A wonderful addition to the Georgetown area and I hope it comes back! We really enjoyed coming here for lunch and enjoying the healthy, flavorful, and beautiful lunches. They had some very interesting creations and combinations and I loved the new pairings of unlikely ingredients. I really liked the East Meets West hummus dish. The atmosphere is also really cute and fun. There is so much attention to detail creating the Mediterranean/Middle Eastern vibe. The dishes were a little bit pricy as it’s hummus but the portions are large and perfect to share for two people. Each dish comes with fresh, warm bread in two flavors, white and wheat. Both are good and perfect for dipping. Hope to come back again someday! Also the staff were super friendly and nice and there was a no tipping policy! Interesting and nice concept.

Everything was delicious! We got a Mezza plate and Hummus plate. Loved the ginger hummus the best! We asked for more carrots to dip and they were very accommodating. When we took home our leftovers, they gave us extra pita bread too! How nice was that? I wish this place was permanent!!! Saw the salads and sandwiches ordered by other customers— it all looked amazing!!!

I had walked by the Sabra Hummus House earlier in October and seen that it was only there for four weeks, from Sept 29-Oct 26th. So I was super excited when I saw that I would get to try it though a Unilocal event! I arrived a little after one on a Friday and it was very busy downstairs. It seems to be a popular lunch break destination. Impressive for only having been at this location for three weeks. The hostess notified me that the Unilocal event was upstairs. The upstairs room was light and open with windows facing Wisconsin St. On the white bricked wall there was a beautiful design with Sabra Hummus house painted in the center. We took our seats and proceeded to enjoy the delicious appetizer plate of veggies(Local Pickle Platter). All of the veggies were fresh and delicious. I especially enjoyed the dill pickles, beets, and radishes. Soon the head chef, Mary Albright came to our table and gave a brief presentation of the various foods we would be trying for lunch. She informed us that all of the produce used was hand picked by her at a local farmers market. I could tell! Everything was fresh and bursting with flavor. We began with a delicious standard hummus with warm, fresh pita bread. We were then served three samplings of creamy hummus topped with edamame, pepitas, or roasted chickpeas(East Meets West). All three were delicious and delightfully unique. The Baba Ganoush was delicious! I especially appreciated the garlic seasoning used, it was my favorite! We then had the main dish of Overstuffed Pita. They were beautifully presented and just the right amount of sustenance after the appetizers. I was so happy to take one home and enjoyed it for lunch the next day! With my lunch I had the Pomegranate lemonade. It was good, but a little too sugary sweet for my taste. Next time I would go with a coke. For dessert we had some scrumptious Nutella chocolate chip cookies! The dessert menu is not set, being whatever the chef decides to make or have on hand that day. I’m glad it was these cookies because they were fantastic! Throughout the meal the service was impeccable with our drinks being refilled, spoons brought for the hummus and dishes cleared when finished. Mary Beth Albright was a fabulous, attentive host and was very considerate of any questions that we had. I really enjoyed hearing her stories about the various dishes and her experience working at Sabra Hummus House. If you haven’t been to Sabra Hummus House yet you need to try it! Hurry you only have one week left!

Yes, it is a hummus house. And yes, it is pretty«basic.» But the food is delicious and the prices are not so bad, given the middle-of-Georgetown location. For two people for lunch and drinks, our total came to $ 28ish and we still had food left over. The menu items the chef has come up with using Sabra’s delicious hummus as a base are pretty impressive. Probably my favorite thing was the«East Meets West» hummus sampler and specifically the hummus with sesame oil, shelled edamame and crystallized ginger. Definitely going to recreate this at home. Also, the pitas are pretty big, warm, fluffy and with plenty of surface area to swipe those dips up. Service was great, but I found this a little odd — they don’t take tips. At least that’s what our server told us. It says a lot that the service(in our case) was still great given this fact — shows that the employees care for the«pop up» to be successful, which was encouraging to see.

About a 4.5: Who doesn’t like(love) hummus?! I’m a huge fan of Sabra’s hummus line, and was I surprised when I saw a Sabra pop-up restaurant while driving to work! Their menu is described as ‘hummus forward’ and Chef Mary Beth Albright is the one who’s running the kitchen(was on the ‘Next Food Network Star’). The menu offers items such as: entrees(creating-your-own-hummus with roasted peppers, sauteed mushrooms, arugula salad, baba ghanouj, pico de gallo, and/or 2Armadillos(awesome chickpeas; can find them at Whole Foods)), paninis, tostadas, and turkey sandwiches; sides(pickle platter, vegetable plate, salads, guacamole & chips, and baba ghanouj & chips; special desserts daily; kid’s options; and, beverages(Izze, lemonade, pomegranate lemonade, etc.). I wanted to try the Hummus Panini, but they were out, but they had a ‘Stuffed Pita’ instead, which was stuffed with lemon chicken, mixed greens, and roasted red peppers, all in a whole wheat pita. This was pretty okay. My favorites, however, was the ‘East Meets West’ Sabra Signature, which came with 3(very generous) samplings: hummus topped with edamame, crystallized ginger, & sesame oil; hummus topped with salty roasted pepitas & pumpkin oil; and, hummus topped with 2Armadillos crispy rosemary roasted chickpeas and preserved lemons. SOGOOD!!! The hot thick/soft/fluffy pita bread(1) that comes with was great, and you can also request for refills! I also tried their Local Pickle Platter, which came with Fresh Crunch pickled cucumbers and radishes; however, I didn’t see any carrots or the cauliflower(but, stated on the menu :(To wash it all down, I had the Pomegranate Lemonade, which was refreshing, but came in a small glass. Water was served in small jam jars, which I thought was really cute! The manager on site was really nice and took our orders. This Hummus House plans on donating $ 25K to the National Future Farmers of America scholarship program, which I think is pretty neat, and gratuity is not required(but, I suggest you do for any awesome service anyways). This pop-up will run until October 26th, for lunch on weekdays only(11AM-3PM), so I highly suggest in you checking it out before it disappears! +pop-up restaurant; until 10⁄26th! +open for lunch on weekdays only, 11AM-3PM +get your hummus on with the East Meets West Sabra Signature: D +a little pricey and make sure you check your orders!
