Super friendly guy that’ll spend time talking through your order to make sure it’s what you want. Everything came out looking incredible and professional. There is also plenty of room to barter/negotiate prices and services if you’re into that kind of thing.

I stopped in to Capitol Hill Framing shop with three empty frames and three pictures that I wanted to use with the expectation of just getting a price quote. I was very pleased with the service that John gave as he showed me multiple options of matting and gave suggestions on how to make the frames look better. I was especially happy when he offered to complete the project the same day(I wasn’t getting glass cut) if I decided to go ahead with the project. I did and the product was more than I expected. Thanks, Capitol Hill Framing Shop!

I had a picture and a diagram to frame for my dad’s retirement that I needed done quickly. They agreed to get it done in three days instead of the normal week or so, as long as I picked materials they had on hand. I was impressed by their customer service at that point. A day later a family emergency came up so I called to let them know not to rush as I would be out of town for a week. They called back 3 minutes later and said they could have it done in 20 minutes. It came out perfectly and needless to say I am blown away by their service.

Great service after a Living Social purchase for $ 200 in framing services for $ 49. I had a large, odd-sized antique map to be framed and was really pleased with the help I received. Got great consultation on the right style frame for my art(I would’ve gone a totally different, and probably wrong, direction), and was impressed with the thorough measurement done on an(unbeknownst to me) unevenly-sized piece. The finished product was gorgeous, and they completed it quickly just before Christmas. Price was still a bit steep even after my Living Social deal, but the quality of service and the product were top-notch.

I’m new to DC — came here from New York City — and I needed to find a framer here that was both reasonable and had a good«eye» for framing pieces. I decided to bring three unframed prints to framing shops in DuPont Circle, Georgetown and Capitol Hill and see what they had to say. In Dupont, I visited Picasso Gallery Custom Framing. In Georgetown, Georgetown Frame Shoppe. In Capitol Hill, it was this store — Capitol Hill Framing shop. Long story short, the first two shops did not impress me with their selection, nor did they seem to understand what I was looking for in terms of style, elegance, etc. On top of that, their prices were crazy high. When I walked into Capitol Hill Framing Shop, I met Ray and his colleague whose name escapes me at the moment. I showed them the same three prints and they offered a number of ideas, all tasteful. They also offered to do them quickly and, using an advertised discount they were offering, the price was MUCH cheaper than the other two shops. I then left for a moment and returned with 20 other pieces to be framed. The first three were simply a test. Needless to say, they were pleasantly surprised and they worked with me, piece by piece, to make sure each print, photo, art piece and drawing was mounted, matted and framed to my liking. A few weeks later, Ray called to say they were all done and I picked them up. They’re now hanging on my walls and I love them. I will be giving these guys all my business and signed up on Unilocal just to share this story. If you’re looking for framing in DC, go to Ray at Capitol Hill Framing Shop.
