Victoriaworks Massage Therapy

I bought a groupon deal for a massage from this place and gifted a friend. Friend called and spoke to someone who said she was busy at the moment and would call back to schedule an appt. She never called back, even after my friend called a few more times. I complained to groupon and was told someone from this business would call and that call never came. Finally received a voucher from groupon. Worst customer service ever. Why sell groupon deals if you’re not going to honor them?

I was really excited to get my 90-​minute session from this place. I like that the massage therapist spoke softly and deliberately. However, I really enjoy massages where I am left to my own thoughts so I can truly savor the relaxation. I liked the massage enough but I probably would still try others. And no, not because I am one of those serial discounted massage aficionados, but because I enjoy a more serene experience. Further, I doubt that I experienced the 90-​minute massage, all told. Sure, I arrived about 5 minutes late (my bad), but on top of filling out a form, I had to sit through what felt like nearly 10 minutes of conversation.

The massage was really great. She knows where to press and knead, which, from my experiences with various masseuses, is pretty hard to find. She also applies the right pressure.
That said, the star off is for:
1. giving me less than 50 minutes of massage when it was a 60 minute session — I arrived about 2 minutes before the appt at 2pm (I had unexpected traffic), filled out a front-​and-​back form, visited the bathroom, and undressed, after which the massage began. When it ended, the clock was showing 2:47pm. I was a Groupon customer, so maybe that’s why she only gave me about 45 minutes instead of full 60?
2. Not telling me she had a cough — perhaps a cold or flu — before I was already undressed and lying down. She was breathing a bit weird, but I didn’t realize she was sick until when third-​way into the massage when she coughed the phlegmy-​deep-​cough several times throughout the massage. That was yesterday: this morning my throat and lungs feel like something is coming on. I’m not saying I caught it from her, but it certainly makes me wonder. I do wish she informed me of her condition — whether it was a non-​contagious problem or if she really had the flu — so I could have made an informed choice about whether or not I still wanted the massage done that day.

Therapeutic massage with Patty was a huge part of my recovery from back/​neck injury recovery from a car accident last December. She is amazing… Thank you Patty!
