A great place we come to after work, not nearly as often as I’d like. The employees all recognize us and often greet us by name(as they do to most of their regulars). Good selection, good prices keeping in mind I know what I like and generally get a $ 10 cigar. I personally recommend the Ashton Corona as an entry-level cigar, tastes great, usually smokes great, and is pretty mild. They have a TV lounge with couches, little snackies, and a wide selection of soft drinks. One of the things I really like is that any drink is a flat $ 2, so when it’s busy I just throw two bucks on the counter and don’t have to wait around, like at other places, to have my $ 1.69 coke or $ 2.44 Voss water rang up. Downstairs is a pool table with a lot more space, it’s more a place to come with a group and BYOB and hangout for a few hours. One of the few places in DC where gentlemen can hang out and smoke in a relaxed and non-stodgy atmosphere.

We visited this shop while touring with the DC Cigar Tweetup. From the front this store doesn’t look like much to be honest. But once you’re inside you realize how fortunate people are to have this in their community. This family-owned lounge has a great variety of seating — from the front of the shop by the windows, to couches, to large tables and a semi-private area as well. There are non-alcoholic drinks readily available for purchase and large HD TVs to watch. The humidor was well taken care of and was well stocked with boutique brands. Ventilation is quite good here despite there being about 50 people smoking in there at once while we were there. The operators were knowledgeable and friendly and willing to help out despite the torrent of visitors that appeared(the tweetup). My negatives to this that brings me from the rating of «As good as it gets» to «Yay! I’m a fan» was the cigarette smoking by an employee. Any cigar smoker knows that cigarettes are generally unwelcome where fine tobacco products are enjoyed. And though I hate to take away a whole star on a rating from a great shop, I just can’t say it’s «as good as it gets» because of that.

Nice vibe, has the appearance of a well-kept yet old-fashioned shop. Great service and nice loose tobacco selection. My father and fiancé love the place and they are the experts.

Easily the best cigar store anywhere. My favorite place to enjoy a cigar. What makes the place really special is the gallery of «Regulars» whose black and white portraits grace the store’s walls. How many places take the time to bring in an accomplished photographer to document the loyal clients? As far as I know, this is the only such store. Oh. There are comfortable leather chairs, talkative regulars and a superior selection of cigars. Highly recommended!

ok, so they’re awesome, I don’t smoke cigars, never have, don’t smoke anything for that matter, I actually Hate the smell of most of them but I am a fan of a nice clove cigarette. So here’s why I love a place I really have no reason for being in, I am a Loctician for LocLov Styles and I do a hairstyle on women that involves pipe cleaners. Yes, actual pipe cleaners, they make Shirley Temple curls in loc’ed hair, so when I came here to clear their shelves, they were so funny, friendly and cool about it. That even though I could buy them online I come back just to get a little piece of their smoke filled sunshine, to brighten my day of course. Maybe some day I’ll stop by just to play some pool and take in a lil’ second hand smoke, maybe…

I love this place. I was a budding cigar smoker when Signature opened up in my neighborhood, and as a young cigar smoker going into a lounge can be overwhelming and off-putting. Signature, however, was a welcoming environment with reasonable prices and a GREAT lounge(with LCD tv). I have become a regular and a locker-holder, and I never cease to meet interesting people when I am in the store. The owner goes out of his way for his customers, the other worker are always great for recommendations or conversations, and the atmosphere is great for those who like the cigar community. I have turned many of my friends onto this lounge, and I will continue to be a regular here, even after moving out of the neighborhood.

I was ecstatic that Signature had opened up in Tenleytown. They have an excellent selection at reasonable prices and the owner is very friendly and down to earth(unlike some other cigar store owners). The staff is always helpful and not pushy. They will provide good customer service for a three dollar cigar as they will for a 30 dollar cigar. I saw the above post about the gray haired guy. The owner is almost always there and when he is not, the gray haired guy, Brian, has excellent customer skills. Again he is helpful but not pushy.

This cigar shop has an extensive collection of, well, cigars. I’m honestly not a cigar expert whatsoever, but it smelled good in here. The person working here was really friendly and chill, not like a convenience store where they always act a little shifty. They sell unfiltered Lucky Strikes here which are an incredibly rare find, but they cost about $ 11 a pack after taxes, so if you’ve always wanted to know what it feels like to live in NYC, this is the spot. If I smoked cigars I’d probably check this place out more often, but otherwise there are cheaper places to get a pack of smokes.
