The best Service from«Papa». The best drinks from the Bar! And the best prime rib and rainbow trout dinner ever. With yummy popovers. Can’t wait to go back. Easy walk from our lovely hotel Rouge.

Found this restaurant on Unilocal as I was staying in the area for a business trip. Wow what a great find. Had the sirloin steak and fried shrimps, calamari and Crab cake. Which for me became the star of the dish. It was a party in my mouth one bite at a time. Wash down with an ipa suggested by my server who he was very helpful and courteous. Thank you what a great meal and well priced. Will definitely go back if I’m back in DC.

My spouse and I are visiting from out of town and met our friend Kate, who recommended the place. The martinis were great. My crab cakes and cole slaw were good. My spouse and our friend both had steaks(rib eye and petite filet) which were cooked to perfection. Our server was so deliciously attentive that he cut up their steaks, and for Kate at least, he proceeded to feed her bite by bite without being at all intrusive. Lol. What a fabulous evening we enjoyed with good food and catching up with a dear friend.

Great breakfast & great service! Our waiter, Papa, was wonderful with our daughter, who was in a sad mood, and not only did he make her a special sample of their French Toast for her to try(she is finicky) but also let her put the order in the computer when he saw she was down. The food was very good, and everyone there was friendly and accommodating. We liked it so much we went back for dinner that night! Burgers, also very good. All in all an outstanding experience!

I came here in the summer. Our waitress was so friendly and the staff all make you feel so welcome! The food was also excellent. I had the queen cut and my husband had a ribeye. Both flavorful and cooked to a perfect medium rare. If you want great service and a good steak without having to go to a super ritzy place, this restaurant is excellent!

It has been over ten years since I’ve dined at Annie’s, and it was different, but still great. I had the 8 oz. Beef tips with peppers and I believe there was at least 12 oz. The baked potato was huge and perfectly cooked, and Cole slaw excellent. The place used to be more old school like a neighborhood diner/bar, but he place has a more upscale décor now. The bartender was efficient, but listening to him and the bar full of middle aged queens talking about their relationship problems was entertaining but got old!

Went here for an early dinner because I was seriously craving a burger. I was not disappointed. Our waiter was super friendly and helpful, the food came out super quickly, and I got one mouthwatering burger. Can’t wait to come back!

We were in town for a week on vacation. We were staying at a hotel on Dupont Circle. We found this place on Unilocal and decided to try it. We hadn’t had much luck with food in DC. This place is a hidden gem. The food, atmosphere, and server were excellent. I had the big porterhouse steak. Oh my goodness, it was good. Thanks for being a special part of our DC vacation. My wife and I loved our dinner here.

Cute place in a great location. I ordered a NY Strip. Great tasting steak. I ordered it medium rare, and while it was pink enough on the inside the outside was cooked a little more than I like. Everything else was just right — especially the jalapeño poppers from the appetizers menu.

The menu at Annies never changes and the vegetable of the day is(75 percent of the time) always broccoli. Don’t ask the kitchen to prepare your steak without salt — special preparation requests are mostly ignored. Annie’s has great bartenders and servers, but the establishment itself is totally NOT customer friendly. If you want personalized food service, go to any one of the other 50 restaurants within a 3 block radius! Hell, go to McDonalds just one block north. At least there, if you don’t like your meal, they will refund your purchase and let you select a more suitable meal.

Loved this restaurant. I had the filet mignon, with a baked potato and corn. It was very good. The meat was cooked exactly as I ordered, and everything was hot and fresh. Our waiter was very amusing, teasing us and taking excellent care of us throughout the meal. The dining area is very nice, with cloth napkins and comfortable seating. I will definitely eat here the next time I visit Washington. The neighborhood is very quiet and safe. This was one of the better meals I had during this week. For all the restaurants in DC, it’s not easy to find a place to eat that has not only great food but great service.

Dined here with a group of friends a couple of weeks ago, as many of them have dined here before and enjoyed the food at this gayborhood institute. I ordered the Rib Eye at medium rare temperature with an addition of Fried Clams, but got a steak that was about ½″ thick and cooked to a medium well temp. I dislike eating steaks that are cooked almost to well done. In addition, the fried clams served with it are prepackaged frozen. I ended up sending the steak back. The new steak was much thicker and was cooked to the right temperature. Though service was good and attentive, the food for me was OK, nothing special.

As a Chicago resident, there are few restaurants in Washington, DC that instantly come to mind when I think of good comfort food. Annie’s is at the top of that list. A DC staple – especially among the gay boys – Annie’s never fails to provide its diners exceptional food at reasonable prices. Breakfast or dinner, on your own or with a large group, Annie’s can satisfy your appetite and give you a convivial dining experience. Consider the two meals I enjoyed at Annie’s on my recent visit to DC. I breakfasted here on a very slow Friday morning, when only vacationers and retirees were out and about in Dupont Circle. I was promptly seated, then ordered Annie’s Special: scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, toast. Nothing out of the ordinary, yet the eggs were properly prepared, fluffy and medium scrambled, and the rest of the meal was a substantial, savory repast. If I could start every morning with one of Annie’s fortifying breakfasts I most certainly would. This evening I dined at Annie’s with my husband and three good friends. We occupied a booth in back and had a hard time deciding what to order, for Annie’s boasts a menu that could make an anorexic throw in the towel. I ordered the BBQ pulled pork sandwich with fries and coleslaw, a lip smackingly good summer meal that I washed down with a blueberry lemonade cocktail. I can’t recall the last time I ate a meal so quickly and with such gusto. The staff at Annie’s comport themselves with an amiable professionalism. They are aware of who their client base is and carry on an easy rapport with them. Located in the heart of Dupont Circle, Washington, DC’s historic gay enclave, the restaurant is welcome to everyone and any size party. Toddlers are welcome here as much as your Fox News-watching grandpa and your vegan aunt. Stop in at Annie’s.

I’ve been dining at Annie’s Paramount Steakhouse since 2001, and it’s my #1 spot for after hours dining, aka sobering up by eating satisfying, tasty, and good breakfast. I’ve never been disappointed with their breakfast selections. I’ve introduced a lot of my friends to this hidden gem, and they all keep returning … without me.

So I have been here twice once for brunch and another time for dinner. I really like this place. Wait staff caused the drop in stars but other than that cute. Staff: depends on who you get some can be flakey and rude but the other really good Ambience: I really like it. One side you have the patio type getaway and the other can feel like a upscale restaurant with a nice hotel bar. Food: pretty good. The first time I came I had the chicken burger, poppers and fried oysters. The fried oysters were so delicious. The poppers were very good as was the burger, but the reason I went back the second time was because the oysters were so good. Lol The second time I had the fried oysters and the crab cake. So I wasn’t feeling the sauce they make with the crab cake. It’s like a cucumber rumalaude. The I had my choice of two sides I choice tomatoes and broccoli. The cakes were filling however, not too much stuffing or too little meat. The dish just overall didn’t do it for me. In addition the oysters this time around were good but not like the first time. They were doughy and bland. I plan on going back, they have their version of chicken and waffles, I would love to try… so we shall see!

After arriving into D.C. around 7:30 pm, my wife and I caught a cab to our hotel, checked in, freshened up and tried t figure out where to go for dinner after we got settled. We did not plan anything because we were not sure what time we would get in, but there are plenty of choices in the area of where we were to walk to or take a short cab ride. Unfortunately, we picked the wrong one. We took a nice walk about 10 minutes away after choosing Annies, and looking at some of the reviews. First impression was really good, nice cozy bar and dining room, but more of a casual, comfortable ambiance. I was really looking forward to a nice glass of wine after unwinding and figured that a STEAKHOUSE would have some nice choices of red wines. When we were seated, we got the menu and wine/drink menu. I opened up the drink menu only to find that they had one wine choice per varietal. One Cab from Chili, one Merlot, etc. What restaurant gives you choices like that, especially a steak house? And the wines they chose were definitely not anything I really looked forward to ordering, at this point, I just wanted a glass of wine. The waiter was running around like a mouse and we he did not stop to really introduce himself and I really wanted my glass of wine and order dinner, so we had to track him down through someone else. He finally came over as if he had to get this order and move on quickly to catch up with his other tables, so we ordered the wine, water and dinner all at the same time. I felt like I had to tell the waiter to please bring my glass of wine right away since it was already 20 minutes since we had been sitting there, and I felt like he would forget because he was so busy. He brought the wine, the Cab from Chili and I tolerated it. We watched the waiter run, run, run around, and it literally annoyed me. He seemed always on the brink of losing it, and anytime you see that in a restaurant, it is less than relaxing. I ordered the grilled Pork Chop and my wife ordered Steak Frites. We were hungry so both were ok, nothing special, it was a grilled Pork Chop for goodness sake. Came with a dry baked potato as the side, which I ordered with sliced tomatoes on the side as well. The restaurant was busy, people coming in all the time, and seemed to be a lot of locals, so I suppose it is doing well, but this is nothing I was nearly impressed with. The prices were not«Steak House» prices so maybe we expected too much. At least we ate and walked out with a reasonable bill. We have reservations at some nice places the rest of our stay, that were recommended, and I have heard that Washington D.C. has some great places. It was late and we were hungry, so I will write this one off to experience.

I came here on a night they were fundraising for a good cause so they were pretty busy but we were still seated right away. Our waitress was beyond nice and made just the right amount of small talk. She also was knowledgeable on the menu and drink pairings. When our food was going to have a little bit of delay she came out and told us why and gave us some more bread to nosh on while we waited. Everything I ordered came cooked to my liking and I ate until I was happily full. The only thing I wish is that the plating of our food looked a little bit better. Everything was sort of thrown on there in piles and heaps. It really makes a meal complete for me when not only does it taste good but it looks almost too good to eat. I’m sure Chef Ramsay would agree, it needs to be as visually appealing as it is tasteful.

Whenever I’m in DC for work, one of the dinner nights is Annie’s. Almost always the medium rare Queen’s Cut prime rib is ordered. This week I walked in, got a table for one by the window, ordered the prime rib and a glass of wine. Everything came within 2 minutes! I barely had time to butter the delicious buns, but I was in a hurry anyway. This time the prime rib was just as tasty, but a bit more veiny. Every other time I’m been here it has been great, so maybe it was a tough cow. Also, the Yorkshire pudding was crunchy on the outside but a bit undercooked doughy on the inside. However, the fresh veggies of the day were delicious, and I used the vegetable juice for aus jus. Yum! Service by a very easy-on-the-eyes collegiate waiter was great and he stopped by several times to make sure everything was OK. The gayborhood is alive and well, with Annie’s as its stalwart and still filled with steady patrons.
