I spent $ 11.50 on the juke box and the bar turned it off because it did not meet their vibe :/

I came here while bar hopping for a friend’s birthday and this was our first stop! It was so much fun! It’s super casual, very friendly, and very comfortable. The bartenders/staff are really nice too. We were hesitant to leave but we had other stops on our list, so we did. But I would definitely come back! If you’re looking for a nice, chill bar with good pub food — this is the place to go! I heard their burgers are great.

This is my go to bar in Dupont. We usually come here because we can almost always find a table, they have your basic beers, and it’s usually a good place to talk. It’s not always clean, they struggle to pick a volume for the music, and your servers don’t typically check up on you(except this guy last night. Ethan was pretty good.) However, you can avoid the partying college kids at Madhatter and the crowded, awkward, sweaty dance floors pretty much everywhere. Really, I’m not a fan of places in Dupont in general but this is a solid if you’re in the area.

I was in DC about the time of the RWC and went here to watch an Ireland v Poland soccer game. Oddly, it was mostly a Polish group up the back. Beer was good, service was good, big screen. I’ve also been here at the main bar up the front on several occasions and again, good beer, good service, TVs. Maybe it tops out on the price end but that’s a small complaint. They have redeemed themselves from their previous failing. This would be my preferred pub in Du Pont for watching soccer.

I really like this place as far as sports bars. The pricing is pretty reasonable. The place has a cozy feel to it. I have been here twice now for football Sunday, and I had a great time with the regulars. The bartender, Michelle, is pretty cool. I will be back for sure!

Only place in DC that is worth watching the Barclays Premier League on a weekend. Opens early on a weekend for all the matches. Also open in the afternoon during the week for Champions League and cup games. Home of three supporters groups: Manchester United — Red Devils DC Manchester City — Cap City Blues Arsenal — DC Armoury Decent beer selection and well priced for DC. Worth checking out.

If you are looking for a bar in DC to watch a soccer game, The Lucky Bar is the place for you! Unbelievable environment, especially during Champions League games. The place gets packed, so you need to get there 30 – 45 minutes early on game days. They have booths plus large tables on the back where you get to sit next to strangers that share your passion for the sport. Food wise, relatively cheap finger foods with $ 14-$ 16 pitchers. It can take some time for you to get your food because of the amount of people but the waiters are so nice we did not mind.

Stumbled across this bar a few months back on my first visit to DC. Needed a few beers after walking around the city for hours on end playing tourist. Needed something casual enough as I was wearing gym shoes and a sweatshirt. It was pretty empty when I first got there but the bartender Michelle and waitress Danyelle made a point to make me feel right at home when they found out it was my first visit to the area. Ended up staying for food they had a happy hour burger special that day. I will make a point of visiting this bar again next time I make it to the city. The staff is great, the burger was awesome I think it was $ 5-$ 10 for a burger with fries and can’t go wrong with a few beers!

Wound up here on a Saturday evening because we couldn’t find a bar showing the Caps game. Every place was only showing college football. This place had a ton of TVs so they had no issue putting the game on for us in a very prominent location. There were not very many people here for it being a saturday night. The food was good, but nothing special. Typical pub faire. I got the fish and chips which were good. Not the best i’ve had but not the worst either. The beer selection was adequate, and the server was very friendly and attentive. What I did like about the place is it did have the feel of an Irish bar and seemed perfect for watching Futbol. I’d have loved to check this place out on a weekend morning with an English Breakfast, a beer and watching the Première League. Maybe next time.

I really don’t like this place. It’s a typical sports bar but there’s something off putting that I can’t exactly place my finger on. It could be the weird lighting, the inattentive waitstaff, or the horrible drinks and/or a combination of it all. I’ve tried to give this place a chance of redemption last night but no avail. We walked in and sat ourself and it took our server a while to come to our table. He asked for our order, never introduced himself and took about 15 minutes to bring back fries, beer and a cocktail. I actually ordered the fish and chips because it was apart of their daily specials but only ate the fries. I had the fireball? or was it firefly? Either way it was disgusting and I sent it back. I settled for a foundation drink which really sucks because I don’t drink soda but i didn’t want to ask for water because I didn’t want to come across cheap. The music was just okay but it was hard to hear with drunk table of college? girls behind us acting as if they just had the best night of their lives and their first legal drink. The good thing is, if you’re a sports fan this seems to be the go to place. They have big screen TVs and no cover charge. Our waiter was nice enough to remove my drink from our bill even though he ignore us most of the night.

Sports bar in DuPont circle this place is extremely typical. Plus is there longer happy hour, but the drink specials are not all too great. Happy hour food wasn’t terribly priced, but it’s bar food. Decent sized patio. Inside is kinda grungy, always dark. Not a bad spot for late night or a futbol game. Very typical bar — can’t say I love or hate this place, but it is convenient!

Menu looked great online, walked down there and they said children were not allowed — we were happy to sit outside, but no! So we kept walking and found a much better place, thanks

As far as Dupont goes, I feel like this bar would be more suited for Adams Morgan but I’ll take it. Friday night happy hour runs late from my memory, with the deal being $ 4 – 5. It’s buzzing on the inside and extremely chill on the outside. The food is okay as well with most options being ~$ 11, but next time I’d go to Shake Shack across the street first then skip on over for some dranks.

Lucky Bar has been around for years and I went there because I love English soccer. Its a fun bar, great atmosphere and good beers. The owners are terrific and they go out of their way to engage with the customers during matches. During the World Cup this place is a zoo which is a testament to how well known this bar is. Also, they’ve become very much a goto place for Arsenal fans over the years. Outside of the football its still an awesome bar just South of Dupont. I met my wife here and we had out post wedding drinks here with friends. A real go to place for us and a lot of fun. They have 2 bars and plenty of booths and tables. It can get busy. The bathrooms are up some steep narrow stairs which will challenge those with no balance! A great bar that I love popping into.

If you’re in Dupont Circle and need a spot to watch your hometown(or favorite) sports team compete, Lucky’s is for you. Characteristically Irish, they’re open early for soccer they feature a basic but tasty breakfast menu(with a traditional English breakfast to go with your Guinness). There are plenty of tvs and the cavernous rear of the bar has plenty of room to spread out. The locals were friendly(even the Chelsea supporters) and I had a great morning watching matches and chatting up the bar. This is a must for those tourists and business travelers who need to catch a match — it’s a quick walk from several big hotels.

Picture it. New Years Day. 2015. A group of friends and I leave our hotel in Dupont Circle tired and hungry. We literally called and or walked to five different restaurants in search of brunch/lunch/ANYTHING! An hour later, as luck would have it, one of my friends who had suggested Lucky Bar earlier on in the day, reminded us that we should try it. So… we did. And it was GREAT! The manager found an area of couches and tables that would seat all 9 of us comfortably and we were immediatedly given menus and asked our drink orders. Although it was New Years Day, there were soccer fans at the bar watching the match, which was fun to see how animated they were. It added to the«personality» of the place. I ordered a po boy sandwich and fries, which were both really good. It was spicy, but not too spicy. For some reason the ginger ale I ordered though tasted watered down. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised. I’d come back here again.

Caught a ravens steelers game here yesterday– there was a good mix of both ravens and steelers fans and everyone seemed friendly enough. We had a table of five and had drinks and some food. The BLT was pretty good nothing super special but lots of bacon. We had nachos with chicken and guac and they were layered really well so that toppings were on every chip all the way until the end– deff enjoyed them. A friend had the turkey burger and it wasn’t good, not sure if they’re always bad or it was a one off occurrence. I’d have no issue going back again for another game. It looked as though they take reservations for tables and there are a few spots that could fit about 10 at a table. Give a ring ahead if you’re planning on going and want to try to get a rez

Oh, Lucky Bar. At least it’s reliably mediocre. Look, I love this place because they open early for my boyfriend and his crazy Premier League-watching friends, and the staff are like friends at this point. But my God. The food is consistently mediocre, especially breakfast, which is unfortunate because that’s usually when I’m there. Ah, my guilt just bumped me up to four stars on this. Lucky Bar is where you should go to watch soccer. Period. Just don’t have super high expectations on the breakfast food. Otherwise, if you are looking for a dive bar with good happy hour specials, Lucky’s there for you, too. Especially since so many of the other Dupont bars are all fancy and stuff.
