This review is from my husband, who visited Dr. Emery last week: After years of putting it off, I finally made the decision to have one of my wisdom teeth removed. After a lot of searching online I came across Dr. Emery’s name, and could not have been happier! Dr. Emery is friendly, caring, and takes the time to listen to your concerns. His office staff are pleasant and courteous too. And as for the procedure itself — it was so quick and painless I was amazed. I had three sleepless night leading up to the surgery(yes, I was THAT scared) but there is nothing to be afraid of when you are in Dr. Emery’s skilled hands. I hardly felt the local anesthetic, and after it had taken effect I felt no pain as the tooth was being removed. I even got to pick what music to listen while the surgery was being done. I was out of the doctor’s office in thirty minutes and sent home with meds, gauze, and instructions. The first few hours after the anesthetic wears off are not fun, but thereafter all you can expect is a stiff jaw(that’s if you follow the instructions so as not to get«dry socket»). I was called later in the week by one of Dr. Emery’s nurses to check that I was ok. The whole experience was so simple I feel fortunate to have found Dr. Emery. If you are in need any work done in your mouth/jaw, pay this doctor a visit! I cannot recommend him enough.

Before you make an appointment, better check first to make sure they take your insurance! But even then… beware that he will recommend procedures and scans that are unnecessary. He charged $ 134 to diagnose a swollen area where a wisdom tooth was removed by another surgeon. He then wanted to do scans and more surgery which would have cost more than $ 600 out of pocket. I decided to go to another oral surgeon who just prescribed a stronger antibiotic and no surgery. Everything is fine now and I’m glad I avoided unnecessary surgery and saved money.

I first visited Dr Emery in May 2012. The root of one of my front upper teeth was cracked and an infection had developed. The tooth had to be extracted and an implant had to be put in place. During my first visit, Dc Emery took time to explain the situation and the options available. He also went through the total cost of the procedure, step by step, informing me what would be covered by my insurance, what would not, and letting me decide what I wanted to do. He extracted my tooth a couple of weeks later, and did a bone graft which was necessary due to the extent of bone loss. The surgery went extremely well and his office followed up with me afterwards to ensure I was OK. In September, after having taken x-rays to ensure the bone had grown back, Dr Emery placed the implant. Again, this surgery went extremely well. Again, later that day his office called me to ensure I was OK. Having a front tooth extracted, and living with a retainer until an implant is in place, is not a nice experience. Yet, thanks to Dr Emery and his team, I was confident I was in good hands. Dr Emery is not only a highly skilled professional, abreast of the latest developments in his field. He is very attentive to the needs of his patients and their concerns, and takes time to explain the procedure. He also has a keen sense of humor, which does not hurt when you have an appointment to have your teeth extracted. His assistants are kind, skilled and professional. The staff at the reception is very patient and helpful. I highly recommend Dr Emery and his team.

I want to grow new wisdom teeth so he can take them out again. Seriously, what an amazingly painless experience. Not the actual pulling of the teeth and the healing afterwards(that was awful.) But having Dr. Emery as an oral surgeon, that part, wonderful. Dr. Emergy himself is friendly, knowledgeable, and the type of person who puts you instantly at ease. Which is alot to say for a dentist. But his office staff are also absolute dolls, friendly and helpful and kind. Appointments are always on time, they help file your insurance for you, and they call to check up on you after the surgery(numerous times.) They also give you Dr. Emery’s home number, and honestly, I would not have felt afraid to call it in an emergency. All in all a good experience. I would have him as my regular dentist if I could!
