Highly recommended! This is arguably the best middle eastern place in SEMI in my opinion. You have to try it. It only opened in August of 2015. I have only had the chicken shawarma from here twice, but both times it was wonderful. Chunks of white meat chicken with a smokey grilled flavor, with great garlic sauce, pickles and tomatoes. For $ 3.25, you get a very good sized sandwich. Also, dining in was easy, even for a small place, and excellent garlic sauce and bread are provided!

This is a follow up to my previous review on 4÷1÷2016. I had lunch again(4÷5÷2016) at Lapita Kabob after my initial positive experience. This time I dined in with three coworkers. One was satisfied, another said, «I’m in heaven…» because he was so happy to find a great middle east restaurant close to work, and the third coworker suggested we have lunch at Lapita on a weekly basis. We dined in because I needed a caffeine boost from free cola refills. Pita bread and garlic spread were placed on our table shortly after we sat down. The garlic spread was nearly perfect; I give it a 9 out of 10; it was not runny, bland or obviously diluted like I see at many other places. We shared a hommous, which was very good. My coworkers not only finished their sandwiches but also ordered carry out sandwiches for dinner. The waitress was considerate and suggested that the sandwiches be made with garlic spread and hommous on the side so the carry out sandwiches would not become wet or soggy. Another plus is that this place is currently not well known so seating and service were fast. I expect this to change when people working at the GM Tech Center and other local businesses find out about this place. I will definitely give Lapita Kabob another try. When I get a chance, I’ll attach a copy of their menu.

On 12 and Mound, near the chain restaurants(Chili’s, BDubs, Pei Wei, etc) there is a tiny strip mall a little off the vicinity of the main traffic hub. But don’t be deterred: La Pita Kabob is in this strip mall, and it’s amazing. I went to lunch with my dad and he said he had this place in mind after somehow finding it online. This is my dad, who can barely operate a smartphone or turn on antivirus on his laptop. I usually find every lunch spot we ever go to(along with breakfast and dinner spots), but he pulled a rabbit out of his hat here. This place is small, like a diner, and it’s quaint. It’s also damn delicious. This Mediterranean establishment has a great-sized menu, including numerous lunch items that are between $ 7.50 and $ 8 and include the meal(kabobs, chicken shwarma, lamb shwarma, sides of rice or fries, soups or salads). The portion sizes are godly. Honestly, I ordered the shwarma mix(half chicken, half lamb) with rice and a side fattoush. Yeah, the«side» was the size of an entire meal. Most«high end» places would charge $ 10 for that salad alone, I’m willing to bet. But it was probably the best fattoush I’ve had — better than Sahara in SCS. Perfect dressing, fresh ingredients. The shwarma meal was even bigger, with tons of chicken and lamb and rice(with white onions and tomatoes) that made me call for the to-go box. The Tahini sauce(kind of like Tzasiki sauce with gyros) was a good topper. Also, the pita and garlic(free!) was great as well. The service was great, with two ladies covering the 10 or so tables in the place. The bill was less than $ 20 for two people with an enormous amount of food. I can’t wait to go back. A hidden gem in every way.

Stopped by this place for lunch on my way home from the gym because of the huge banner outside. Turns out they opened two days ago! I decided to take advantage of their fantastic lunch special and get some takeout. The interior of this restaurant looks a bit dated, like a late 90s coney. But there are new TVs on wall and the kitchen is clean. Meets my standard. I got the chicken schwarma sandwich with a side house salad, because I believe that a schwarma sandwich is the baseline to judge all Mediterranean restaurants. It was the lunch special at $ 6.99! I thought the cashier made a mistake at first. The sandwich itself had a ton of chicken and featured tomatoes which I’ve never had in a schwarma and I actually enjoyed. A welcome addition to the pickles and garlic sauce. The house salad was marinated in their house dressing which was tangy and gave a great marinade to the salad. The lettuce was chopped a bit thin, but still fantastic. For $ 6.99, I’m not allowed to complain. FYI: They deliver for free on orders greater than $ 20 within 2 miles. Overall: A good start for a new restaurant in an area with not a ton of locally owned places. I will be back.
