When you go here, keep in mind it’s a corner store. It’s not meant to be glamorous by any means, but it does have your basic food and household goods when you are in a bind. They have snacks like Nutter Butters to dishwashing soap. The staff are friendly too!

I love that there’s soymilk! How convenient. There was a big watermelon that I wanted to buy, but the employee said the watermelon is just used to cut up and make little cups of watermelon. I guess that makes sense – it did seem odd for the store to sell big watermelons.

Keeping in mind this is only a corner grocery store, it deserves it’s five stars. Like most corner stores, it’s not quite fancy and organized. You can find what you want but there’s no flashy displays or shelf tags. It’s just exactly what it is: a neighborhood corner store. But what I really like is the people there have always been friendly and chatty. I’ll stop by with the little one and they always say hi, talk baby talk with her(she’s two years old) and acknowledge she exists where grocery stores and drug stores are pretty impersonal. Also, corner stores tend to cost less for the same products as grocery stores and drug stores. They don’t need to mark up everything to make an extra buck to pay for fancy membership card programs and newspaper ads. Service is important to me. This place delivers. They do require a minimum on credit/debit card purchases which is a peeve of mine, but if it helps them survive the big stores getting ever closer to this part of town, I’m okay with it.
