Terrible service. I had an online order of two breakfast samplers add red potatoes and biscuits and instead of adding on they actually replaced my hash browns and one of my pancakes and that’s only the first part. Secondly, I ordered two orders of the five buttermilk pancakes and got shorted a total of four. I’m done with this ihop

Let’s see how can I put this its the only IHOP in the district so I will give kudos to that. The atmosphere is not really what I would prefer, it’s more the people it attracts than anything. I usually get the same two things when I go to IHOP, the steak tips or chicken fingers with a Belgian waffle. I had the chicken fingers and and waffle and it was really good. Overall I have no complaints, the servers were nice and very helpful and very pleasant but again three stars or even because of the environment in which the store has no control over but I am glad that there’s an IHOP that is one stop away from me and I hope they stay around herein the district. Oh and don’t forget to sign up for their eclub.

Honestly if I could give 0 stars I would. Some friends and I went to this ihop this morning and received the worst customer service in life. We arrived about 4:30am, was sat about 5am. Didnt see a waiter until I finally went to the host stand and told her we had yet to see anyone or even received water(its now 5:25am). Finally our server comes(His name is Pierre) and we put our order in. Another 20mins go by we now have to flag down Pierre because we still havent gotten any water and starting to wonder where our food is. He brushes us off and tells us hes putting in someone elses order. At this point one of my friends goes to one of the women passing out water and asks her if she could give us some water since our server has yet to do so. I get up and ask another server to see a manager because it is now 6:00am and still NOFOOD. FINALLY with an attitude Pierre comes with our food. Its cold, some sides are missing and I dont even get my order. We tell him this and he just walks off. So I walked after him, got to his manger and told him this was extremely ridiculous and we were all pissed off. The manager was also very rude and pretty much nonchalant about the situation saying«Pierre is just having a bad night» He eventually tells us our food would be out as soon as possible and we wouldnt have to pay(No shit) I also requested a new server and said I didnt want to see Pierres face for the rest of the time we were there. Instead of the manager putting in our order or making sure it was actually going in to the kitchen, we had to wait until the new server came to finally take our order. He was much better. We finally got our food close to 7:30am. And the manager asks us «Is everything better?» We tell him yes. He responded with«Shocker» and walked off. We grabbed our bags and boxed up our food and headed out Before we left though we saw another one of Pierres tables looking very upset, they walked over to our table and we told them to have VERY low expectations. This was the WORST experience I have ever had. Btw my friends and I work in the restaurant business so we definitely expected better smh

Was p drunk when I came here as you can imagine. But I must negate the overwhelmingly negative reviews with my own. I’m here to say that it’s gotten better.. . The first time I came here we didn’t get our food until 45 min after we ordered it, and a member of our party got so drunk he went to the bathroom and disappeared shortly there after. I never saw that guy again. This time was different. David and I both ordered the chicken and waffles and it came out in a reasonable amount of time(like 15 min). We both left the place full and without getting disappeared so it is a good IHOP.

DONOTWASTEYOURETIMEHERE!!! Came here late night with my friend for end of the night food and WOW. Never have had such bad service. Waited in line forever, finally the hostess took our name and said ten minutes. But for some reason THEYKEPTSEATING the people that came in behind us!!! I don’t want to or like using the race preference reason(on their end) but it was so obvious that we should’ve been next that I have no other explanation for it. I almost said something but then the hostess saw me looking at her and then all of a sudden we were seated next. Waited at least a good ten minutes once seated for our waitress and she was less than friendly and when I inquired about gluten free options she said she didn’t know and then went to go ask and I was told there was none. Not wanting to risk making myself sick we decided to leave. Basically wasted 30 – 40 minutes for no reason. I go online the next day and THEYDOHAVEGLUTENFREEOPTIONSRIGHTTHEREONTHEWEBSITE. So she just flat out lied because I guess she didn’t want to serve us for some reason. Personally when I’m at work(and i do work in customer service) I’m there to make money. So all I have to say, if you want to waste your time, be discriminated against and then lied to so you don’t patronize here then by all means have at it. However, me and my friend will never be back to this horrid place.

Terrible customer service. Not because it’s IHOP. This one is particularly terrible.

It was good back in the days when it first opened here. But now it just well, I wish the Unilocal app had a option to give negative stars. The standard wait time of food is 10 — 15 minutes. I’ve waited 21 minutes for an omelet. …just an omelet. It doesn’t take that long to cook eggs. The place rather old and I feel unsafe there even with the late night security. No longer coming here. Unless with friends or a desperate craving for IHOP.

Wasn’t really a fan. They were training an employee during our time when we were at the restaurant. My major complaint was that the waitress did not listen to any of our request. We requested hot syrup and she never brought it out. We requested our bacon to be cooked a little longer and it’s like she wasn’t paying attention to anything we said. How can you expect a reasonable tip when you can’t honor simple requests.

Its a 24 hour IHOP so I’m sure they have a reason to have a slight attitude at 3AM but wait. When I say I got into a full back to back argument with the asshole late night manager Steve it was horrible. I could not believe he was the manager he was so unprofessional and catty. We waited 45 minutes for a server to just greet us and when we complained about it Steve said we should be understanding because its busy. Save your time and energy and go to the 24 hour Diner in Adams Morgan great food and location.

The place is huge and the interior design is kinda old. I wish they had more chocolate choices on the menu instead of all the fruit options. I love pancakes in any form or shape! They tasted great! I come here when I want to pig out on the sweets. less on the food choices.

I feel like it’s important to always check your expectations before you go somewhere. IHOP is IHOP and you can’t expect gourmet pancakes or omelets when you go there. This is what I expected and what I received: — Good service: a warm welcome and prompt sitting. A kind waitress and my cup of coffee always full. I got exactly that. — An average to good omelet with some fluffy pancakes on the side and guess what? I got a really good omelet with delicious fluffy pancakes on the side. Breakfast was good, abundant and service measured up and that makes a happy me. Go IHOP! You’ve made me happy! :)

Came in around 9am on a Friday morning and had attentive, polite service. Food came out quickly, was warm and good. This location is very easy to get to – right outside Columbia Heights metro station. Will be back.

If I could rate a zero I would do that. I just received the worst customer service I have ever received in my entire life. I was literally cursed out by a very unpleasant worker/server at this location. I was told: «I can’t stand fuckers that sit in my section without asking». When I walked in there were four servers sitting in the back doing absolutely nothing while several tables were sitting waiting for service. I can’t believe this type of behavior as tolerated at a place in my neighborhood… So unfortunate. I will never return to this location ever. My complaint will not end here. Corporate will be called immediately.

Open 24 hours, that itself is a big one — especially since everything else(Five Guys, Panera, Chipotle) was already closed for the night. I was out Friday night, and it was sort of late. Because I was already so close to the Metro station and it was cold as !@#$, rather than wasting time looking around, it made sense to just step into IHOP. I also like that it’s just steps away from the station. I was pleased with the server. I ordered a Philly cheese steak(could have used a bit more salt) with a side of fries(these were sprinkled with old bay and tasted delicious). I had a Unilocal check-in deal for a free sundae, but it was über cold and really late. I’ll probably revisit this location at another time and definitely use the offer then!

It’s an IHOP. You don’t come here for gourmet cuisine or an elegant ambiance. You come here because you enjoy fluffy, delicious pancakes, yummy strawberry syrup, and perfectly cooked eggs. I have no complaints about this location and fine the wait staff to be quite pleasant.

We decided on this IHOP early morning around 230am because we were downtown and needed an open kitchen for food! We decided not to go to the southside(Alabama Ave, St. Barnabas Rd, Forestville locations) in fear of complete foolery. We were sat right away, drinks were taken and THEN the foolery began. –Police were summoned to the women’s bathroom… 3 males, 1 female. –The waitress closed our check out before we were officially ready to go. –Since the waitress had an emergency and had closed us out, we asked what appeared to be the manager for assistance with a refill request that wasn’t honored. He said he’d get assistance. We watched him(in no particular way or fashion) because he decided to finish his task at hand, rather than summon a waiter and delegate the duty. He instantly looked up, got an attitude and explained that his hands were filthy and unsanitary to get the drink. We stopped two more waiters after for assistance. Finally, I left with my refill in a to-go cup. –Parties in the next booth were active(banging and jerking our booth seat for almost our entire meal.) –The food came out extra late. The request to the waiter was that we get a check to pay for our drinks and cancel our food order unless the food was up and ready. She came 15 minutes later with food. –As a 24hr establishment, management was horrible. They should be accustomed to the club let out crowd. People weren’t even rowdy or obnoxious, just straggling in looking for a bite. SIGH I hate that I feel the need to write this, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t… I cringe when waiters’ hands look like they worked on a car(tire, lube, etc.) before, serving my food. We almost canceled our orders based on that alone. I’m not looking for manicures, just washed hands, moisturized with decently clipped nails.

Unlike a couple of other Unilocal reviews, I’ve always had a good experience at this location. Attentive staff, minimal wait time for seating, and considerably clean for an IHOP in a busy location. Although, it does take the kitchen a bit of time to prepare the food. I like coming here on Sunday’s before noon. You can get plenty of breakfast staples for less than $ 10.

I came here with my friend to get free pancakes for wearing green on St. Patrick’s Day. It was worth it. Not to mention, Peter is the best server!!! He’s an old man who even blessed our water to make it holy. Oh, what a gem from California!

This location honestly is not bad guys! I really do hope that the kitchen area and cooks are cleaner than the waiters. Their appearance is always something to hope for. The food is universal throughout all IHOPS in my opinion. I’ve never had a bad experience, the waiters always do their due diligence. Many times I’ve come when they were full and had no tables and there was a wait so I would order to go, and in some instances they have no tables available and in less than 5 minutes you’re seated, but in EVERY visit, my food has come out in less than 10 minutes after I’ve placed my order! Whoop Whoop! Only concern is the appearance of the wait staff!

I’m not a fan of chain restaurants anyway, so please take my review with a grain of salt. My iHOP experience was also at like 3am on NYE, so probably not typical, but who knows, maybe they are packed at 3am every night. The service was nice, but super slow(probably because they were slammed), and the food was what you would expect. I’d say go elsewhere, but there really aren’t that many more options for 3am breakfasts in the area.
