Music was too loud and sloppy. Food was bland and not cooked well .The staff tried to rip me off. There has to be better jazz in dc besides Columbia Station.

We order several appetizers and the calamari was hard, the nachos were chips out of a bag cheese on 3 chips on the top 3 pieces of chicken no guacamole or beans. I should gave been clued in when everyone we passed when walking in was eating a salad. Loved the music

Everything started out great at Columbia Station. My drink(vodka soda) was fine and arrived fairly quickly and the music and environment were good as well. Unfortunately, the waitress never came back to our table. Ever. An hour later after finishing our drinks and I had to approach the bar to close out the tab. Despite the bar being nearly empty and two waitresses being behind the counter it took about 10 minutes. When the bill finally arrived it had charges for our drinks and then a third line for«Call — $ 9». I asked them to remove that charge(which I’m quite sure was an attempt to fleece me for $ 9) and waited another 5 – 10 minutes, still standing at the bar. All in all I don’t like having to stand around for 15+ minutes in order to leave a place, but that alone isn’t enough for me to say I wouldn’t come back. The fact that they blatantly tried to rip me off– that’s why I wont be returning to Columbia Station.

They had live jazz when we went there on a Saturday night and we really thought this place is cool, the name Columbia station is more like a radio station as opposed to a bus or a metro stop station. Getting a table was easy, our waiter was attentive. It was our last stop of the night so we didn’t eat or anything but they gave us very good service regardless. They are also generous with the drinks they serve which is great. The atmosphere is nice, good for dates and also good for friends who would hang out in a nice atmosphere. I enjoyed myself and I would highly recommend it!

I was invited here by friends. Can’t say anything about the food and appetizers but the Jazz music was awesome, fun, and relaxing after a long week. Maybe next time i can say something else if try something from their menu’s.

I went to Columbia Station at an awkward hour, between lunch and dinner. And so I didn’t order any food and I won’t be able to speak on behalf of the dining experience. It was a summer afternoon, the large windows to the front of the restaurant were propped open to attract the passing by crowd. The jazz was definitely refreshing.

Dropped by with my friend around 11pm on a Friday night. This place is a gem amidst a sea of not so desirable bars and restaurants in Adams Morgan. The strip was hopping with jumbo slice and lots of drunk people, but we slipped into Columbia Station, and goodness I was glad we did! It was sparse, with ample seating(tables, chairs, bar stools, etc.). A band was playing some jazz standards and originals. We each got a drink and sat and listened to music for about 30 minutes before walking home. I can’t speak for the food, but I thoroughly enjoyed the music and vibe!

This jazz spot was cool, like a live jazz spot should be. Staff was super nice and friendly. The hummus was good, kinda basic. The chicken sandwich was really basic. The music awesome drinks strong

This place looks like it could easily be featured on ‘Kitchen Nightmares’. We came here during Adams Morgan day and the place was empty. We were seated at a sticky table with flimsy chairs. The interior is dark, dated and uninviting. After we stared at dirty menus for about 15 minutes, the waiter finally appeared to take our orders and informed us that the food will take at least 25 minutes(again, the place was literally deserted). My friends were hungry so we stayed. They had a quesadilla, some salad with feta, pasta, chicken and a steak. I was considering getting something, but after their food came out I lost my appetite — it was presented horribly, everything looked gross and inedible. Nobody enjoyed their food(although the chicken was ‘ok’). The waiter mixed up our orders and really struggled with conveying the few simple modifications my friend made to her salad to the kitchen staff. Maybe if we came here for jazz and just had some drinks, it would be ok. But as a dining venue this place is not worthy of your time.

If you’re interested in seeing a manager push a waitress then raise his hand to hit her, this is the place for you. Horrible, frightening experience for everyone involved. Feel sorry for the musicians who play here because this incident should certainly make customers think twice before spending their money at this establishment.

Came here on a Saturday night because it seemed like a good lounge to relax, listen to music and have a few drinks. Admittedly, it does have a good vibe and good music… but the service is terrible. It took 30 minutes standing at the bar to get a bad drink. And no, there was no line. Just bad employees who didn’t care.

OMG! Jazz was amazing! Love it! The array of musicians may all be dressed different, but the sound is a great combination! Well done! #Talented

First time in the Adams Morgan neighborhood, heard the music and my other half walked in. I soon followed and to my surprise a Jazz trio was playing. What a dive. Can’t wait to return.

Went Friday night. Still cheap but strong drinks… Good live music even if the group barely looked old enough to shave. Always a favorite spot to visit… I still eat someplace else and come there for drinks

Visited Columbia Station for their Friday night jazz and loved every minute of it! Great place to catch up with friends and a much more tempered weekend option than the rest of the madhouse that is Adams Morgan. Can’t wait to come back!

In the weekend night craziness of Adams Morgan, Colombia Station is a place that gets loss in the chaos. That said, it is such a GREAT people watching spot! My friends and I were easily amused here from 10:30pm onwards. It was nice to sit outside, sip on our dranks, and see the eclectic mix of passerbys. Downside? Drink service is slow. There may have been one bartender for all of us. Something to note: This is a live jazz spot, at least on Friday night. If you sit inside the décor is on the fancier side and an older crowd. If you sit outside, it is real casual. Take your pick!

I was at a loose end in Washington one night 3 years ago. I called up a Taxi to find me a Karaōke. I’m an old guy and a Jazz fan. I found a Karaōke but didn’t think it quite my scene amongs lots of young students. It was then I found a great Jazz Club, Columbia Station and had a wonderful time in Art Deco surroundings with some lovely people. It was a gas man.

Pros Live jazz Cons Bad drinks Interesting older crowd of jazz lovers wearing sunglasses indoors, french berets, etc.(I didn’t like it, but you might) What I got «Ella», $ 10 «Washington Apple», $ 10 What I thought We came here on a Sunday night. We were drawn to the place from the big«LIVEJAZZ» sign glowing in the front window. I’m not a jazz fan, but I thought it was noisy and too loud to have a conversation. There was a very pretty rose on each table. The ambience is actually pretty nice, but the loud music didn’t go well with the intimate and relaxed ambiance. There were candles on our table, but they were not lit. There was some random hairs on the tablecloth(look at picture). Our drinks were pretty bad, which is the main reason why I probably wouldn’t come back.

Loved the jazzy vibe! We stumbled across this place and popped in for a glass of wine. The jazz band were awesome. A band of guys from all over the world, who put in a real show! They had a local chef from New Orleans, the menu sounded great but we had just eaten unfortunately. Highly recommended for a evening of jazz and wine!
