DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse

I love these people. Not all DSW locations are the same. This one is awesome. It is across the street from Mazza Gallery. There is street parking but you are in competition with everyone else. There is a garage attached to the mall. The employees are very nice. The second floor has a clearance section. Not all of the deals are exciting but I found a pair of tennis shoes for $ 18 on clearance aka «Uncle Clarence.»
The manager was nice when I had a price issue. I will be back!

DSW is a great shoe store and you can find lots of other stuff i.e. purses, accessories, socks. The other day I went here and bought a pair of shoes… that I ended up returning. For some reason when I went to take them back — I forgot my receipt. SO ANNOYING. The girl at the front said no problem and scanned my DSW card and was able to do the refund. Got me thinking, why don’t all places do this so no one ever has to fumble with a receipt again? Anyways, I thought that was a nice touch. I wrote down her name, but then of course, lost my receipt again (without fail). I know it started with a T. So, «T» — thanks. :)
I know they are a corporate chain, but it’s nice to have people who work in a particular store provide customer satisfaction.
PROS:

— friendly people working there — several people upstairs actually helped me find stuff, including a nice older man with an accent.
— elevator (I had my kiddo with me and stroller)

— street parking horrendous!
— too many shoes to decide upon! :)

Great modern fresh style shoes … If you are looking for shoes you should not miss out on this place. Definitely more affordable and a larger selection than the other shore departments at Bloomingdales and nordstroms in this area.

Sooooooo maaaaaanyyy shoooooooessss. Great addition to Friendship Heights. The sales associates are friendly and attentive, when they’re around. The floor can sometimes be totally devoid of staff and I have to walk up to the counter to ask questions. The size selection is not great but they’ll check if it’s available online or at another store.

The store is shiny and new, but the stock is… nonexistent. They rarely have the most popular sizes (7 – 9).

I bought boots from this DSW and the cashier did not take off ink theft safety tag. She took the boots out of the box, inspected them, placed them back in but did not take off the ink tab.
Now I have to spend my own time and money traveling back to this DSW so they can fix their own mistake. Unacceptable.

What a great addition to this shopping area. There’s tons of space for new shoes.
At some point, we did ask some sales associates for help finding a shoe, and while they looked pretty seriously for 10 minutes, they suddenly disappeared, and my mom and I realized they had just given up. My mom and I ultimately ended up finding the shoes ourselves by accident…
Good sales section!

Tonight’s soft opening of DSW’s Friendship Heights location was replete with cupcakes, champagne, giveaways, a DJ, and of course tons and tons of shoes! The store officially opens this Thursday, but tonight I got a chance to preview the layout of this new store.
This location has two levels. The first floor consists of women’s casual, fitness, and dress shoes as well as accessories, handbags, and the check out line. The second floor level is where you can find women’s boots and men’s shoes. The men’s section was looking a bit lonely tonight, but as this is a shopping event, it was expected that the ratio of women to men would be 3 to 1.
Bargain lovers (and who doesn’t love a good bargain?) should head straight to the back of the 2^nd floor level for the familiar clearance rack.
Insider tip: This store gets new shoes Monday through Thursday, so shop during the week for the best selection!
I didn’t see anything in this store that I haven’t seen recently in other DSW stores, but I love the location, so I’ll definitely stop in here again.
