Got a few drinks with my sister for a fun happy hour and to catch up. The bartender was cool, she helped me decide on my drink choice, and I loved the décor! Overall the place is chill and low key. Would definitely recommend for a quick drink and a free your mind environment.

I was invited to this place for RuPauls Drag Race watch party and had amazing time! The drinks were good, the music was good and the outdoor space in the back is a gem! Cash only but there’s an ATM with minimal fees. I am going back and taking a friend :)

Definitely fantastic location, wonderful folks, as well as the kind of place I missed in DC for a long time. It feels like nostalgia in a building to me. Quite laid back, superbly executed, and with a truly great veranda space. Nearly so amazing I want it wasn’t on Unilocal, and we could keep all of it to our selves. But as it’s, I believed I might as well increase the compliments.

This place is a great find. A good selection of whiskeys in a neat dive bar vibe. The bartender went of his way to make me feel at home; he was engaging and knowledgeable about my drink-of-choice. In a world of gentrification, this place will definitely be on my list of places to return to.

My fav place on H. Shitty music upstairs but Zeppelin on main level. Good beer and good crowd. They removed the barber shop chairs so I had to take away one star.

Went here with some good friends after dinner and it was a great experience. The music was simultaneously entertaining and not intrusive. The slushy awesomeness was delicious, but a little sweet for my taste. I had a glass of whiskey(Buffalo something?) That was very generous. Love that. And my table mate had a Manhattan that made him smile for the rest of the night.

I’ve been once to Little Miss Whiskey with a few friends who love a good, non-pretentious bar. Little Miss Whiskey is a bar in between a dive bar and a very eclectic bar. It’s very dark inside, but they have a back room that seems a little mystical. On top of that, they have a no-frills beer list that includes hard cider. If you want to escape the DC suit scene, go here for a non-threatening environment where you can just be yourself. If you’re looking for a date spot, I wouldn’t lead with this place. :)

Really neat, dark atmosphere. Fun music, great people, and an overall awesome ambiance. «The Awesomeness» is a DELICIOUS drink, well worth the $ 8. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for an interesting cultural experience in DC.

this place has a check in offer, and i thought i was being savvy and saving money with checking in… NOPE. lol the check in offer is for 8 dollar awesomeness… which is the normal price. man… after finding out it was the same price i didn’t feel special anymore. :( we got 1 awesomeness and 1 whiskey sour for about 14 bucks? very cheap for bar drinks. the awesomeness is some sort of alcoholic slushy that is yellow in color. remember when your mom told you not to eat or touch yellow snow, well, this is the only exception… so drink up buddy. the alcohol content was kinda weak, so its supposed to be more of a drink to chill over and chat with friends with. not something you want to drink to turn up /get drunk. be careful though… it’ll cause a nasty brain freeze when drunk too fast. i felt paralyzed for a few seconds after it hit my head. very painful. there is a dance floor upstairs and another bar. they were mainly playing hip-hop. i smelled rotten fish in the middle of the dance floor, weird i know… so i don’t know if someone needed to take a shower or if they used this place for a sushi dinner the night prior.

After dinner at a nearby restaurant we felt like getting a drink and this place popped up on Unilocal. The décor has a funky NOLA vibe that I loved. Try the«awesomeness» drink lives up to its name. The DJ was good, too. He played some type of groovy, funky music that made you want to dance. The crowd was super chill and there to dance and have a good time.

Great place to have a low key night. Sort of a dive, but with a neat ambiance. Costume karaōke upstairs on Wednesday night is a BLAST! I have yet to have a bad time at LMW’s. The pours are pretty strong, so keep that in mind.

As an out of towner, my friend who lives in the neighborhood recommended this place. It was so fun!!! It was a great way to see another side of DC. The venue reminded us of SF, and the drink menu was extensive and interesting. You have to get The Awesomeness! I also tried the mighty mint julep and it is strong! The dj there was awesome and we really enjoyed the electro ambient music he played. The tacos by Joe Garlic was so bomb as well!!! Who knew roasted garlic and tacos go together? We had so much fun at Kitty Saloon and everyone was super nice to us. Thanks for the good time! Pro tip: cash only. They have an ATM inside.

CASHONLY Really swank place on H St. Bottom floor is sort of Haunted House meets New Orleans theme. Cool décor. Small number of taps but mostly craft stuff and decent amount of bottles. Full list is on their website. I found things here like Stiegl, Founders Breakfast Stout, Stone, Bells, BORIS the Crusher. Pretty good list I’d say especially for H St. Upstairs is a full on rave scene so get your $ 5 Colt 45 or PBR tall boys and go crazy. Craziest thing about this place is the sound deadening. In the bottom haunted house bar, you would have no idea that there was a rave going on upstairs.

I usually complain that H street is too far. It is, but grab an über with a group of friends and come to Little Miss Whiskey’s. The music’s good, the crowd’s excited, and there are slushies. Notes — The first floor is the main lounge and bar area, and the top floor is the dancing area. — Dark and cool ambiance with heavily decorated walls — Ca$h only — Alcoholic slushies were super sweet and super delicious — It gets rowdy after midnight. Beware of grinding and make-out sessions on the dance floor.

Little Miss Whiskey’s is one of my favorite bars on H Street. Quite unassuming on the outside, the rich, eclectic décor on the inside gives less the impression of a dive bar and more a charming collection of Southern kitsch. The owner has an affinity for all things New Orleans(or so I was told), which speaks to my heart since I’m originally from the Gulf Coast, and NOLA is an old stomping ground. The downstairs bar is small and narrow and can get crowded. But I’ve always found the bartenders and patrons friendly and accommodating. They have a huge drink menu with a large collection of craft beers. Being given the menu for the first time can be a bit overwhelming but it’s nice to have options and know I can try lots of different things. The upstairs is a larger space where they hold dance parties. I’ve only been to a couple of those and, eh, not my scene anymore. I prefer to stay downstairs, enjoying a cold one and all the people watching. Also, I have yet(much to my lament) to attend their popular crawfish boils! I can’t tell you how happy that makes me to know they host such things. And that they are supposedly pretty legit, considering most of this city’s Cajun/Creole restaurant offerings are disappointing. Little Miss Whiskey’s really is a lot of fun and worth a visit if you’re in the neighborhood.

Yes, it is a dive bar, even kitsch, but in the context of dive bars this gets 5 stars. BRINGCASH. They don’t take credit cards. The bartenders are super friendly, and both of them are hot(yes, the guy and the girl). Generous pour for the price. You have to try their own drink concoction called«The Awesomeness», you’ll be feeling awesome, alright, after two of those, if you can still walk go to the upstairs where the dj plays awesome music… I think I danced… but, beware if you have more than two Awesomeness, negotiating the stairs on the way down, might prove to be one of the most challenging things you’ve ever done, since you were potty trained and learned how to walk, but it doesn’t really matter because you will feel like a supermodel killing the runway — AWESOMENESS. This place is tons of fun. Good drinks, good music, and great people watching.

This place and the owner’s other bar(Jimmy Valentine’s in Trinidad) are pretty much ground zero for D.C. hipsterdom. Jimmy V’s is the type of hipster bar I like a lot but, for whatever reason, I’m not a huge fan of Whiskey’s. By no means is it a bad bar that you should avoid, though. Both bars have a similar divey vibe but this place, located on one of the busiest stretches of H Street, is always much more crowded. Whiskey’s is always crawling with hipsters but being in the middle of H brings in a slightly more diverse crowd. I guess that’s one positive in its favor over its hipster cousin in Trinidad. On the weekends, though, the amount of people in here can get a little suffocating, especially on the dance floor upstairs. With that said, I’ve never had to wait all that long for drinks, even on the busiest of nights. As a lot of the reviews indicate, the bartenders here are top notch(and very friendly, to boot). They also have an interesting selection of beer(all bottles and cans) and I love that they carry White Rascal, which is hard to find in D.C. bars. The music that the play just isn’t up my alley. I don’t think i’ve heard anything other than hard rock downstairs, which is where I usually end up because of how crowded the upstairs dance floor gets. It’s not death metal that makes you want to violently bang your head but it’s definitely«harder» than most rock you’d hear on the radio. This is just a matter of personal preference — if you like this type of music, you’ll like the downstairs more than I do. The few times I’ve been upstairs have been ok. People definitely come up here to dance, which can be a challenge depending on how packed the floor is. The DJ’s music selection is kind of all over the place. Last time I was here was for the guerrilla queer bar that they hosted last month and the music seemed a little slow(the one common characteristic between his eclectic mix of song selections). One specific complaint: I was hoping to hear more hip hop. Yes, it’s cash only but there’s a Bank of America ATM literally right next door. Lots of major banks have branches or ATMs somewhere along H so don’t feel like you have to pay an ATM fee if you forget your cash.
