Great service by far. Worst steak I’ve ever had. Atmosphere was pleasant with nice fire place and relaxing music.

Overall, pretty good experience. They were unfortunately out of a fair bit of the wines on their wine by the glass list. I had a steak that was well cooked, perhaps a tad under seasoned. The sides were a bit thin, but tasty.

Started with a lovely calamari. Followed with delicious steak! Everything was cooked perfectly. Asparagus were crisp and flavorful. Steak had just enough seasoning. Very good.

I wanted seafood. Oysters are about all they’ve got. The Po’Boy sandwich was okay but not great and Rockefellers were decent — kind of a disappointment, though, since I definitely went in there hungry. We stopped by on a Saturday during a festival, expecting to be able to order lunch and pay those kinds of prices. One of the plates was more expensive for brunch than dinner… and the description wasn’t different. The waiter wasn’t apologetic at all when he told us we couldn’t order from the dinner menu(I wanted something they didn’t have and the brunch was a bit limited). Too hungry to leave, we stayed and filled up on a few pricey things. I doubt I would go back given that Hank’s is nearby(I like their selection better) and Eastern Market /Barracks’ Row has plenty of other tasty spots. Not bad to get in quickly but nothing to write home about.

Good prices. Took care of my kids well. And one of my kids threw up. So I had to give it four stars. If they get their service a bit better is give it more stars.

My husband and I came here the first night that we moved to DC. We both love oysters, and thought this would be a great place to celebrate our move. Our waitress was very knowledgable, attentive and friendly. We got our drinks right away – even on a busy night. We ordered oysters to split as an appetizer, and they brought them out on two platters. Nice idea, as it is nice not to have to reach over on to one plate. The oysters were extremely fresh and delicious. For dinner I had the steak salad which was prepared perfectly. The portion size was good, and the steak was delicious. We will be back to try more of the menu!

I was a little skeptical about Senart’s since I don’t really trust DC seafood but they do a really good job, and our dinner exceeded our expectations. My wife and I went here for an anniversary dinner, looking to try a new place on the hill. I had the ribeye and she had the salmon. My ribeye was cooked perfectly and had great flavor; all of the accompaniments were tasty. My wife’s salmon was good – but not great – which is what I’d expect from DC, but the risotto that came with the dish was really good. It had great flavor and wasn’t too heavy relative to what I’ve come to expect from risotto. On the whole I could maybe see us revisiting this place. However, I gave it 4 stars because it’s a little pricey for us and there are other places at this price point that I would like think about before Senart’s.

3.5 The service here was good but the food was just okay. We made a reservation for dinner(LOL) not necessary the place was empty for most of the night. If you’ve been to Boxcar on 7th it’s pretty much the same restaurant(same owners) except a bit longer and skinnier inside. $ 22 cheese and charcuterie board was a big let down and lacked presentation. Two types of inexpensive cheese and one pile of low grade prosciutto. The board was supposed to have another meat on it but it came out with only one. A few minutes later a food runner brought us a plate of the same meat and set it down without explanation. Just don’t order this app. I ordered the salmon and my fiancé ordered the hanger steak. This steak was good, cooked over what he ordered but still tender and seasoned well. My salmon came on a bed of risotto with sautéed spinach. Again, it was fine but it honestly wasn’t anything I couldn’t have cooked(and do) cook at home. Cheese cake tasted like it was frozen and thawed. Our waiter was friendly and kept our drinks full. All in all just okay. I would come back for drinks at the bar but there are better restaurants on the strip.

The drinks are always excellent and the oysters on happy hour were decent. The ambiance both inside and on the patio are fantastic. Great spot for date night or meeting up with friends for happy hour. Also. Shaved brussel sprouts with bacon. Nom nom nom.

My favorite bar in the city. No frills just straight class and good service. I love cheese burgers and this IS my favorite in the city right now. Bartenders are clutch and treat everyone with L O V E. My favorite bar says enough… so please don’t come here OK. Thanks

Nom nom nom. Nice bourbon drinks(though the bartender wouldn’t make me any of the drinks on the menu, which was weird). Duck poutine is AMAZING, and I loved their cheesecake(not the crust, but the cake part). Friendly staff and the games are on!

Very small intimate & great for a date night. Picked this on a great night as the special was a healthy size prime rib with au jus and horseradish sauce. I did ask for medium well and was brought just medium, but I was not dissapointed. Very juicy, and a meal of its own, I almost forgot the potatoes I had as well. The rest of my party got the calamari, which was lightly bready and well seasoned, on the soft side. This followed by the petite steak which was asked to be medium well and was the opposote of my prime rib, very well done. My party almost dissapointed with the temperature was still very pleased by overall flavor. Will try again next time I’m in DC.

Greatly disappointed. The service received on a Friday night was severely lacking in quality. The menus provided on the table were dirty and no effort was made to replace them for ones not soiled with grease and food stains. The server seemed to not care at all about actually providing recommendations or service at all. When asked about oysters, the response was rolled eyes and rattling off the selections and price. Dinner entrees are hard to recommend. You’re better off going to Outback for a filet. It was dry and tasteless. However, the hamburger was actually good. Overall, you are better off spending $ 100 somewhere else where the service is much better and you aren’t bumped into by people walking past your table on the way to the bathroom.

Came here last year with a friend on a whim and it was awesome. We shared oysters and each had original Moscow mules which were to die for. Senarts is located off of 8th street by the Eastern market metro. It has some limited outdoor seating but nevertheless it’s perfect to sit outside on a nice day. The space inside is long and narrow, and certainly more of a bar than a restaurant feel. Oysters were really fresh and id recommend making this a place to go to before heading to a Nats game. They have happy hour and there’s many other bars you can hop over to if you want to hit more than one spot.

Very cool character to this place, I felt like I could be sitting next to George Washington. The salmon special of the day was INSANELY awesome. It may have been the best salmon I’ve ever had. Oysters were dirt cheap through 7PM so our table took down a dozen each but didn’t make the 7PM cutoff to get a dozen more. Dessert was ok but I was pretty full by then and on cloud 9 from the entrée. Great place for a romantic meal or a dinner with the guys, I’d definitely recommend checking it out.

I took my Mom here for our Mother’s Day brunch. I found this place on the web and it was a fantastic find! All the things they do with oysters is outstanding! I mean I could eat plain old raw oysters all day, but this place did a great job reinventing them for me in several different dishes. Mom and I shared a dozen oysters from all over Virginia, and I had the Eastern Shore Morning which is scrambled eggs, hash brown potatoes and fried oysters. Delicious! So rich and unlike anything I’ve tried with oysters before. Did I mention the bottomless mimosas? The look of the bar overall is beautiful as well. I really enjoyed looking over all the different photographs that represent DC. All I can say is MOREOYSTERSPLEASE!

Our oysters were crawling with little sandworms! If this is normal, than I’d give this place a top review. My boyfriend and I grabbed a quick drink and the oyster happy hour special there recently. However, we got a half dozen oysters, and only after eating them did we realize every single one was crawling with little bugs! For an oyster bar, it seemed odd that their oysters weren’t in top shape. If someone can confirm this is normal though, I’d give this place 4 stars!

After trying a sample from them at this year’s Taste of 8th, my husband was sold on their oysters, and wanted to have a real meal! We went last weekend and weren’t disappointed. I don’t do raw oysters, but my husband does, and he wasn’t phased by their prices. Everything else that we ordered was reasonably priced for what we got. Also, our waiter was very knowledgeable about the types of oysters they had and where they came from. He actually made a small mistake in the origin of the oysters that my husband ordered, and came back to correct himself. We ordered: –raw oysters(the premium ones from New Brunswick) –charcuterie board –clam chowder –mussels Everything was great — even the charcuterie board. I was a little surprised, since it’s a seafood restaurant! We will definitely be back. Also, FYI — there is a valet right in front of them, but Senart’s doesn’t validate for some reason. The valet was nice enough to give us the validated price anyway, but just be forewarned.
