I have been to see Bianca twice now for Baylayage highlights, and LOVE her work! I have dark blonde hair and wanted to lighten it up, and she has been great both times. My first appointment I wanted to stay subtle, and she worked with me to find the right color that wasn’t too crazy. My second time I wanted it to be more noticeable, and she did a fantastic job!
She is also professional and easy to talk to, making my appointments so enjoyable!

I’ve been going to Andrew for 12 years… Enough said. I followed him from another salon. Always get compliments on my highlights. Everyone is super friendly and nice at the salon.

Salim gives me straight up Duchess of Cambridge hair, end of. It’s hard to find a hairstylist that understands that I like to keep my long, fine but wavy/​curly hair intact without layers and without a complicated haircut. Salim gets that, and keeps my hair looking feminine and classic. I only go once or twice a year (I’m terrified of haircuts) but my hair stays looking fabulous for months! He’s GREAT at cutting curly hair, also! Ask for the «Marrakesh blowout» if you want lots of gorgeous volume. :)

Love Chevelle and love this place! Really great customer service. Such a friendly vibe and still very professional! The whole staff is super sweet and the new space is quaint and refreshing. Very happy and excited with the cut I received from Chevelle. Exactly what I wanted for the summer!

This salon is awesome! A nice atmosphere, and Chevelle did an excellent job on my haircut! It looked exactly the way I wanted it to look! Definitely recommend her and I will be back!

I should have made this review well over a month ago, but better late than never, right?! I wanted to lighten my hair as spring was approaching and was facing a big birthday. After doing research online as to the style and trends, I found the color and the technique that I thought would best suit me. Started my Unilocal search per usual and came upon the stylist Chevelle, who had awesome reviews.
I scheduled a consultation, which was free (compared to other salons who charge) to decide the color and the technique that was possible for my hair. The consultation was quick and she was professional in discussing what options I had. At the consultation, I scheduled my appointment. The day of appointment everything went smoothly and Chevelle was friendly, and attentive to my needs during the process. My hair color was exactly the color that I had chosen and super soft. It has taken me some time to adjust to going a super light color after being dark for so many years, but that is my issue of being slow to change. I’ve had regular compliments on my hair in regard to not only on the color but her placement of the highlights.
Overall, great experience with a price point that is typical for the DC area. I will definitely be back in the fall for lowlights!

After a few months of trying to find a new salon, I ended up here. The location is easy to find and convenient to the red line. The salon is cute and everyone was really personable. Good vibes.
I had a color appointment with Bianca. She’s quick, friendly and good at her job, and I really liked how it turned out. I’ll definitely be back. The prices are also very reasonable, especially for the neighborhood.

Bianca is the absolute best! Really great with my long hair that I am fairly terrible about taking care of. Always squeezes me in, I give her very little direction and I know I’m in the best hands! Posting pics in the pictures section of before and after! Truly impressive!

I went to Steve two weeks ago for a full balayage, and could not be happier! I was recommended to Steve by a friend (also a natural blonde) and always thought she had great color.
Since it was my first time with him, Steve walked me through the entire process, made sure we were on the same page when it came to my color, and gave me recommendations when I asked regarding my cut. I have had a very hard time finding a colorist that can do blonde highlights that still looks natural, but am thrilled that I finally found Steve! Almost two weeks after my appointment and my hair still looks great and is growing out super naturally!

This place has become my new addiction! The service is exceptional and I’m always pleased. I first came to get my hair colored by Chevelle in November after reading great reviews. She did an awesome job. She gave me suggestions (like getting a trim) as well as doing exactly what I asked. She did a blow-​dry and flat ironed it and it lasted about two weeks. I ended up coming back after three weeks and I’ve been making it a ritual. Not to mention the glass of wine that makes the experience a lot more relaxing

Great place to get your hair highlighted! Salim is amazing, he makes you feel warm and welcome when you enter the cozy salon. His work with highlights and cut keeps me coming back. He has even added a glossy toner sometimes or a extra moisturizer on to help protect my hair without additional costs if it really needed it to keep it always looking shiny. The woman who washes your hair is so sweet and takes her time so you really feel like you get a good scalp massage while getting your hair done too; it is a nice little perk which sweetens the all over experience.

Bianca was awesome! Everyone at the salon is super down-​to-​earth, friendly, and treat you like they’ve known you all their lives. A lot of DC salons are super stuffy, but this place manages to provide excellent quality and service without all the pretension of other local spots.

I have very curly, thick hair. Salim is the only hairdresser who has touched my hair in the last 15 years because he is amazing. He is god’s gift to those of us with curly hair. Before finding Salim, my life was series of bad haircuts. But with Salim in my life, my hair always looks amazing. He is a master at dealing with curly hair and finding a style that fits my needs (and those needs have definitely changed over the years!). If you have curly hair, Salim is your guy.
Salon Rouge in general is a really nice place. Decent prices, nice staff, and cool location.

I am a man with unruly, thick hair, that does not do well in DC’s humidity. I’m also fundamentally and unrepentantly lazy about my upkeep. Combined with my swarthiness, this doesn’t make for the most urbane of appearances on any given day.
After trying out several more expensive salons I wandered into Salon Rouge to purchase some shampoo (they are the only retailers of Kevin Murphy products in DC, FYI). I had just come from a haircut at a different salon, where they had lazily chopped off most of my mop. Steve and I struck up a conversation, and in the most polite of manners offered to amend some problem areas he could see poking through. Smarting from a haircut that I knew didn’t fit my head, I accepted.
I could immediately tell Steve was the kind of hairdresser that took great care with his clients. He explained in plain language what he was doing and why. He knew the problem areas with my hair (cowlicks for days) and suggested some methods for styling to get around these.
Steve provided much more than a haircut. He provided a styling routine that I could stick to. He showed me how he’d recommend trimming my beard and sideburns, something I had never paid much attention to before. Every visit he offers to do these without fail. I’ve paid twice as much for haircuts and not gotten as good of service.
I can’t recommend Steve enough. As far as the salon is concerned, they have always treated me well, and have a laid back vibe.

First off, my hair was a mess before coming to Bianca.
I have really tiny bald spots throughout, edges were thinning and she has bought it back to life. My hair is so much more thicker, healthy and super soft. She has really taken good care of my hair. And it’s really showing! Thank you, Bianca

Steve has been coloring my hair for almost 2 years now and has done a wonderful job! I often walk into the salon with some half-​baked idea of what I want with my color, and Steve is able to figure it out and deliver. He also does a great job with corrective color – my previous salon had done a number on my hair, but you couldn’t tell anything had even gone wrong with it after one appointment with Steve. He also does an awesome job with my haircuts. I’m one of those people that gets really nervous about losing any length on my hair, but Steve is able to get enough hair off that it looks healthy and well-​shaped without taking off length. He’s amazing, and I would highly recommend him to any blonde looking for awesome cuts/​color!

Andrea Earls is absolutely the best hairstylist, colorist, I would recommend for any man or any women for their inner. DIVA. trust me. .you can’t go wrong. .!

Horrible! I booked an appointment based on a recommendation. I currently go to Logan 14 (have been for over 4 years) but thought I would try a new salon because I heard fantastic things about their service. So… I booked with Andrea for a service at 5. Received a voicemail from the front desk that she had a cancellation and I could come down earlier, which I did. When I arrived, they tried to pawn me off on another stylist. She left for the day. Down right rude! They should have called me and offered someone else before I came down. After all, I specifically asked for her by name when I made the appointment. Plain unprofessional. Front desk person could only give a half baked «oh sorry». Just called the person who referred me and shared my experience. I’ll stick with my current salon. The grass is not always greener.

I’ve gone to Bianca 3 or 4 times and she gets my hair right everytime!!! I have thick coarse Asian hair but Bianca knows exactly what I need when I come in for a cut. I highly recommend her!

I’ve been going to Bianca since I moved to DC. She is GREAT. I’m very picky about haircuts, and she always listens to what I want. I highly recommend!
