the best salad chain known to man. I lived in Philly for a long time where I had my first sweet green experience. I haven’t been to one in years and when I saw there was one in DC while I was visiting I knew this was a must stop. So many fresh options, my friends were all impressed since this was their first experience. 100% recommend.

Hey, I thought my(seasonal) Peach and Feta salad with Balsamic vinegar was delicious. It was very filling, tasty, and had just the right amount of dressing. I’ve had their(not seasonal) Wild Child bowl ant it’s pretty good too. They use fresh ingredients and have good customer service at this location. It’s a good spot for dinner with a(1) friend, as they are not crowd friendly at all.

Oh Sweetgreen, what a silly girl I’ve been, you’ve won me over with your consistently delicious misōba salad. I admit, I don’t visit you often, but when I do, you always deliver me a delicious bowl of perfectly balanced ingredients which I spice up with a good amount of Sriracha and enjoy with a tasty slice of your whole grain bread. You’ve pulled at my heart strings with your organic and local sourcing, completely compostable plates, containers, napkins and utensils, and green design. I support you wholeheartedly. But alas, you seem to be missing this delicious salad from your online menu. Gasp! Does this mean you no longer offer it? I must run to my nearest around-the-block location and confirm the planets will continue to spin and the sun will rise once again over a delicious bowl of misōba.

How do you afford to live in this area when the rent is $ 1700+ per month? I’m worried about your finances. Make sure you can afford it. Out here(20 miles north), I’m paying $ 300 per month, AND I can see the sunrise, sunset, the stars, trees. There’s a lot of room to stretch, but I guess it’s not as cool as living in Dupont Circle. How do I distinguish myself from the rest of the young adults in DC? I don’t know, but at the Philips Collection I saw Californian jailbait whose butt was hanging out of her shorts. She clearly set herself apart from the other visitors. Sweetgreen sets itself apart from other fluke salad chains by offering all of the things that white privileged patrons enjoy: gluten-free, soy-free, dairy-free, nut-free, vegan, vegetarian, free range, local, organic, in-season, etc. I wonder why only rich people are gluten-free. I used to work in a bakery, and one time a hot mom asked if our bakery had any gluten-free bread. I watched as my co-workers, many of whom are immigrants, had no fucking idea what she was talking about. It’s kind of annoying that Sweetgreen caters to vegans. I gallivanted over to this millennial spider web after the Philips Collection became too crowded. I stand in line in front of these two chicks who discuss their love for the strawberries in the sample salads. I didn’t bring my phone with me to DC because I needed a break from the digital world. I also didn’t need to calculate the fastest way to Sweetgreen because I didn’t really care. I don’t need to save one minute of my time, which would be wasted away on Instagram, Unilocal,or whatever the latest app is nowadays. I’m sorry if I seem jaded. Bear with me here. You have read 50% of this review. If you actually put your phone away, you can develop a mental map of DC. I also have lived around here for 25 years bro. I do not like what DC has become. I liked it more when we had to go to Baltimore for a baseball game or when DC wasn’t as popular as it is today. At least I am a trendsetter. I will remain here when the popularity of the DC empire plummets. I notice that all of the Sweetgreen employees must have come from far away to reach this location. That’s how it is nowadays. I bet some of the customers annoy them. I ask for romaine as the base for my custom salad. I bet everyone feels special when making a custom salad. Romaine is the superior choice because romaine is the most filling. I don’t know why anyone picks arugula or mesclun. Then I add a bunch of things like chickpeas, beets, tofu, tomatoes, and broccoli. The beets remind me of rock candy. Sweetgreen should give us cooked beets because no one wants to eat raw beets. What the fuck are they thinking? What was I thinking for getting raw beets in the first place? Sweetgreen should offer olives. Instead, they offer shredded cabbage, purslane, corn, raw seeds, citrus shrimp, and carrot chili vinaigrette. Come on man! Stop trying to be so cool and be a little more useful. Olives are key. I would have given you five stars if you offered olives. gh I eat by myself in the Dupont Circle to look at the eye candy and scoff at how little grass there is. Then I notice that Books-A-Million is going out of business. You can thank e-readers and Amazon for that one. I later browse around the book store and notice that each book is $ 20+. I head over to Wonderbooks on my way home and purchase SEVEN used books for that price. Suburbs rule

«Sweet dreams are made of greens…» + Healthy and delicious + Generous size + Customize bowls for $ 7.25(w/o meat but includes grains & greens) + Variety of toppings and dressings The only downside about sweetgreen for me is it is pricier than other customized salad shops I’ve been to, with most options ranging from $ 9 – 12.

I love their tasty and healthy options! A lot of places offer salads but they use bland, cheap ingredients without my thought. Sweetgreen is different and really puts effort into their healthy entrees. I particularly appreciate the vegan labeling. I also love their commitment to ethics and sustainability. Many companies just ignore this, and I’m glad Sweetgreen does the following cool stuff: **Packaging: We use 100% plant-based compostable packaging non derived from oil. This includes our bowls, cutlery, and beverage cups. Our bags, napkins and menus are 100% PCC. We also sell re-usable salad blaster bowls and bags. **Design: We use reclaimed and FSC certified materials in our construction. We use energy efficient LED and Fluorescent lighting. Our furniture is made from reclaimed wood. We use low VOC paint and wall coverings. **Energy: We offset 100% of our energy with wind energy credits. **Waste: We compost food scraps in our kitchens. We have composting and recycling stations for our customers to compost their packaging and recycle their bottles.

The atmosphere in DuPont is fantastic, great salad choices and all locally sourced. Definitely a fan of the options for creating your own salad — and the iced tea drink options! If you’re looking for a great salad stop, to stay or to go, definitely check out Sweetgreen!

There is 1(or 2???) sweetgreen location(s) in New York, where you have to wait in line big time for a bowl of greens during lunch hour. Waiting in line for salad isn’t something I’m willing to do so when I had a chance I tried this chain at its city of birth at an off hour. I got hummus tahina with bread as recommended by the guy behind the counter. The location I went was testing a green juice with apple, kale, lemon and ginger so I got that as well. The juice is just a simple green juice with ginger and nothing special. The salad was a major letdown. It had disproportionately too much onion which just ruined it for me. I did like the(4 mini) falafels that had whole chickpeas in them, but I’ve had so much better salads at other restaurants and I completely cannot relate to anyone willing to wait in line for this. PS as I said this location has a testing kitchen so they have salads and drinks that are not available anywhere else, e.g. a smoked salmon salad that looked pretty good.

I work in Dupont, so this place is a natural«go-to» for lunch if I didn’t have time to pack one. The Good: The salads. Fresh, clean, and easy! The lines go pretty quick, so no need to worry about the wait. The interior is designed really well and I love their decorations. Their manifesto is written on the side and the season is written in lettering by where the salads are made– really cute. The seating area is pretty nice, spacious for Dupont, but if there’s no space and the weather is bearable, go to the circle and eat your salad! Be sure to sign up for their rewards card/app! You get a free salad on your birthday month-ish and also get a free salad every 100 $ you spend there. Yes, it’s expensive, but I think you’re paying for the quality of food that you get. The Bad: I’ve had pretty bad luck with the staff here. On instance: I got overcharged for a salad, and when I let the cashier know that the price was different on the menu than what she rung me up for, she gave me attitude and told me that the prices had gone up. I politely recommended that they change the sign for other customers. I will say though, when I tweeted about this to Sweetgreen, they sent me a gift card for a free salad! Pretty nice of them to do that. Great customer service in that sense. I will say though, that the friendliness of the staff has improved in the last month or two. Hopefully they continue to improve!

I love their menu choices, but the amount of base greens to actual stuff in the salad was too much. I got their watermelon feta salad, and it was just stuffed with kale and other greens, and barely any cheese, fruit, etc. What a disappointment. The interior of the place is rather spacious — there was room to enjoy your super healthy salad, and they also had some froyo. People tell me that I had to try Sweetgreen and Chop’t, and I tried both. I have to say based on the ratio issue and whatnot, Chop’t wins. I’ll have to admit that the salads at Sweetgreen sound much more appealing, and this location has a bunch of those test salads, such as a peach salad and this watermelon one. I just wish they would add more stuff to it, instead of a small bowl of greens for $ 10.00. If I were more decisive, I would have created my own… maybe they’ll add more stuff to it that way. Definitely come here if you’re more into a better ambiance. It’s got that earthy, clean feel to it.

Love that this place uses all local ingredients and has seasonal salads. However– I AMNEVERSATISFIED when I leave. I get hungry like two hours later and the salads average $ 10 and they don’t fill it to the top with the greens. I wish that they would offer bigger portions for how much they charge… I prefer sweet green’s ingredients but damn Chop’t is a better bang for your buck!
