B. David’s Custom Framing

I really had a bad experience with this place. I brought 2 canvases to be stretched and mounted — I was told that they’d be available within the week, and that they’d call back. After 1.5 weeks without hearing a response, I called them, and they said it would be ready within a few days. After I didn’t hear from them again, I proceeded to call several times, and no one answered or returned the calls.
Finally, after I went in person to inquire after the canvases, they said that they’d be ready within a few days. When I received the canvases, the mounting frames were too small and the canvases were too loose, so they had to go back and reinforce them.
Throughout this whole process, they were either completely unresponsive or very evasive. The end result was a shoddy project, and three weeks of stressful follow-​up on my part. I couldn’t recommend them less.

A few days later than expected, but my framed pictures came out great and for a good price! B. Davids is very convenient to my office and the owner is very personable and does an excellent job! Will return!

Four and a half stars — minus a half for being closed on weekends.
B. David’s is a small framing shop located in a corridor next to Border’s on L street. I ordered a print of an old photograph from the Navy archives and meant to get it framed for months. I had a random Friday off and decided to take it to B. David’s, which is only open on weekdays. The gentleman who helped me was friendly and professional and quickly picked out a sample of a frame that complemented my print. The price he quoted seemed a bit higher than I expected, but he gave me a discount because the frame was from a local supplier, so that was cool. I came back today to pick up my framed print and it looks AWESOME. The frame itself is great, they matted it beautifully, and they even stuck the description of the photo on the back of the frame. I’m really happy with the work they did. I think the price was reasonable and I would definitely go back.
I think they may suffer a bit because of their location, so I joined Unilocal just so I can post this review. I’d give them all five stars if they were open on weekends.
