Lotus Blooms

I have been a fan of Lotus Blooms since the first store opened in Old Town Alexandria. I thought that little shop was the best thing ever in sex related retail. The new shop in Adams Morgan is just as awesome as the Old Town shop and it’s bigger!
The shop is beautiful, you won’t want to leave. It’s on three levels, with the restroom and fitting rooms downstairs, so if you are a little bashful your corset fitting can happen privately downstairs. Lotus Blooms has corsets and plus size lingerie up to a 4X!
I’m not super kinky, but I know they have some impressive bondage and flogging equipment as well as your basic vibrators etc.
Lotus Blooms has a huge emphasis on education everyone who works there is a sex educator and they host an assortment of fun workshops and events. It is a welcoming and safe space for persons of all gender identities and sexual orientations.
Lotus Blooms also partners with other local businesses including many local burlesque troupes and producers, including mine, Chocolate City Burlesque and Cabaret.

I was lucky enough to visit this shop during its grand opening. Now most people hear «sex shop» and have some expectations of a sketchy place where you run in, go through a black curtain, be nervous of judgement, and rush out hiding your face with a black plastic bag in hand. Lotus Blooms is the complete opposite of the stereotype. The store is bright, clean, and full of anything your heart (or other parts) desire! The staff is there to help you and answer any and all questions. From apparel, to books, to toys and accessories, there’s a whole lot to choose from and something for everyone.
There’s a wall full of beautiful corsets on the ground floor, a whole upstairs dedicated to kink items with a rack of latex wear, and dressing rooms downstairs. The sex toys all have demos available to hold and play with, and although some items are pricey, they are quality.
