I feel like family in this place! Not only do they know their stuff, and yes it can get a little pricey(check out their ‘seed buyers club’, it helps), but as a 7th grade teacher who is also a long-time birder, I have been supported in my efforts to have my students get to know birds with seed donations for my classroom birdfeeders… and this has been going on for years! I am probably in the store a couple of times a month, and we always end up swapping bird and squirrel stories, or laughing over classroom adventures I share. I have found them friendly, curteous, knowledgeable, generous, and excellent when it comes to customer service. Last year I received a bird cam bought from them. It malfunctioned right from the start. They took it back, did what they could to fix it, and ultimately ordered me a new one… works great. I look forward to visiting WBU, snackng on either the free pastry and coffee offered to customers, or enjoying a few candies from the basket on the counter. My visits are always fun!

Birder’s Delight! I’m not a birder. yet, but I found plenty of great things here. One of my most treasured possessions is from here, a reasonably priced set of wind chimes that are tuned to play sci-fi sounds. Everyone who works here seems pretty helpful. If you hit it at the right time as I did, they may let you help feed the Koi in the immaculate pond located at the back of the store. The store is located in a plaza that someone I know has called; «White People’s Plaza» I guess because it also has a Panera, Trader Joe’s, Eastern Mountain Sports, etc. Worth a check-out next time you’re on Bald Hill Rd.

I’ve been going to this store for a couple years since I started feeding birds. It definitely has the best quality bird feeding supplies — seed, suet, feeders, etc. but it’s pricey. I went in there recently because they had a sign advertising«Seed Sale». I felt mislead because the sale was actually a discount if you buy 6 bags of seed and let them store it for you. There was no sale on single bags of seed at all. I did get a bag since I needed it but the ad was pretty misleading and it’s not the first time it happened(I made the same mistake last year). I’ll keep going back for the bird seed when I can afford it. The ladies that work there know their stuff but they aren’t that friendly.

Stopped in one day to ask about various options in foiling those damn squirrels! The lady working there had a ton of advice. At first it seemed like she was just pushing some new feeder they had in like she was told to get rid of the leftover stock from the holidays. Turns out after talking to her for 15 minutes she really knows her stuff! She had a lot of past experiences from other feeders and their evolution over time as the squirrels just keep getting smarter. She walked us through several options and various set ups people use to varying degrees. We came home to do some independent research and everything she said was spot on. the prices were slightly higher than online options but BUYLOCAL, right? Plus, she earned it with all of that advice and knowledge. They even do repairs on select feeders that are damaged. I was really impressed and now know this place is more than a seed store!
