I listed it at 4 stars but actually feel that 3.5 would be more accurate(but that’s not an option so I rounded up). Frankly, I don’t get why the average score on this restaurant is as low as it is. They have a great selection of standards, fresh sushi, and hibachi for $ 12 or less. The one downside that I’ve run in to is that it can get VERY busy on weekend evenings.

Been here numerous times. Love the hibachi and salt and pepper shrimp. The sushi is good and the dessert has good variety even down to Hershey ice cream cups. Coffee ice cream is great here. We stay with the healthier options so I can’t comment on their other foods but there is pizza, wings, fried dishes, and lots of other choices. Overall haven’t had a bad experience here. Would recommend to try it for sure!

Never again. Not only was the food awful but the woman who ran my debit card gave herself a $ 10 tip. When I called to correct the issue she asked me «to wait a few days», which I did, and nothing was corrected. When I tried to sort it out with my bank it became a huge hassle where my debit card was frozen and wouldn’t be unfrozen for an indefinite amount of time, forcing me to cancel my claim against the buffet for overcharging me. The food was bland and mushy. The selection was mostly seafood and very little else. The service was garbage, with waitresses literally walking up to our tables and reaching across our plates to switch out soy sauces without even saying excuse me or anything. Don’t waste your time here. It isn’t worth the money it actually costs, or the money they’ll probably overcharge you.

Nice buffet with quite a range of foods, sushi, desserts and fruits. Price is average and worth the money. The chicken dishes were quite nice while the sides tasted just ok; didn’t try the sushi though as I am not a fan.

If you go to a restaurant and see a grown woman stick her bare hands into the crunchy noodles TWICE to put in her soup… RUNNNNNNNN! Run very far away. Eating feet away from people who are sucking on shrimp and licking their fingers then touching the buffet utensils I mean who would do that?!? it is just downright disgusting! Just the thought of it makes me sick. I have to say luckily the place went immediately to change the noodle bin and when we got up to leave without eating they didn’t make us pay. That was nice. The place wasn’t that bad it’s not their fault But seriously they couldn’t have expected us to eat there after witnessing this.

It’s okay for a Buffet. The price is great! It’s very affordable, especially if you go for lunch! I really enjoy how they have an assortment of food such as hibachi and sushi. The sushi isn’t top of the line, but it’s not bad. Great for a big group!

Can’t go wrong for $ 10 with the tip. All you can eat variety and always busy… hence freshness. I always make up a fresh Hibachi plate with hot’s and garlic then load up on the crab Rangoon and wings. They have a carved ham and prime rib with American sides as well. I do the sushi, dumplings and a fresh salad too. For desert I just stick to the ice cream. I go twice a month and will continue to do so.

In general, Chinese buffets nearly all have the same variety, the same greasy, too salty taste, if not the dry look. However, this one is slightly different in that the variety is more extensive in terms of salad, meats, vegetables, soup and dessert, PLUS a sushi station and more importantly, a hibachi station. What I like about the dessert station is they have a really good baked cheesecake, crème flan, among others. Not just ice cream and some dry cake. What I am not too thrilled about is the smell that stays on my hair and clothes afterwards. Trade off one gets for the hibachi station. You definitely get more bang for the buck. Their price is also about $ 1.00 to $ 2.00 less vs. the average buffet prices elsewhere within a 10-mile radius. Small wonder you usually see a crowd there on the weekends and never not busy on the weekdays, too. The place is not immaculately clean(how can you wipe off that lingering smell and the constant grease on the floor) but it is not a mess, either. If you are a fan of Chinese buffets, this may just be your best bet in Rhode Island.

I have been here 3 times, always due to the fact that 1) its close when I am shopping at Homegoods, 2) in the area, and 3) it’s a buffet. However, after this third time, I will not go back. They are always busy when I go, because it is so cheap for lunch during the week. I think it’s all you can eat for $ 8.99 plus tax pp. They are very efficient in getting your plates removed, and making sure your water is filled although there is very little interaction with the servers. But the main reason it’s always busy? There is A LOT of food. Sushi, hibachi, salad bar, including cold cooked shrimp, American Chinese, American, desserts, and many other things thrown in(like Italian sausage? Really?) Heck — EVERYTHING looked pretty darn good. Then you try the food. Mediocre at best. My biggest complaint is that it all tasted the same — Very bland and as it it had all been cooked or steamed together. Highlights? The crab rangoon were good, steamed/fried dumplings ok, fried chicken wing good, California roll only ok. I tried lots of things, but they all had no flavor or seasoning. Stuffed mushrooms tasted like imperial shrimp. All sushi out of 10 or so but 2 had cream cheese in it(yuck) and tasted like they had been made yesterday. Rice noodles looked good– no flavor even though had veggies in them. Beef and chicken with broccoli tasted the same. Prime rib(really? No way-) over cooked roast beef very tough. I didn’t try the french fries or fried plantains, or pizza or meatloaf but tried other american chinese dishes and again, took a bite and left the rest. So was I full? Yes, but not because I had eaten and enjoyed any one thong(other than the crab Rangoon — they were freshly made and not greasy), but that I had tried a bite of many things. People around me seemed to be fine with it all, but who knows. For me, I will go to another place where I can taste the difference between chicken and fish(and I have a good palate). I love buffets — just not this one, This one I don’t even really like very much at all.

Went here with a group of friends yesterday. –the chicken taste odd, and hard. –food does not get changed often –they offer a grill too cook fresh, rice is always hard –the deserts are all horrible! Very cheap –after 30 minutes from entry you will get the bill because you are starting to have them loose a profit. –waitresses act like robots! Very VERY rude! & if they don’t get a tip they like after they’re rude service you will get no replies to thank you. Just come and go –long story short this place is a machine in and out with cheap food. And expensive! Save your money and go somewhere else!

First time here. Last time here. This place seems to try hard to be average. Sadly, they fail miserably. Food is cold and tasteless. Except the cold food which is warm and tasteless. Hibachi chef throws stuff on grill, then on plate… no cutting or mixing of items. Some people say the sushi is great… people, have you ever eaten sushi. This is the over the top worst sushi I have ever seen. I say seen, not eaten because it was inedible. Dessert was marginal if you are 10 years old. Why two stars? Because it met my low expectations. Skip this place… your taste buds will thank me!

I actually created a Unilocal profile to write this review. We are hosting a German exchange student and wanted to take her to a hibachi place. Although the sign said buffet, we thought it would have more hibachi type options. A lot of people were coming into the restaurant, so we figured we would give it a try. The décor was… Well, let’s just say the soft blue neon glow gave it the air of a classy gentleman’s club. We were seated at a booth with a divider made of glass, so unlike a gentleman’s club, there was no privacy to enjoy the experience. The food was, like other reviews have stated, awful. I started with crab rangoons, chicken wings, and dumplings. Once I dipped each grease-covered delicacy in soy sauce, it was edible at best. Round two, let’s go for«American» fare… The potato skin was dry, the prime rib was well past it’s prime, but hooray for mashed potatoes! That’s the only thing I finished. Our daughter tried the sushi rolls, and spit one out into her one-ply napkin, stating the roll«tasted like PETCO.» I wish I was exaggerating, but I’m not. You could see through the ghostly napkin, just like the glass booth divider. And I don’t know if our daughter tried eating fish food before, but that was her comparison. We didn’t dare try the hibachi. Ok, dessert. You can’t screw that up, right? WRONG. I’ve never met an ambrosia I didn’t like until today. And the cream puff was neither creamy in the middle nor puffy. Stick with jello, or the little ice cream cups. Our poor German guest was in awe at the whole experience, and we all marveled at the amount of people in the place. People, please choose quality over quantity. I’d take McDonald’s any day over this place. ‘Murica.

Have been here many times. The food never disappoints. First time for lunch. We brought family visiting from out of town. They enjoyed it also. Great selection even for the pickiest of people. Great desert section also. The restaurant is clean. The food is always full and hot and when it runs low they fill it right away. They also have sushi and a hibachi with a nice selection of items they will cook for you.

I like all the choices, however the Chinese food itself was either over cooked, soaking in butter, or bland. The«American food» wasn’t bad Wait staff was slow. still waiting on my check, 10min now

The restaurant is very clean. The waitstaff is surprisingly good for a buffet and the food is fresh, the food treys full and its steaming hot. The only problem about the food is it’s terrible. Shockingly awful. I was of a mind that there was no such thing as bad Chinese food, certainly some is much better than others but this was a truly one of a kind experience in just awfulness that I must admit amused my girlfriend and I. The buffet isn’t expressive but for the ten bucks I highly recommend just going to your usual spot and getting a combination plate.

I tried this place ONCE and will never go back. I just thought I’d give it a try — did not go because they were recommended or anything of that nature. Here’s the story: there are hundreds of bins of food set out on tables. And there is one place where you can get food cooked to order — something along the lines of Mongolian BBQ only WAY less tasty! There is just too freaking much food to choose from and none of it is as tasty as the dish it «represents» would be in a normal place. One pays by the weight of the food. YUCK. It just gives me the creeps to think about ever going back. Nothing is seriously bad, or dirty or smelly or anything like that. I just think it’s an awful way to dine — felt like an Army mess hall.

My family goes out to Chinese buffet once a year, and before this place opened, we would try out a new restaurant each time. Now it’s a given that we eat here. They have a great selection of Chinese food, sushi, made to order grill, southern comfort food, and normal american food. They really do have food for everybody, which they cook well and serve for decent prices($ 12 on weekends). Even if you pile up a take-out box, it’s only ~$ 7.

Never again.. never! Sure you can eat all you want for minimal cost but in my mind, quality over quantity is the way to go. Everything I had was bland and many things that shouldn’t of had a mushy texture, did. On my way out I saw a staff member take some type of pastry that was on the counter where everyone’s dirty hands have been and put it back on the tray. If that wasn’t enough, as he was walking away he used his shoe to push food that was on the floor to the side. Because picking it up would be too much work?

A big boofay Boofays are becoming quite popular and the vast majority are these Asian American types of places. Most are pretty similar, lots of different types of pseudo Chinese food with some sushi and other things like French fries and perhaps fried chicken thrown in for good measure. If you expect personalized service and gourmet food at a boofay you are sadly mistaken. What you get is a bezillion different types of food and a plate. The rest is up to you. I like Hibachi Grill, it’s quick, clean, convenient and you get to choose from a whole heap of different food. No waiting around for a server, you just grab a plate and go at it. I have no idea what authentic or gourmet Asian food is but I suspect this isn’t it. But the food they do have always seems fresh and tasty. I like the different choices, you can really oink out or because of all the veggies available you can actually have a responsible and healthy meal here. Boofays are different, not a place to sit back and talk with friends over a glass of snooty wine and some fine food. These place are meant for a quick, huge, fast and cheap meal. And Hibachi Grill does that very well.
