Pretty bad experience from the moment I walked in the door. The bathrooms were filthy, and the young man working behind the counter, clearly saw me standing up front waiting to order. A couple walked in and he immediately began to take their order. I said, «Excuse me, I was here before them.» The young man, in a very snotty way, pointed to where the couple was, and said, «The line to order is over here.» Besides the couple, I was the only other person waiting to be served. In all my years of going to Starbucks, this is my first bad experience and I will never be back to this location. McDonald’s will be getting my business today…

This place can get pretty busy at times with tourists and shoppers all converging to recharge with their lattes and such. Not much seating downstairs. Great to come in and get back out if you don’t mind the lines. Upstairs is a lot more serene. It can be so quiet that you can almost forget you’re overlooking the craziness of M street. If you find a seat upstairs with the right group of people who are also respecting the peacefulness, you will obtain your coffee zen.

Workers obviously do not care about their jobs or customers. Every single person I interacted with had a terrible attitude… And this is coming from someone who used to be a waitress(so I am empathetic to those who have stressful customer service jobs). First, I go in an stand in a long line. This is normal at all starbucks in the city it seems. The guy in front of me is having a difficult time ordering and the girl at the cash register is entirely unhelpful. The guy writing orders on the cup says in an annoyed tone«come on man!». My turn. I ordered a grande vanilla bean frap with soy milk and no whip cream. I noticed as soon as I started speaking he started walking away, writing my order. I’m vegan and wanted to make sure he got my order right so I repeated it. He seemed annoyed that I repeated my order and said«I know». After I pay for my order I get my drink pretty quickly but it has whip cream. I told the guy who made it that I asked for no whip cream and he said, «talk to that guy» pointing to the guy writing order. Keep in mind the twenty person deep line and the fact that the guy who made the drink could just spoon the whip cream off. I’m not an asshole, I wasn’t asking for the drink to me remade. So I go to the guy who took my order and he got annoyed and said«next time tell me you want no whip cream.» And I said«I did». Confirmed with the person I was with that I did in fact say no whip cream as I remembered. Now, this isn’t about whip cream at all. I try not to be a stuck up vegan. It’s about the utter lack of customer service. More than that, it’s not how I would treat a random stranger let alone a customer. Staff should be removed and replaced with trained people who can appropriately represent the starbucks brand.

Located in one of the best places: Georgetown M Street DC. The store décor is fabulous. The only thing is in the most busiest times there are less staff working. Probably being busy makes staff anxious and stressful, and they become rude. The cups are sticky; milk & cream all over the cup. They should sometimes clean the store when they have time thou.

The Georgetown/DC store: Good coffees and such but the service was a bit unfriendly. But at the same time it was clean and yet very busy.

Walked into this location while it was very slow, there was no line. I stood at the register while two employees who appeared to be doing absolutely nothing but chattering with each other, blatantly ignored me. They turned their heads and pretended I wasn’t there. I really wanted a latte but they were so rude and useless I figured they couldn’t be bothered to make it correctly or at all, so I just grabbed a bottle of pellegrino. I was finally rung up by one the rude employees and got the hell out of there. This was the most uncomfortable experience I’ve ever had at a Starbucks, will never return.

Went here this morning & was very disappointed with the service. First of all the view from the outside where you can see boxes stacked near the front door make it look like the place is shut down. I thought the service was terrible & they were rude. Slow even, they didn’t seem to care to help anyone. Also they’re pastry bar wasn’t even set up for the day & wasn’t even clean from the shift before. These employees need to get there Shit together. I will not be coming back & will go buy coffee elsewhere.

I had the worst experience today at the Georgetown Mst location. I visited the store today for my daily doughnut and received the worst customer service from the barista named Kirk. After purchasing my pastry, I left the store and remembered I needed a cup of ice for my beverage at work. I patiently waited for him to finish serving the customers who was actually purchasing a drink and heard the employee displaying his anger with work today stating«I’m on one today, f**k these people». I kindly asked the associate«Hey man, when you get a chance, can i have a small cup of ice», he immediately told me no and«you can go to the back of the line», i then asked«for a cup of ice? There’s no one waiting». He responded«Like I said, go to the back of the line». In disbelief I stood there for a couple of seconds, hoping he was gonna have a change of heart and get me a cup of ice. After about a 2 minute wait, i noticed a young man counting out the register, I approached and asked him for ice and he immediately stopped what he was doing and helped me out. As the young man was handing me my ice, Kirk interjected by stating«Man, you don’t see that line, forget that ice. He can wait in line». After hearing this I informed Kirk, that i had already made a purchase and it made no sense for me to hop back in line for a cup of ice, his response was«I don’t care». i then asked the young man who had helped me with the ice the managers name. He informed me he was the manager on duty and if i wanted the store managers name. In true form, her comes Kirk, «The manager name is Taylor and you can tell whoever you want. You can Instagram it, Unilocal it, Facebook it… Nobody cares!!!». As he’s yelling this at me, the manager on duty was just as baffled and surprised as I was. This experience was crazy, as manager in the area and patron, it was horrible display of customer service and Kirk could careless about the customer experience or his JOB!!! I have always heard mix reviews about the Georgetown Mst Starbucks, but I guess I finally got to experience it. As long as Kirk is manning any station at this location, I would not return and recommend my friends to go else where as well…

I really like the Georgetown Starbucks. A great feature of this location is the quiet upstairs section with ample seating. They have a fireplace in the middle. Although the fireplace is fake, it gives out real heat. It makes a nice warm center for patrons to gather around in the wintertime. Tonight I came by this place again. I sat upstairs to do some drawing. The place is kept very nicely organized and clean, thanks to Kirk who is constantly busy keeping it that way. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anybody work harder than he does, anywhere. He has worked at this location for years so I am already familiar with this really cool employee. Tonight was very busy as can be expected for a Saturday. My drink was still made swiftly and delicious. The manager, Sam, was just orchestrating all the operations and did an excellent job of making sure everything was running smoothly amid all the craziness and heavy volume of wacky Saturday night Georgetown customers. Five stars for this place. I’ll always come back.

Starbucks, more like Flybucks amirite? Seriously so many flies. Pretty sure this is a solvable problem. While not the worst Starbucks in the city(I’m looking at you, 13th and U), it needs some help. By the way, staff, the entire upstairs can hear you when you’re in the back room, FYI.

The upstairs of this Starbucks is always gross. There are always, ALWAYS a few flies buzzing around and by the door where the emergency exit is there’s a ton of ants around the track can. Very disgusting, please deal with your insect problem upstairs.

I stopped by this Starbucks while in town for Georgetown graduation ceremonies, so it was a very busy weekend. I was greeted politely and my coffee was ready fairly quickly. There was a pretty long line of people but it moved well. I sat downstairs and it was really loud and crowded. I later found out that there was an upstairs, so I moved up and the area was empty and quite. I got a couple of hours of work done and headed out.

It’s nice the bathrooms are available to the public since no access code is needed and it’s in a great location, however, while I didn’t make a purchase here, I overheard several people ordering with the baristas and the baristas were just downright rude to them! I understand it’s crowded and busy, however, you’re in the customer service industry! If you don’t want to at least pretend to be nice and/or happy, I’d suggest working in a different line of work.

This location is only still in business because of its prime location in the heart of M street’s shopping area. The service here is usually abysmal and unreasonably slow. They’re often out of stock of most items. Additionally, on more than one occasion my drink was incorrect. I will say that I’ve seen a slight improvement in the service at this location over the past 6 months, but they still have a long way to go.

Starbucks always gets my order right and are very fast! This location though, hasn’t been doing a good job. I went to order a Passion tea lemonade and the cashier seemed super confused, got me the wrong size and was super slow as if I had the whole day to spend there.

I usually never have a problem at Starbucks but I was very disappointed by this location. The man taking my order seemed confused by what I was asking for, a hazelnut macchiato, and was slow to ring me up. That would not have been a problem but after they started making my drink they told me they were out of hazelnut. Caramel was not what I wanted and I would have appreciated being told this before I paid for my order. Lastly, the barista making my drink only put milk and caramel in it– no coffee. I do not recommend this location.

This Starbucks location is world’s better than the other Georgetown location on K Street. They generally have everything in stock and the line/wait time is manageable. Staff is friendly enough although they’ve definitely screwed up a few drinks before. This is my go-to office starbucks.

The only thing good about this Starbucks is the top floor. There are plenty of tables, chairs, outlets, and overall is a really quiet area to come and get some work done. All the times I’ve been here, the upstairs has been pretty much empty, making for a great study space. The only negative thing about the upstairs is the temperature — it’s absolutely FRIGID no matter where you sit, to the point where it’s uncomfortable to be upstairs. I have tried to ask the employees to turn up the temperature just a little bit, but they didn’t seem too eager, despite the fact that many other people were very cold as well(not just me!). Overall, this is your regular starbucks. Service can be extremely slow due to the high amount of people around M street. I’ve seen many people walk out of line due to frustration and waiting time. Also, it seems like the upstairs isn’t the only cold thing in this Starbucks… the employees are very disinterested and aren’t the most pleasant people either.

This is your standard, corporate owned Starbucks. As an added perk, this location has reserve blends available through the clover brewing process. It is an excellent treat if you have never tried it before. There is upstairs seating available. It is much quieter than the seating on the main floor, and has windows overlooking M street.
