If this is the one at the Verizon Center… STAYAWAY. I went there about 9:30AM on a Sunday and the service was bad… but that’s not the reason I warn you not to go there. First off let me say, I am not some sort of cold, heartless or uncaring person. That being said, there must have been at least 15 homeless people just sitting there. The place smelled awful, it was dirty and quite frankly I didnt feel safe. My 23 year old daughter didnt want to leave me alone so she stayed with me instead of going to the Dunkin Donuts next store(which also had awful service). This was by far the worst McD I have ever gone to.

They get 2 stars because they got my order wrong. One of the workers was visibly eating behind the counter and one cashier looked like she’d just rolled out of bed becaUw her hair was uncombed and she had an in pen shoved in her hair. She was yawning at the register without covering her mouth. She also had an unpleasant demeanor. Also, whatever happened to hair nets? They all had long hair that wasn’t netted and no hats.

Normally, I wouldn’t find it necessary to write a review for McDonald’s. Frankly, if you’re going to this type of eatery, you know what to expect. I assume most of us think of McDonald’s as an option for quick, inexpensive food that’s not particularly healthy or made with a «foodie» in mind, so we don’t usually look for reviews before going. In this case however, I must take a moment to share some praise. If you find yourself craving those famous salty McDonald’s fries, or that classic little cheeseburger, the staff here will not disappoint! I’m new to the area, so I can only speak about the current owners and staff, but I think they’re fabulous. Not OT has my food been good, but the floors, tables, and bathrooms have always been very clean as well. Do note, I think they put a great deal of effort into preparing your food in small, fresh batches, so you may wait a bit longer than usual for your order. It’s worth it! My fries have always been hot and delicious! If you appreciate a hard working crew preparing your combo, you’ll be happy you visited this location.

Hiding behind the FBI building, in downtown DC, this McDonald’s has one of the most aesthetic and best dining areas for a fast food eatery; but, most customers opt for take-out. Orders are taken effectively and executed efficiently, making this McDonald’s a good candidate for busy Federal employees who need to get their bagged lunches and head back to their offices.

Tourists. Homeless people. Slow staff. Randomly long and unexpected lines. These are things I’ve come to expect at Mickey Ds in larger metropolitan cities. Washington DC, along with the other chain-y bizes in Penn Quarter is by no means any exception. Also of no surprise, this McDonalds is among the many that have been renovated to adhere to the new contemporary interior. It’s narrow in these parts and even sports some patriotism with an American flag above the cash registers. ‘Murica enthusiasts, be happy there is a little red, white, and blue to go along with your big mac. Some might be wondering about the generous three star rating and I can easily say it has nothing to do with my extra crunchy fish filet or my very crispy carcinogen laced fries. It’s not even the staff, which surprisingly sport decent attitudes despite being hassled by strange crowds on a daily basis. No, it’s all due to their automatic fan /weather control that starts blowing air as soon as one opens the door. During the winter, it’s a blast of heat; however, doing the summer, it’s a crackling of cold air. Humidity is no joke in DC or the fact I could score a freezing gust of arctic chills before seating it up all over again. Another plus? The bathrooms were sparklingly clean.

This place is kind of across from the FBI and the most indifferent service I have ever seen. There are lost of bad McDonalds’ in the area — I don’t like the one a couple blocks down towards Judiciary Square, and I hate the one on 14th and F. But for those its mostly the clientele. Here the staff doesn’t speak English and doesn’t even try to make an effort. I’ve been here once. After that experience if I’m in the area I always make sure to walk by and go to the NY Ave/13th or even the one towards Judiciary Square. This one is just too frustrating. There are billions of McDonaldses in this area, so don’t try this one. NY Ave/13th is by far the best around here.

Food is McDonalds– tastes the same everywhere. The breakfast staff is REALLY slow, and they just bark your order number. But, man, I’ve loved the hash browns since I was a kid…

the reality is mcdonalds on the TV commericals are nothing like mcdhonalds in DC! mcdonalds are essentially all the same in the states and i would typically give any chain resturants-espically large national ones a 3 stars– and it works its self up or down per service; so this mcdonalds in DC get a ONE star! primarily due to lack of serivce– friendliness, organization, and speed. maybe this mcdonalds is so lucarative the manager there doesnt give a crap about quality service!

Typical McDonalds food but this location can be crowded during the entire day with office workers getting breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack. The lines can be long but they try and keep them moving. The breakfast isn’t bad and the oatmeal is decent and fresh for fast food. Get it to go and walk to the Navy memorial to eat since the tables are dirty and typically filled with some rather eccentric customers.

Lobby: The lobby was mostly clean; the trash wasn’t overflowing and no trash on the floor. The tables however were dirty with ketchup and salt left behind from previous customers. Service: The employee who took my order was in an extreme hurry and didn’t fully listen to what I wanted. I asked for a large size meal and he hurriedly wrung up a medium. My order was filled quickly, however, the quality of the food was poor. The fry box was not fully filled up and the meat appeared like it had been cooked a while ago and left to sit out until a customer like me ordered it. I wanted a cheap meal, and I got that, but next time I think I’ll just spend an extra few dollars and eat something of value.

This location is clean and the employee at the register was friendly but the food quality is seriously terrible. If you’re in the area, I’d urge you to go to the busier location in Chinatown on 7th at the Verizon Center(24 hours.) I ordered an angus deluxe, they skipped the onion and fresh pickle and opted for dark wilted lettuce and a nasty tomato. They also added a dry bun and a medium rare patty(grosssssssssssssss!!!) This was the nastiest angus I have ever tasted in my life. After one bite, it landed itself back in its box and into the trash. Fries were just cooked but tasted re-fried and were soggy. Oh, and they added a complimentary apple pie that was dry and hard.

This is my first of what will probably be multiple McDonald’s reviews around DC. This is one of the two closest McDonalds to my office so I come here quite often. I’m reviewing it as compared to other McDonalds(because everyone already knows how McDonalds food shood taste). I have a few issues with this particular location: 1) They skimp on the fries. Multiple times I’ve had to go up and ask them to actually fill the fries up. If I can barely see them over the front edge, and they come no where near making it to the higher back edge, that’s just not sufficient. 2) No free water. Even if you order a full meal(including a drink). Even it’s because you’d like to dissolve medicine in your water. 3) This one relates to #2. The manager can be a bit of a. well you can guess how I feel. 4) During the summer, every time the door opens, the A/C unit above the door roars like a jet engine. On a good note, lines usually are not bad.

Went here to get a salad and some fries. Good customer service and area is still nice and clean.
