Asked them to replace cracked screen for First Generation Moto X. It did not end well. 1. There was a persistent problem of miscommunication and failure to update me on the situation. Initially, I was given a date that I assumed was the completion date, but was later told that it was the date the part would arrive. I thought, «okay, that could be miscommunication. Could be my fault.» I was given a second date, when they would call me when repair is done. I never received the call and called them myself a few days later to check on the status. I was told that they tried to reach out to me, but could not. My cell phone’s record never indicated a call from their number or any new number during this period. Nor did I see any voicemail, text message, etc. After I found out there were problems with the repair(more on that later), and they knew that I did not have a working phone with me, they took my email address to update me on whether they could resolve the problem. Again, no update until I went into the store in person, at which point they showed me my phone and told me that they could not resolve the issue. 2. Completed the repair, but introduced new problem with the phone. The initial repair looked good, but something was wrong with the proximity sensor so that the screen would turn dark whenever I tried to make a call. The manager very generously offered to order a new screen to see if they could resolve the issue. They did not, claimed that the proximity sensor issue was motherboard-related, and denied that it was the repair that caused the issue. Nothing more was offered to remedy the situation. They could be right, but I don’t recall seeing the proximity sensor problem before the repair. That’s what I would argue if I hadn’t decided that I’d seen enough. 3. Not Recommended The staff members and managers were cordial throughout. They did seem to care when they spoke with me. All of the things described above could just be a series of unfortunate coincidences that happened to well meaning people. If they were completely honest with me, then they also lost some money, labor, and time to get to this point. That said, I can’t recommend their service in good conscience after so many things went wrong.
