Shields of Warren

Okay… I’d heard quite a bit about Shield’s, so I decided to check it out.
First off, their pizza tastes GREAT. But there are a few other things that knocked down their rating really quick for me.
They have two sizes of pizza: small and large. No middle ground here. This in itself doesn’t bother me… but a large has only 8 pieces, includes no toppings, and is $ 11. After adding toppings, our pizza was almost $ 20!
Why is this you ask? Toppings were $ 2. That’s right — $ 2! I could’ve purchased a damn stick of pepperoni and cut it myself for that price.
And we’re not talking $ 2 for a MOUND of topping. There was literally two slices of onion per slice of pizza. I’d be lucky to have more than two pepperonis per slice. Ugh. I need more meat!
So they gouge a bit if you’re at all like me and like four or more toppings on your pizza. Keep that in mind if you decide to come here.

The Shields at 12 & Mound opened about a year or so ago. i’d been to the one in Troy and really liked their pizza (ny place that has spinach and feta as possible pizza toppings is definitely okay with me!!!).
This location is right down the street from me. They have a patio area with full service which is a good time in the summer. The bar area can get a bit crowded but is worth it if your a smoker (dirty habit) like me.
They’re menu is full and diverse. Other than their pizza and salads they’ve got sandwiches, burgers, pastas. Something for just about everyone.
We’ve never had bad service when we’ve been there. the waitstaff is always friendly and attentive.
