Delivery through UberEats: not good. Gyro platter: no sauce, not much gyro meat. The pita bread, tough and paper thin. Falafel platter: for being the«king of falafel», very bad. The falafel was old and cold, and throwing some lemon juice over everything makes up for… nothing. Also: two small pieces of falafel? Booo. We also got a cheesesteak, and it was an ok sandwich. Not great. And definitely no resemblance, whatsoever, to a Philly cheesesteak. I will not order from there again.

Man, that new lamb shawerma wrap they have is incredible. I got the platter and replaced the hummus with their garlic paste, and boy was that a meal that swept me off my feet and made my mood go from 0 to 100. Unlike Munchies and some of these other silly places, this place is generous and will fill you up. Their sandwiches are no joke! I wouldn’t go anywhere else for a shawerma sandwich ever again!

I ordered the chicken Shwarma and did not want the platter as it looked like a lot. I was waiting about 15 minutes for my order as the staff was more focused on online or pick up orders before mine. I got my sandwich that came with no sauces, just the sandwich. Not the best service for someone that was excited to come in for the first time

George’s really is the king of cheesesteaks. They have a ton of super authentic Mediterranean and middle eastern dishes like Labneh and Halomi cheese sandwiches.

Born in Philly. This is not a cheesesteak. Gyro was good but tzatziki could have been more garlicky.

Superb food! Good price! Poor customer service! Yes yes… I should give 3-star ratings due to its ill service. Everyone knows that part of the hospitality business is providing excellent service to the customer service. Hot water jar in the tea corner was nearly empty as it was so hard to pump! everyone incl me trying to get some water to brew our tea. The manager/owner stood next to it and literally did nothing. Yes nothing! Just watched! He didn’t even make any effort to ask some help. Just stood there and watched!

Came here for the steak gyro that came highly recommended by my roommate. We ordered at the cash register and went upstairs to sit. The food didn’t take too long and was definitely worth the trip to Georgetown. We also tried the Nutella crepes. Can’t ever go wrong with those!

Two stars because I didn’t get sick. If you have ever traveled to the Middle East, you deserve to be slapped in the face for calling this the best Shawarma or Falafel. Haha. Greasy and heavy food, perfect for the drunk walker – hands down. If you are looking for quality or real Middle Eastern food, you’ll be disappointed. These are just wraps of meet, pressed on a sandwich maker. I really wanted to like it, but when I feel like having shawarma, or falafel… That’s what I wanna get! I’m not sure if pita bread is actual pita bread here. It was pretty thin… It looked like a crêpe. Lesson learned: When a place serves all kinds of foods, they don’t really respect traditions. Crepes, empanadas, gyros, tacos, burritos, falafel and shawarma can all be made in the same kitchen. One way or another, it is all meat wrapped on a sheet of dough!

People don’t understand that this place isn’t a place where you can just order whatever. You have to know what to get. I actually really like their Steak and Cheese. I recommend people should try it. A good spot after going out. The place does needs a clean up though. Those stairs to go upstairs freak me out. I always feel like I’m going to fall.

We came here for a late night dinner and ordered the mixed grill and fries to go. The portion is plenty enough for two. The hummus was really good and I liked the rice also. The meat tasted a bit dry and I wasn’t a fan of the pickles.

A gyro experience has never made me so sad. So many things wrong here: — portions are tiny! My lamb gyro wasn’t worth the $ 7 — «sorry we don’t do cups of water» what kind of decent establishment doesn’t give out free water? It hurt to pay $ 2 for my bottled water — the décor, the dirty floors, the layout… not a place I’ll be returning to — they toasted the wrap after putting the ingredients in so it was like a gyro panini. The pita wasn’t soft and chewy like I’d expected. The ingredients were okay. Would rather go to Moby Dick Kabob!

Don’t know if it matters what time you show up to Eat at Georges, or how many people you come in with. There were 6 of us and it took 20 minutes before we got the first order and a total of 30 minutes before everyone had their plates. Waiting aside, it was worth the wait! The amount of food for the special plates we could have shared, and still have left overs. I had the Chicken Shawarma(try saying that fast three times) delicious! Love the sauces, and the little vegetables that come with the meal. It’s easy to walk by the place, and it’s very tiny when you walk thru the door, but they do have upstairs seating… loved the dollar bills tacked around the place.

Updates: On Friday evening I had friends visiting from NY. Their bus broke and needed some repairs. They decided to eat and I suggested George’s. We ordered in total 27 Shawerma sandwiches. In 20 to 30 minutes the order was ready. Super fast… Way to go guys. Keep it up!

Walking down M street looking for a place to grab lunch and I stumbled upon George’s — im glad I did! I asked the young man at the front what he suggested and he pointed to some juicy looking sandwiches on the grill, a chicken shawarma sandwich. The meal came with fries and salad on the side and it was mmm mmm good! Great meal at a reasonable price makes me a very happy lady!

I just threw away $ 20. The kabob platter was lamb, which would have been fine for some except it was advertised as beef. And I’m allergic to lamb. The hummus is so liquified it’s a tad thicker than soup – and zero flavor. Just bad olive oil. The baklava. How can you mess that up? They did. I took one bite and spat it out. Disgusting. The one star is for the single falafel I ordered. I mean, how can you call yourself the king of falafel if you can’t do that right? It was… decent. But then again, I was starving.

So you should just turn around and go back to where ever you came from. George maybe king of the Falafel and everything else they have listed. The one thing they are not«King» of is their cheesesteaks’, this is where they have been dethroned. I’m sorry there pally, but you haven’t the faintest clue on how a cheesesteak should be made, or how it should taste. What I or I should say we experienced was something so rancid, words can’t express what was served to us. It serves me right to think I was going to get a somewhat decent cheesesteak in D.C.. To give you an example of how George prepares a cheesesteak, this is what you’d see on his menu: He calls it a «Steak & Cheese» by the way, with the options of chicken if you’re not into beef. They feel you need to put almost everything on this, so in turn it is almost like a cheesesteak hoagie. These guy put lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise, onion, green pepper, hot pepper & mushrooms on every one of them, unless you tell them what you want. Myself I think that’s too much drama going on if you ask me. Instead I asked just for cheese(American), fried onions with hot peppers with ketchup. My friend asked for one, with a majority of the add-ons minus the shrooms, with extra meat and cheese. This is where it turned for the worse, trust me I wish I hadn’t come in here. One more note, take a look at their grille, they really don’t clean anything off before adding a different item. So basically you are tasting EVERY-ONES order that went in that day, and night. This abomination of a cheesesteak was horrible. The meat was half burnt and all dry, they added mayo on mine, but get this, it was their Tuziki sauce. This is what you’d use on a Gyro, or Falafel, not a cheesesteak. So what I want you to do is look at your shoes, take one off, add some kind of condiment on it and start eating it. That’s the closest kind of picture I can paint for you in what I and my friend had to deal with. I had taken 3 bites, 4th bite went right in the garbage, the bottle of water I had to throw down could not get that nasty taste out. I am sorry but I’m pretty sure the next time I’m in D.C. I know I will not come back over here.

I have lived in Georgetown for almost two years now, and I never knew this little gem was nestled right off of M Street. As someone who enjoys falafel, I would give this place a solid two thumbs up! I ordered the falafel sandwich. The falafel was flavorful and moist. The sandwich was served in a wrap that was crisp and complimented the sandwich well. I receommend getting the sandwich with their recommended fixings. The restaurant itself is very easily missable, as there it sits in a ligghtly trafficked area of M St. The people inside were fairly welcoming, and it seems to be family operated. I was happy to see that they do delivery. I’m sure that this place will make its way into my list of preferred falafel spots.
