Soooo… They have this pretty small(used to be) side dish which is Spaghetti w Tomato Sauce. No veggies whatsoever. First of all there’s nothing special about it, I’m not even sure if they season it. BUT for $ 4 you really can’t complain. It’s a small plate. HOWEVER, apparently they have a new«chef» and now this tiny, unseasoned plate of basic spaghetti w tomato sauce cost $ 9. If they’d at least have a bigger serving of it or would throw some veggies or so in there ok but I’m telling you a five year old could make better pasta. Thumbs down

Had a great brunch here once. But about 3 weeks ago I met friends here for breakfast/brunch and sat for 2 hours before getting a glass of water. How did I make it to the 2 hours — great live music playing and awesome singing. My mates were about an hour late but it was at that 2 hour mark I realized most of the people that were sat at or around the same time were no longer around. There was 1 waitress and 1 manager/bartender in the whole place. Instead of them explaining this to us they stressed and gave horrible service to an otherwise understanding patron — ME. I asked for one thing specific — egg whites… I received the wrong order all together and ended up walking out on the bill and around the corner to Horace and Dickies for a fish dinner.

The beau and I went back here on a cold and rainy Monday night and had a completely different experience from the one we had a year ago. Service was great, especially considering we were two of probably 10 people in the whole place, but the biggest thing is that they have obviously addressed the issue of their food being terrible. We gave the pimento mac n cheese balls another try, and this time they were on-point! Admittedly, it’s difficult NOT to enjoy fried macaroni and cheese smothered in pimento cheese sauce, but these were really good and markedly different from last time. For our entrees, I had the steak & cheese sandwich, and the beau had the chicken parm over pasta. Both were delectable. The chicken was cooked perfectly, and my sandwich was exactly the right balance of contents to moisture to bread. I mentioned to the bartender that I had been in a year ago and had a terrible experience with the food and he told me that they had realized that was a pain point and had made some adjustments. Whatever they did seemed to work, and Matt and I will absolutely be back!

Ah, the H Street bocce bar. Let me start by saying that I am a fan of their bouncer/ID checker. He is a nice guy who makes you feel welcomed to be there. How often can you say that? Vendetta is two floors with a bar and bocce court on each. As others have noted, there is prosecco on tap. They also have some decently priced specials that include Blue Moon and Perogi. They serve food — traditional bar food with some flair for the most part. I would not recommend the brussel sprouts though. Everything else I have tried is good. The bartenders are nice. On weeknights, there is table service. If you are looking to play bocce, I would make sure to check their website/DC bocce league schedule so that you go on a night that the league is not playing.

Plenty of more interesting bars on H Street. Pinstripes is a better alternative for bocce. I have a vendetta against this sticky, rude place. I fully appreciate that the staff needs to carry out various logistic functions, but they went out of their way to be bossy and rude at times when there was no excuse.

Great place. Lots of fun. Played bocce for first time, it was fun. The employees were friendly and helpful.

For a small H St. restaurant and bar, this place is awesome. The food is decent, and some of the staples(i.e. the fries) are way better than expected and the tap bubbly is a great touch. The beer selection could be better, and the food menu isn’t as diverse as you might expect. The ambiance is great, when the weather is nice they open the place up for an outdoor feel, and who doesn’t love a good game of bocce ball?

Whitney the Bartender is SOMUCHFUN. First time here and the food was delicious. Tried the Cheasaeak sandwich which is crab cake with poached egg and bacon. Absolutely delicious. Added bacon(of course) to their grilled cheese and it was perfect.

My friends recently took me out to Vendetta for a celebratory dinner. It was the perfect location. The hostess avoided sending other parties upstairs, which meant that we had the whole second floor to ourselves, including the bocce court and the giant Connect4. We ordered several orders of the pimento mac n cheese balls and basket of fries with the chipotle mayo, peppered parmesan, sweet sriracha, and lemon garlic aioli sauces. For my meal, I requested the grilled cheese with the portabella mushroom, sweet peppers and onions, and jalapeño cheddar roll. The mac n cheese balls were perfect, filled as they were with an abundance of cheese. I was delighted when upon biting into the fried goodness it oozed creamy cheese. The Cajun spiced fries were zesty even without the addition of the sauces, although I thoroughly enjoyed the sweet sriracha and chipotle mayo sauces. The grilled cheese by itself did not pack much flavor, but it was great with the addition of the sauces left over from the fries. I especially loved the delicious(and delicious looking) mocktail the bartender for me with cherry juice, lemon, and soda water. I would recommend Vendetta if you are in the mood for fried food, want to place bocce, or are need a good place for a group. I would give Vendetta four stars for the great food, games, and service.

Great place to hang out at the end of the week and play bocce. The staff is great and there isn’t much of a wait to get a drink upstairs.

The food here is amazing. The zucchini fries are to die for and they have the best sauces to go with them and their basket of fries are just as yummy. And the have prosecco on tap!!! They have awesome happy hour with $ 4 prosecco and 25 cent wings! Not to mention this place has a great atmosphere. Can’t say enough great things about this place!

If it weren’t for the bocce court, I might have had to drop this to a two star rating. The game-loving kid/elderly Italian man inside me loves this feature of the restaurant, but sadly the food quality doesn’t back it up. The menu seemed to have a lot less Italian food on it than I expected, and none of what we ordered really wowed me. The mac and cheese balls were drowning in what looked like that yellow cheese from movie theater nachos, and my burger which was advertised on the menu as having veal mixed in with the beef and chianti marmalade as a topping seemed to have neither. On the drinks side, the beer selection isn’t too bad for those of us who aren’t big prosecco drinkers but nothing that would woo me down the block from Granville Moore’s. As it got a little later on a Saturday night, the music got really loud and went down a rabbit-hole of dance club techno, which pretty much wrecked the ambiance. All in all, I could see stopping in for a drink or two and a game of bocce before moving on to eat somewhere else, but for dinner this place fails badly in the face of so many good food options elsewhere on H Street.

Enjoyed a weekend brunch here with friends. The Chesapeake was delicious. Others had the veal burger, pancakes, etc. All enjoyed their meals. Drinks were reasonable, too. Will definitely return.

My friend and I came here one night for drinks. I had the crab cake sliders, zucchini fries & a couple of drinks. It was a good night! The hostess and bartenders were super friendly. My favorite dish here was the zucchini fries; simply amazing! Definitely check out this place for a drink and some food; cool vibe.

Stopped by here for happy hour/dinner at the bar early on a Friday night. They have prosecco on tap!!? — and on happy hour — otherwise a decent beer/wine selection. We ordered 2 entrees and 2 appetizers and 4 – 5 drinks(HH prices) and the bill was $ 69 — so not too shabby for everything! The portions were decent — the waitstaff was ok. not the best, not the worst… I would return for drinks only, probably — and an appetizer or 2 –

Pleasantly surprised by Vendetta! Had a great Sunday funday here and would recommend it for several reasons and I think the previous Unilocal reviews have been overly critical, like the 1 star for no parsley? Anywho, the service was great… and who doesn’t love an unlimited mimosas option?! In addition to drinks, I was very pleased with our food. We had red beans and rice(great!) and braised kale(not overcook!) and the crab cake and frittata. The crab cake sandwich was ok and the frittata was very tasty. I came on a Sunday that was rather quiet, but really enjoyed the food, drinks, and games. The bocce ball game was a new one for me, but I enjoyed it immensely. We will definitely be back. It will be a best kept secret for now…

Far more bar than restaurant, yet only 4 taps and one of those is prosecco! Vendetta offers a mix of bar food(wings, burgers, sliders, fries) and a few Italian favorites like bucatini and meatballs. Bocce? I can hardly spell it :) Those three beers were Peroni($ 4 during happy hour), New Belgium ranger IPA and Boulevard 7 farmhouse ale from Kansas City. Liked the Boulevard, notably hoppy but not cheap at $ 8. Unfortunately the bar is built wrong and uniquely uncomfortable, your knees just don’t fit underneath so you sit really far away. Whadafuq’s up with that? I’m not a bocce player so I didn’t even try, and comic night took up that space anyhow lol. So just stayed at that killer(not in a good way) bar. I tried the portabello ‘shroom entrée for $ 14, stuffed with lotsa tomato and mozzarella and came with a great arugula & bean salad, way(way!) healthier food than any bar should serve, right?! Vegetarian rating: 3 stars for the solid options, far more than you’d expect from a bar: croquettes app, beet salad, kale salad, grilled Caesar salad, veggie flatbread pizza, a veggie burger(promised as «best of your life»), even a stuffed portabella entrée and not stuffed with sausage either lol. Happy with the food, good service too but not so much a fan of the rest.

THEMENUHASCHANGED. Ignore all the 1 – 2 star reviews I just read, because none of those dishes exist anymore. BTW, did someone really rate them one star for not having parsley for garnish? Vendetta is NOT trying to be a traditional Italian restaurant, it is a sports bar with fun bocce(indoors) and a more thoughtful, Italian-inspired bar food menu. For example, they have(for vegetarians) stuffed mushrooms, an amazing grilled cheese on jalapeño cheddar bread, humungous kale and arugula salad, and zucchini fries with garlic aoli. The food was EXCELLENT; even the house salad was tasty. They have prosecco on tap(yes on tap). And happy hour Saturday night 5−8PM. Service was great. They play music, but it’s not that loud.

Brunch = OMG. yes, yes, yes. We decided to brunch here after visiting several other times and enjoying ourselves. They decided to open for brunch on Easter, and welp, that sounded like a good enough time for us to go, so we walked from our place to H Street and sat near the bar at one of the high top tables. There were not many people in there at all, just four people playing bocce and another couple that walked in grabbed a drink at the bar. We ordered our drinks, prosseco on tap, yes. and I eventually ordered a Bloody Mary(which was super yummy, thick, but I sipped on it throughout the meal). We ended up having the whole place to ourselves for a long time, so we chatted with our waitress and the bartenders(Erinn, Dan and Chris), who are all wonderfully lovely people and fun to chat with. They kept giving us booze and we kept talking their ears off. The food was actually fan-freaking-tastic. I ordered the Chesapeake benedict(crab cake on ciabatta with a side salad, and the hubby ordered a burger(mmm…burger). We also started off with a side of deviled eggs that were topped with relish(not my favorite of toppings, but very good), we also ordered the cheese and bacon fries and they were the hit of our table. My poached eggs atop my crab cake were perfectly cooked and the crab cake was moist and flavorful, which can be hard to find. The food was spot on for our brunch. Our drinks were the best. I mean, you can’t mess up prosseco. I ended up ordering mimosas after my first secco glass, and Dan made them perfectly, just enough orange juice to cloud the drink. We got pretty, pretty buzzed at this brunch, actually the best brunch we have been to in a while. We loved having the front window/door open and the atmosphere is so quirky and inviting. The staff is so great and we will recommend Vendetta for brunch to EVERYONE!!! We will be back.
