Awesome value! I honestly wasn’t expecting much considering it is definitely on the cheaper side, but the pizza was actually better than some of the expensive«gourmet» pizzas places around that I’ve tried. I love the build-your-own concept with unlimited toppings. No extra charge for veggies and meat — you can add whatever you want(though I believe there was an extra charge for vegan cheese instead of regular cheese). The tomato sauce was nice and tangy and the crust both chewy and vaguely salty. Overall, would definitely come back and try different combinations!

Pizza was fantastic. Price was cheap. Service was quick and cooks were very nice. (1÷12÷16 ~7PM)

(3.5 stars) One of a number of individual pizza pie places to pop up in the DuPont area, and it’s pretty solid. Super reasonably priced with a variety of opinions(although the vegetable topping selection was a bit underwhelming relative to the others). I was a big fan of the firecracker crust which provided a nice little kick. Also, having chicken sausage was a nice surprise, really wasn’t expecting that. I will say though that I think they are a little less generous on toppings, especially meat, than other personal pie joints are. At the end of the day though, it’s hard to argue with a customized, filling, and pretty tasty pie for $ 8. I’m actually kind of excited to try a different combination next time, maybe some spicy buffalo sauce and Jamaican jerk spice…

Three and a half stars. A little greasier than &pizza and equally customizable(if not more so with the crust flavors– I find firecracker to be just spicy enough), but thinner crust, tasty, and generous enough with toppings that slices may require two hands. Comparable prep time, polite service, a more spacious interior with lots of seating, a wall of local art, and a solid alt-rock background playlist. The Beast is our favorite of their signature combinations(#carnivores), closely followed by the Moroccan, but the sausage & peppers and buffalo chicken were alright too. Good pricing on bottled beer. Just across the street from the Dupont Metro Station south exit, for your sobering-up /inexpensive lunch needs. Reheat in the oven, not in the microwave. Will be back to see how their BBQ chicken is!

You ever take a bite of something and have it be exactly what you were craving even though you didn’t know it? That was my 1st Pizza Studio experience. I walked in and the place was mostly empty(it was after 7:30 on a Wed). I was greeted by two different employees. Chris, who made my pizza, was incredibly cheerful and friendly and just generally improved the whole experience and ensured I will be back. I would probably be back anyway, because I am in south Dupont often and I was starting to get sick of Panera and Cosi. Back to the food — the crust was the perfect texture, the cheese melted beautifully, the veggies were roasted to perfection and cut to the perfect size, and the addition of garlic(and a little truffle salt, at Chris’s suggestion) topped it off beautifully. I can’t be sure every experience will be this good, but I am will definitely be back to find out.

The whole art studio vibe thing is somewhere between cool and gimmicky(though I lean slightly towards the former), and this place has a prime location right outside the Dupont metro stop, the people are always friendly, and the build your own pizza model is nice. But I have one problem with this place: the pizza just isn’t that good. For one thing, the choices of ingredients are weak. They’ve got an unnecessary five different crusts, but no vegetarian proteins to speak of, and their vegetable selection is odd and uninspiring. Do I want pineapple or zucchini on my pizza? No. But I’d settle for some spinach. For another, the ingredients just aren’t that good. The cheese isn’t fresh and tastes very basic(albeit markedly improved with the addition of goat cheese or feta), and the crusts, while occasionally tasty, are so thin they really aren’t filling. On the plus side, they do have a gluten free crust and vegan cheese(which costs extra for some incomprehensible reason when literally everything else is one price), so at least most people can get by. But that’s all you can do, get by. On an island, I might be inclined to let them off with three stars, but the reality is, they’re a block away from &pizza, where I can go and yes, pay a little more, but get a pizza that’s twice as filling with much more diverse and better quality stuff on top of it. Sorry, but there’s just no comparison

What lunch in Dupont for $ 7.99(not including drink) and not«fast food»?!? Pizza is soo good! They have their specials and then you can make your own. All cooks in 2 mins, you can be in and out of this place 15 mins tops! Thin crust pizza(you have your choice of crusts, the rosemary is good, but tends to be oily), fresh veggie toppings, cheese, meat, yum! Service there is very friendly! Sometimes they tend to be a little rushed, but overall good service.

I live, eat, and breathe pizza. Like literally if I was stuck on a deserted island with one food item to eat for the rest of my life, I would choose pizza. So when I heard that this«make your own» pizza concept had evolved in D.C. to include an option not called«& Pizza» I was thrilled. Pizza Studio is a thin crust pizza where almost every aspect from crust, toppings, meats, and garnishes are able to be customized. I personally enjoy the spicy firecracker crust or the rosemary herb. Then I literally heap on every single topping. It goes through the oven pretty quickly and if you’re sitting down at the restaurant they even bring it to your table. Nice perks include the loyalty program you get registered for with an e-mail and the fact that they donate money to the local community. All for ~$ 9, it’s not a shabby deal. In comparison to some other local make your own pizza places, Pizza Studio definitely tastes healthier and is definitely a thinner crust /more bougie and artisan. But, for the quantity, price, and variety of toppings, you have to go to & Pizza.

Absolutely scrumptious! Great DIY thin crust pizzas with *unlimited* toppings for 8 bucks a pop, and they taste splendid. Tried the Rosemary herb and Firecracker crusts and they were so good we came back the next day for more. Very friendly service, ready in two minutes, crisp yet chewy crust, fresh toppings and cheese in generous amounts, full of aroma and nicely spiced. I recommend the chipotle powder garnish. Great place for vegetarians too. Two thumbs up!

I first came to Pizza Studio for their pre-opening event back in April. It was a really good pizza, just like &pizza, Veloce, Pie Five, and Blaze. Each of these shops has something that sets it apart from the others. During the month of June, they were offering $ 5 pizzas(any pizza, you can even create your own) during happy hour 5 – 8PM. It works just like many of the other competitors, you first choose your crust: traditional, whole grain & flax seed, rosemary herb, firecracker or gluten-free, then a sauce: tomato blend, basil pesto, tangy BBQ, extra virgin olive oil, and spicy Buffalo. Then there’s your choice of feta, goat, or grated mozzarella cheese. Then there is a plethora of vegetables, roasted vegetables, and premium meats. You can spice it up with Chipotle and/or Garlic Powder, Jamaican Jerk and/or Old Bay Seasoning, and there’s my favorite, the Truffle Salt! Every pizza is complemented with Italian herbs and brushed with garlic olive oil. Once baked, you can finish it off with basil, tangy BBQ, balsamic glaze, and/or chopped cilantro. I created my own pizza with the whole grain/flax seed crust, with basil pesto, mozzarella, every vegetable on the menu except jalapenos and pineapples, and it was topped with chicken breast, basil, cilantro and truffle salt. Don’t forget to sign up for their loyalty program to get a free birthday pizza and one point for every dollar spent. One hundred points gets you a free pizza! Plus every 20 points earned Pizza Studio will donate a meal to Feeding America. The restaurant is also decorated with local artists’ work, I took a photo of a painting of the US Capitol building on sale for $ 225. I hope that Pizza Studio will open more locations in the DC Metro area, I am only aware of another location in Baltimore. The pizza boxes are recyclable, and if you can’t eat the entire pie in one sitting, you can get a box to go that says, «See you in the morning?» I can hear my Dad saying, «PIZZAFORBREAKFAST?» My response? «Nom, Nom, Yeah!»

Pizza Studio you’re so delicious. While I usually admire the chefs with confident«no substitutions» policies that include lines like, «if you don’t like it the way we serve it, you don’t have to pay for it” – there’s something to be said about customization. Everyone has their favorite things on a pizza, for my boyfriend it’s a mountain of pineapple and sausage; for me it’s selecting every off-the-wall option(think: white sauce; BBQ chicken pizza; or «a bunch of fresh arugula after baking»). I also want a little bit of everything, and Pizza Studio is PERFECT for that. I ordered a: Rosemary Thyme crust + pesto basil sauce + mozzarella + red onion + roasted red peppers+ artichoke hearts + pepperoni + chicken + spicy sausage. I was divine. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful, and they were generous in serving! Potential Improvements: the process could be sped up by labeling the toppings. While it seems obvious in most cases, everyone in line had at least one question about the protein. I also await their liquor licensing, because the happy hour potential is prime.

I’m addicted to this place. I’ve been 3 times in a matter of 7 days and I only work in DC5 days a week! I just love the service, food, location, and price. I think it’s fresh oregano that does the trick for me. The ingredients always taste fresh and so tasty! Only advice I would give them is to get stickers for the glass to label the toppings. There are a few things that I have no idea what they are so I never get them.

Great pizza. They’re running happy hour starting at 5pm for $ 5(any pizza in the menu). Not sure what’s in their pizza but it makes you very very thirsty after eating. Staff are friendly and they’re not stingy with the portions.

I came here on opening night when I saw a dcist post that exclaimed free pizza! Well, who am I to pass that up? It was quite a bit of a wait– an hour and a half at least. But it was totally worth it! Ehh… in my hunger delusions I thought it was, anyway. It is comparable to the &pizza chain but I think I like Pizza Studio better. The crust is thinner but the pizza is larger. All my toppings were fresh and delicious(I ordered broccoli, pepperoni, chicken sausage, red peppers, and tomato on the original crust). There is a Moroccan option(not sure what this is, but sounds good) which I definitely want to try next time. Pizza studio is right by my language class and when I’m running from work to class I always need to grab a quick bite. Pizza studio adds a great, quick option in the area that is a much needed improvement from cosi or panera. I would definitely come back to pay for pizza here, sans the wait.

I was very pleased with my first experience here, despite the directions being incorrect. They are on 19th and had me walking around for a bit until I located it as clear as can be on my way back to the office. Super friendly service and you have a few ways to start off your pie and after that, you have unlimited toppings and there were many. I had broccoli, pepperoni, jalapenos, mushroom with the spicy crust and buffalo sauce. Made in 5 minutes and I was on my way. It stayed very hot for my 10 minute walk back to the office and it was super tasty. Almost too much for one sitting and about $ 8.50 which was inexpensive in my opinion. I recommend you checking them out.

The pizza was ok, not filling since crust was so thing(to cook in 2 minutes) and despite the whole«unlimited toppings» thing they were very stingy on the toppings. I had four different toppings on my pizza but they drizzled just a tiny bit around of each that I still barely saw the toppings. On top of that, today they’re closed for a health code violation. Oops. Check photos above.

For what you get, there should be #nocomplaints. It’s a bargain and a great one at that in Dupont Circle! Service — Super friendly. As soon as you walk inside you are greeted by multiple staff members! Food — The only thing I didn’t love is that their window decals say the pizzas cook in two minutes but it takes about five. Not bad obviously, but not correct advertising. The pizza is good for thin crust and at $ 8 for unlimited toppings and all the meats you desire? #nocomplaints! Ambiance — Yes, this place is comparable to &pizza but the décor and atmosphere here is much nicer. Wood all around and super clean. BONUS! They support local artists and you can buy their pieces off the wall. I loved that.

Pizza for lunch! I went to the opening day and tried their peppers and sausage pizza. I like that the pizza was made fast and I had a choice of unlimited toppings. The seating area is nice and they had comfortable chairs. You can also order online. In this area where lunch can cost the same as a dinner entre, Pizza Studio is a good choice at valuable price.

Note: Despite the mailing address, the entrance is on 19th St. Went to Pizza Studio on opening day, which was pretty awesome, as they gave away free pizza(and actually donated $ 2 to Capital Area Food Bank for each!) The place was predictably mobbed, but the space is nice and large, and the staff was only slightly overwhelmed. The concept is a familiar one, as Pizza Studio is the third make-your-own-pizza fast casual restaurant of its type to open in «Dupont South,» with &Pizza opening weeks ago, and DC Pizza about a year before — there’s a fourth on the way too! —, so competition will be tough. But the concept is a good one: You select your dough, sauce, cheese, and as many toppings as you want(the guy in front of me asked for«All of the meats» — there are many), the pizza goes through the oven, and is ready two minutes later. I stuck with traditional crust, though there are some intriguing options like rosemary and«firecracker,» as well as standard sauce/cheese. Toppings range from fresh veggies(mushrooms, onions, artichokes, etc.) to cooked ones(caramelized onions, broccoli, etc), and, as I mentioned, a ton of meats. The resulting«masterpiece»(yes, that’s what the employee called it when she handed it to me) is pretty solid. First of all, Pizza Studio’s is round(rather than the ovals from down the street), which actually leaves more surface area for cheese and toppings. My co-worker described it as «like a really good frozen pizza,» which was mostly a compliment — the crust is thin yet kinda chewy, California Pizza Kitchen Style. Some may prefer that, and I liked it… but I wish it were a bit more crispy and«homemade» seeming. The toppings are the pizza’s biggest strength — I’ll probably get even more next time. The size is pretty large, a good meal for one person, or a snack for two, I’d say? The price, at $ 8 for unlimited toppings($ 7 for cheese only) makes it the best value among the make-your-own-pizza joints. Salads, at $ 7 for unlimited toppings, seems like a pretty great deal too(as does the«side portion» caesar salad at $ 3, or $ 4 with chicken). Looking forward to returning to try other crusts and deciding where Pizza Studio stands in the very close Dupont South Pizza Race.

Pizza with a conscience! I love that Pizza Studio is committed to feeding hungry families across America. They donate whatever food product that they do not use to local food banks — great way to cut down on food waste and feeding those in need! I also like Pizza Studio’s art theme, from their pizza and paintbrush logo to their«Starving Artists» wall where local artists can exhibit and sell their work. This is the first Pizza Studio location in the District(there’s one in Baltimore). It is a fast-casual pizza restaurant and the concept is similar to DC Pizza and &pizza — funny enough, I spotted Sam B. from &pizza there… checking out the competition? You get to create your own 11 inch thin-crust«masterpiece» pizza by choosing your crust(there are 5 options!), sauce, cheese, and UNLIMITED amount of toppings, all for $ 7.99 — a bargain! There are also 9 «studio masterpieces» that you can choose from if you don’t want to create your own pizza, which are $ 7.99 each as well. Even though the line was huge, ordering was quick and easy. I created my own pizza with whole grain & flax seed crust, basil pesto sauce, freshly grated mozzarella cheese, and the following toppings: roma tomatoes, sliced mushrooms, zucchini, roasted broccoli, crispy bacon, all natural chicken breast, and truffle salt. My pizza was ready in no time and it was delicious! Also, service was friendly and attentive. Staff came around to each table to check on how diners were doing and to remove trash. If you are looking for a tasty and inexpensive pizza alternative in the Dupont Circle area, Pizza Studio is the place to go!
