I’ve lived in the area for 10 years and food here was very good up until maybe the summer of 2015, maybe sooner. This is during the time I realized a change in staffing. Well, I believe the business is under new ownership and the food is utterly disgusting. Last night, I got a small shrimp friend rice, a shrimp lo mein, and a shrimp egg roll. I have absolutely no reason to lie, the rice looked like plain yellow rice with a couple onions and small shrimp, absolutely no taste. The lo mein tasted old like they repurposed or warmed up noodles that weren’t sold from last week. The egg roll was bland, the shell was soft and had no flavor whatsoever. I am completely disappointed. Although I don’t write many reviews, I had to get on here and warn folks of this place because again, in the last 10 years, this was a staple take out spot in my community. To see a change in ownership is one thing, but for the quality and taste of food to suffer so terribly is another thing. Please save your coins and order take out elsewhere. New Century in Hyattsville MD is good(they just don’t deliver).

Ordered wings and fried rice special and beef and broccoli with white rice. There was orange HAIR in my beef and broccoli. Wings were bland and rice had way too many bean sprouts. When I complained about the hair in my food, instead of being offered a refund, I was first questioned on why I didn’t complain sooner(It was only the afternoon after, I’d ordered around 10 pm the night before, place doesn’t open til 11AM) he then told me to call back for a free order next time I was hungry, as if I’d want more bland food from a restaurant with unsanitary conditions.

the delivery people are nice — that’s why this place gets 1 star(plus, you have to give one star). we have tried this place multiple times; it’s always pretty gross. i think i end up here because i forget. the food is just awful.

Convinced to draft a review after the 2 star overall review. Loved the beef with garlic sauce(ordered with no vegetables and spicy — delicious). Love the classy presentation of the crab wontons(lettuce bed). Standard crab wontons. Steak and cheese egg roll was awesome. Great for a standard Chinese/American takeout in DC.

We tried ordering from this place as something new and if I could give them negative stars I would. The delivery service was slow, the people on the phone were rude and the delivery guy was also rude. They did not deliver all of our food and when I called too complain the woman yelled at me, basically called me a liar and eventually hung up on me! I will NEVER order from this restaurant again and STRONGLY caution anyone who is considering ordering!

This food gave me the runs. The food I got there was rancid and sickening. I order General Taos chicken and I don’t think it was chicken meat. It was rubbery. I know they say everything taste like chicken and I think these people take that to heart. Don’t order from this place unless you want to spend time on the toilet.

Also a Catholic University student. This place get a lot of business from Catholic kids. It’s your typical take out chinese place. If you like bad chinese, this is your spot. Luckily, much to my girlfriend’s dismay(and I’m sure to my Unilocal discredation), I love bad Chinese food, so I hop in from time to time. Their $ 5 lunch specials are a decent deal. Not particularly friendly, the lady that takes the phone orders is short and the delivery drivers are pricks, and not particularly swift. Don’t be looking for anything great, but if your looking for typical, standardized take out chinese, you found yourself a spot.

I don’t order delivery very often, and Hunan Delight is one of the reasons why. Based on a flier shoved under my door advertising«natural and organic» cusine, I placed on order with Hunan Delight. My bad. Just because it’s «natural and organic» doesn’t mean it’s any good, or that it tastes any better than any other local Chinese take-away. Maybe it’s better for me, but if I don’t want to eat it, then it sort of defeats the purpose. The double cooked pork was soggy and too vinegary and the«Triple Delight» was anything but delightful. Save your money and get take out from Tony Chen’s.

As a CU student, I eat here a lot. And by a lot I mean at least twice a month. The food is pretty decent, but its definitely super americanized Chinese. The crab rangoon are pretty delicious and that is my favorite thing from there. Other than that, all the sauces(szechuan, general tsos, sesame) all taste basically the same. Which is why the three stars… I guess I’m just used to really good Chinese at home in Chicago. Delivery is pretty fast and reliable.

We always order from Hunan Delight. The food is always delicious, never overcooked, and very tasteful. The soups are great. I usually go with a spicy dish. The delivery guy knows us since we order about twice a month.
