Awww, Peet’s. The closest coffee place to my old office and a frequent meeting place for those DC meetings. It’s a go-to meeting place for so many folks that: a) You’ll never know who you will run into. b) It’s almost always difficult to snag a seat. They’ve got free wifi. The line moves swiftly. Drinks are ready swiftly. The prices aren’t too shabby. They’ve got a decent mix of iced, hot, coffee, tea, and smoothie drinks. It’s nothing to crave or miss, but it’s got the makings of an a-ok to place drop in for a caffeine fix and/or a work meeting.

I had a quick breakfast here the other day. I had a cappuccino as well as a maple chicken breakfast sandwich. While I have nothing negative to complain about the coffee, the breakfast sandwich was so greasy it was dripping from the paper bag it was wrapped in. The taste was bordering on artificial, and the only reason I managed to eat it was because I was too hungry to care. Go here for coffee. If you care about breakfast, go somewhere else.

I used to come in when it was Caribou Coffee but I thought I’d try it out since Groupon had a $ 5 for $ 10 deal. The inside layout didn’t change all that much – it just has Peet’s instead of Caribou. I didn’t really care for their drinks(I have their Chai, Cinnamon Hazelnut latte and Pumpkin spiced latte). I had better at Pret a Manger. Also, it takes a while to get your drink. They have a promotion on Unilocal where if you check in, you can get a $ 1.00 off holiday drinks. I did this but two out of the three baristas didn’t know what I was talking about. Shouldn’t all of their staff know about store promotions? I wouldn’t say that the service was terrible but it wasn’t great either. I doubt I’d come back to this location anytime soon.

Friendly staff but in the morning it takes foreverrrr to get your drink. Even at like 10 am, which I consider to be outside of the morning rush. But they are very nice! and it’s very nice in there!

A Peet’s is a Peet’s is a Peet’s…but there is something really nice about this Peet’s. The layout, the fresh bean displays, the vibe/buzz. I really liked this Peet’s…and the service was really great.

My favorite Peet’s so far! I love the seating available and it’s very clean. I’ve also been very satisfied with the customer service. Everyone that has served me so far has been very cheery.

Peets coffee is my favorite brew. Unfortunately, their customer service is my least favorite of all the coffee shops I’ve been to. Today at the Monterey store there were 4 people behind the counter(and often are) and I stood waiting, again, for no apparent reason. When I did ask why we were waiting I was told it’s change of shift. No one ever looked up, or greeted, or told customers«we’ll be right with you». Nada. This store will be my last choice for coffee stop for this reason– bad customer service.

I really loved this place when they were formerly Caribou. It took me some time to get used to the new establishment but so far it’s been a good experience. They have really great coffee and outstanding customer service. I am always greeted warmly. One of my favorite staffers is April. She is so sweet and accommodating at all times! Go here for beverages only! While the pastries are good, they are overpriced for what they give you. One slice of banana nut bread is $ 2.50 and its smaller than the height of a standard post it note and about 1in thick. I could have ordered a whole sandwich somewhere else and paid less!

Came to this spot for a Denard Span meet and greet. Had a large Green Tea Ice Tea. Good price and tasted good. While in line they gave out samples of a Caramel Ice Coffee. That too was good. Good alternative when Starbucks isn’t available.

Great Location(Near the Farragut North Station) and near Bar Code. The only issue with this place as well as any other DC coffee place is the fact that it is really hard to find a place to sit. The coffee is okay. At least it is better than Starbucks, but I see it as coffee on par with Pret A Manger or Cosi. It is not top grade coffee, but it seems deeper than Starbucks. I usually come here and just order a drink and walk out. Lately, they are doing happy hour Javiva, which is good. I like getting the Matcha green tea without whipped cream(it is sweet enough).

I love Peets! I came here today and ordered a large vanilla latte with half the amount of vanilla. Having been a barista previously I understand when things get mixed up sometimes, I got my latte and took a sip and realized it had the full amount of vanilla, I tried to just drink it as I don’t want to be a problem customer but I just couldn’t, it was too sweet. I went in and let the baristas know, they were amazingly sweet and re-made my drink to perfection! And gave me a coupon for a free Peets later on! Thanks Peets for always being top notch from the west to the east coast!

The tile out front no longer seems to be an issue. This place is a dream in the off-hours outside of lunch, a.m. rush, and evening rush hour. there’s no line if you time it just right in the 2pm hour. Bathrooms are clean, staff is awesome. The coffee is still too bitter for my taste but I do like their teas and on occasion a cappuccino. I come here at least twice a week — often with a gaggle of coworkers.

Great Peet’s Location. I work nearby so I stop in at this Peet’s regularly, perhaps almost daily. Peet’s consistently delivers good coffee, and the baristas know their stuff when it comes to lattes and espresso drinks. I’ve never had an overly milky or or overly syrupy latte similar to the drinks I’ve gotten at some Starbucks’ locations I’ve visited nearby. The staff and baristas are really friendly. There’s often lines on weekday mornings because it’s popular, but there’s never a long wait. There’s also a great working space, with lots of tables and wifi access, if you are looking for a coffee shop to get work done.

Peets was my favorite chain coffee house when I was in California, so I was pretty happy to see it in DC when I was visiting. This place is bad though… those of you from CA, don’t expect the same experience. First of all, it is SLOW. I waited a good 10min(for 2 cappuccinos), and I was the first in line. Initially, the barista overpoured the milk/foam into the cup, so it spilt out of the cup onto the table. So she had to start all over again(I was looking right at her, and she said something about the milk from that batch not being great anyway). Then she took forever to make the next 2. It was kind of ridiculous. The coffee tasted kind of burned as well. Definitely not as good as a west coast cup of Peets. Advice for management: train your staff how to make coffee! It’s amateur hour in this store. If I’m ever in the area again, I’ll go to Starbucks instead(I can’t believe I just said that I’ll choose Starbucks over Peets!)

Staff watched me come in set up my laptop and let me order and pay before letting me know their wifi was down. The wifi had been down all morning, the least they could do is put a sign up. Will not visit again.

Just because I like cappuccinos doesn’t mean I want one when I order a latte. Also, my latte was made half from one leftover milk canister, then finished up with newly steamed milk. While I’m sure the(older) milk was still sitting at the correct temperature, it’s like when cheap buffet places simply pour the freshly cooked food over the old food instead of actually replacing the platter. Stick with the drip.

Tried Peet’s for the first time in LA and the wifey& I were hooked. If I had to compare, it is similar to Starbucks’ offerings but different in its own way. The coffee has a more robust flavor and their frozen drinks are crazy delicious. Oh, and since I’m a tea drinker, their version of a hot Green Tea is superior in my honest opinion. They’ve expanded to the DC area and hopefully will continue to grow out. I love SB as much as the next person and as much I love a great mom & pop joint, sometimes when you’ve got that coffee itch, only the chain places have the location to scratch it.

I honestly like their coffee very much. It is a nice change for me from SB. The inside looks almost the same layout as the predecessor Caribou, but all brand new. Just opened today at the corner of 17th& L streets NW. This one is across the street from a Potbelly.(Their first DC location at 17th& Penn is right next to a Potbelly. Is this just a coincidence?)
