One star is being nice. I went for a night outing and they checking wrist bands to get to the second floor.

Never Again!!! Terrible place let me start by saying if you are thinking about coming here don’t run run run. They are liars period my friend was supposed to enjoy his birthday event here at Layla lounge but it turned into a tragic piece of shit we were supposed to be in vip didn’t happen the drinks were nasty the people were rude that ran the place you had to pay to get in even being on a guests list if you wanted to go upstairs and enjoy the second floor you had to pay again. The place was just a mess I will never go here again. Mickey Mouse OPERATION

First of all false advertisement. Unless you like heading to the club early. The everyone free only applies before 12am and the line doesn’t start moving until 11:30. The cut line is a disgrace. I went last Saturday and attempted to go through the cut line. One security charged me 20 $ and then once through the next security guard tried to charge me 20 $. I would rather attend bliss or the Park then pay 40 $ for this small club. Security guards are rude. Once inside, to even get upstairs a security guard tried to charge money. How unprofessional. There is no real V.I.P, anyone can sit in the section. I will not pay for any of their tables, they have no sparklers. DJ plays the same song over and over. Worst club in DC

This was the worse experience ever! Me and my girls decided to check this spot out for Howard’s homecoming. After learning that they would have open bar and free food we were excited to go. We were so disappointed. When I say this place was a hot ghetto and ratchet mess I am not lying. We waited in line for an hour and 30 minute. During that time we watched the bouncer be rude to people and making up random prices like 30 and 50 dollars to get in even though they advertised that ladies free all night and men free until midnight. He also cursed out and was about to fight some guys in the line, granted these guys were looking for a fight but he was not able to address it a professional manner. The crowd looked really young and some looked liked they just rolled out of bed. If you are looking for a mature crowd, not the crowd. So we finally get to the front of the line almost 2 hours later, they held the line so long and for no reason that we missed the open bar. Then the bouncer tells my friend that she already used her ticket when clearly we had been in line the whole time. He told me that he could not scan my ticket because my screen was too dark, never had this issue before. Once we entered there was no food and the first floor was packed and they would not open the second floor to allow for more room. Please do yourself a favor and stay far away or come at your own risk. This was on a Friday night, so I am not sure how it is on other nights.

I was lured to Layla by the promises of no cover, open bar, and free drinks. The website looked nice and they had pictures of various celebrities. You fooled me once, shame on you. However I was very disappointed and will not be fooled into visiting this place again. ATMOSPHERE: Place was overcrowded, I’m pretty sure it was above capacity. Parking was around the closed business and I felt uneasy about leaving the car in a sketchy looking neighborhood. Several people were smoking, but the place was so packed, I’m pretty sure the bouncers had a hard time figuring out who. Also a fight broke out and there was one person creating waves in the crowd by people getting pushed cause the place was so packed. Bouncer had a hard time trying to get them out. NOCOVER: There was no cover before 12am, but their ended up being a long line. They came around saying if you pay $ 10 you can jump the line. One of the door men also lied and said that there was plenty of seats inside. The only seats they have are for bottle service and they will make you move if you sit down without getting bottle service. OPENBAR: Open bar until 12 am, but the line was wide & long. This place was already packed like sardines and people are supposed try to stand in a line. I didn’t even bother. People kept saying the drinks were watered down severely. FREEFOOD: They also said they had free food for the first hour. A hostess walked around with a tray of wings, which probably rubbed on several people’s arm as the place was so packed. If you were lucky you got 1 small drumette wing. Most people did not get any wings at all. Most people started to leave after the free drinks ended. Pros: It looks really nice and well-designed inside. That’s all I can say. Cons: *False promotional enticements to get you to come out. *If you don’t pay the $ 10 to jump the line you will be standing outside a long time. I didn’t see that line moving at all. *Shady looking around the building and limited parking. *The bus stop is not close for women who like to wear heels, also don’t expect to have anywhere to sit to rest your tired feet either. *ALLTHEONESLISTEDABOVE.

Did not care for this place at all. They seriously need to find better ways to implement promotions and advertisment. Sorely disappointed!

As a host to different events in the DMV I love to go check out different venues & atmospheres that may have the potential to serve as a performance spot. I received information via text about Layla lounge promoted by @JetSetDC.the text read open bar from 10 – 11& free all night for ladies. My ladies & I decided to check it out for a long over due girls night out. When I pulled up the line was extremely long & the parking lot was extremely empty but with the free parking no complaints. While walking up I was handed a free vip card from a performer who was set to perform that night. I found my girls in the middle of the line & then was offered to pay $ 10 to cut the line. I asked the people closer to the front how long they had been in line & one lady stated longer than 30 min. I started to assume that it must be packed from Happy Hour. I waited 10 min. in the cut line when I was then informed that they had a policy about what you can not bring in which included: GUM, LIGHTERS, EXTRASHOES, PERFUME, ANYTHINGYOUCANSMOKE, ECT. My issue was not that these things were not allowed but that there was no sign to inform people who are entering, I noticed security taking people’s things & throwing them in a bucket well I made the decision to go back to my car to put my things away. In returning my friends had been now standing in the line for 20 min. but because I had to use the facilities I went back through the cut line to be checked by security. The silk romper I had one was as thin as a shit it didn’t leave any room to hide anything but security grabbed my breast and ass checked me deeper than TSA it was very offensive which should’ve been my first sign this place had no class. When I walked in it was EMPTYYYYYYYYYWTF so they were holding up the line to encourage people to pay or guys having to wait to 12 o’clock to pay. or so that it would look like it was poppin from outside ITWASN’T!.. it was still another 10 min. before my friends came in. They gave us wrist bands but did not state that this was a 19&up venue in the lovely text from @JetSetDC. My lady friend stood at the bar for almost 5 mins trying to get a drink in an unpacked club smh. As we drank our alcohol clear the upset of entry & looked at the ghetto mess around us we noticed there was an upstairs we asked the bartender & he stated it opened at 12. When they started to let people up it seemed that they were only selecting out of category of hot mess dtf women which none of us were. I then went and asked security about why only certain people were being allowed up & he stated it was for vip.(Oh & when I showed security my vip pass that was given to me he took it and said it was for entry) the vip security guy informed me that we could now pay another $ 10 for vip(yesss because a grown women like me just carries around loose tens to hand at random security guys &ANYVIPFOR $ 10ISNOTWORTHIT) but because us 5 ladies never get together I then tried to go to my car to grab more cash for me and my ladies and was informed there were no in’s & outs by security I was yelled at while trying to talk to security i even felt one of them touch me unnecessarily. There is NOSIGN stating that I could not leave the establishment if once entered… they decided to charge what they want & made rules on their terms plus acted out of complete disrespect to a Paying customers of a free event .my girls finished their drinks and we left the hood where it stood. We had more fun in the car with No Music lol I would never recommend my dog to have a party there let alone another human being. It was a nice venue but the atmosphere of ghetto unorganized individuals brought down the quality of the establishment. I’ve never waited or received that kind of customer service at elite night clubs like The Park, Josephines, even Stadium has better security and service. Which I can guarantee pull 10x more capital on a bad night than that meat packing district called Layla Lounge(& its not Angus beef it’s Pork Butt) don’t even waste your time or money here & they will be hearing from my lawyer on sexual harassment by security! I was sent an invite via email for open bar and free food before 12… Me and my girl arrived at 10pm since the open bar ended at 11 and the food was free from 11 to 12… We were first in line but had to stand outside and wait 30 extra minutes for the staff to arrive… The woman who frisked me made me feel violated so needless to say THAT will never happen again because I will not patronize this business…

I was truly disappointed. Let me first start by saying that the only reason my boyfriend and I decided to give this lounge a try is because we were given V.I.P. passes. The passes were supposed to allow us entrance to the club, free of charge, before 12am. We arrived at the location at 11pm and approached the entrance to what appeared to be utter chaos. At first glance, there were multiple lines being formed. The first thing I noticed was that there was a line wrapped around the building. The second thing that I noticed was a secondary line, which moved at a rapid pace — I thought to myself, surely, this must be the V.I.P. line — so, we waited for about 5 minutes. We gave our passes to the bouncer, who then refused them, and points out that the line we belonged in was the one that wrapped around the building, and that if we wanted to «cut» we would have to pay $ 10 for me and $ 20 for my boyfriend. The most disappointing part of this experience is how Layla Lounge does business. Do not false advertise and promote your business if you aren’t going to uphold your promotions. It’s almost as if they handed their club promoters passes to distribute just to get people to come out and wait in line all night, knowing very well that by the time they do actually start honoring the promotion would be well after it expired. What type of bad business is that? Needless to say, I’m sure the inside of this establishment is nice, once you get inside. We opted not to waste our money, and went to U Street instead. I recommend anyone else to do the same. By the time we left it was 12am and the«V.I.P.» line didn’t move an inch. Bottom line is there are much nicer establishments with far superior practices than this one, for about the same price.

It’s a nice spot !!! I lost my phone some guy found it and gave it to the security guard and the security guard hold onto my phone and gave it to me. Very generous man and the security guard and I thought I lost my ID and I called Layla lounge. A guy picked up with a nice voice was searching for my ID. He said he hopes for me to come back. I will. If you lose your items just call Layla they will help you find it. You don’t see much generous people around. God was by my side. Thank You.

Last night was a complete waste of my time. We arrived at Layla Lounge at about 11pm and there was a line, fine. Thirty minutes later, the line still hadn’t moved. They weren’t allowing anybody inside. There was a line for ladies and I guess another for VIP. Only people that where VIP were being allowed in. I also did not like the way security was«patting down» the ladies. My friend and I decided to go to U street instead.

Any club where security needs to put their hands inside my bra is not the place for me. Stayed a total of 20 minutes before going some where else. Waste of my time and money.

One star is even too good. I will never go to this place again! The staff was very unprofessional especially security and the folks at the door. The bartender was nice, the drinks were ok, and the food was good but we waited 30 mins for wings. The crowd itself was young and just ratchet, and they wanted to charge you for every thing. Some of my people end up paying $ 60 – 70 just to enjoy the whole club. I’ve never had such a horrible club experience. I will be sending emails and writing letters to the owner.

mehhh. ^ that accurately sums up how I feel about this place. Located near union market/NE, this is out of the way for my usual weekend sauntering, but when a friend invited me to a party hosted here, I decided to go along with the flow. To start, I was padded down before entering … –_____– why? I don’t know if the right question is why do I need to be padded down before entering an establishment, or why I chose to be at a place where this was commonplace? Either way, we continued on inside. the place isn’t bad, it’s clean, it’s spacious(or at least it was until we left), there’s food available(we didn’t order any, but noted the option), the DJ was good… but it was still missing something. The ingredients for success were there but it’s isolated, and the vibe was just off. Won’t go out of my way to try this place again … maybeee for another event? Maybe, only.

Went here one Saturday night with a date. Big mistake! This place is HOOD, with a capital H. Soo many young kids and they had advertised FREE food. So I am thinking yayy free food. Not! When I got there, all they had that was free was some small chicken wings that the waitress passed around on a platter with toothpicks! So u got one wing and that is all. ONEWING. lol. smh. never again!
