Went there tonight for dinner and they’re CLOSED! Website is still up but the doors are closed… Bummer.

I wanted to hate Fat Belly’s, but I didn’t. In fact, it was quite the opposite. On my last trip back to Warren(March ’13), I met some friends for drinks at the«new» spot in town. It’s big, bright and clean. Bartenders were very outgoing, and the service I received from them was always exemplary. Table service was a bit disappointing, especially in the face of such great service at the bar. That was easily remedied by heading back to the bar. The food itself was typical pub food. Not elevated by any means, but slightly better than I expected. I’ll certainly be back in this summer for my next trip home.

I walked into Fat Belly’s expecting basic pub food, and that’s what I got. No surprises here. There has been extensive work done on the building since its Tuscan Tavern days. A huge bar is now in the middle of the room, surrounded by flat screen TVs. There are a few tables and booths around the bar, an area with some couches and easy chairs as a well as a room with a pool table and video games. It was more spacious than I thought it would be. It did take a while for the hostess to seat us, but our server was extremely attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We started with clam chowder, which wasn’t the best I’ve ever had, but tasty. We also had buff-a-que tenders, which also weren’t bad. The chicken bacon ranch pizza was a good size to split and tasty as well. The draft beer list was large and varied, which made my husband happy. While I don’t think this will be one of our regular spots, we will probably stop in occasionally.

Decent place for this area. Been here a few times, the burger and sweet potato fries are usually solid. Pretty big portions, but a little pricey for standard American food. Beer is way better than the food. Large selections. The atmosphere is a little funky — the music is usually a little too loud and lights a little too low for a small pub in Rhode Island.

Food is pretty good. Only have about 12 – 15 beers on tap, and they don’t rotate them enough. Not enough craft beer

I waited to come to Fat Belly’s in Warren until the hype of a new restaurant in town died down a bit. We went on Sunday afternoon and were one of three couples in the place. No biggy, if it wasn’t for the fact the service lacked tremendously. I personally won’t deduct for bad service unless it’s habitual, or in this case, condoned. The patrons were easily outnumbered by wait staff 3 – 1. The entire staff at some point, sat at the bar and chatted with the bar tenders. No problem, if took care of your guests first. Our order was taken and the girl was pleasant enough, but that’s where it stopped. When the meal came out, we needed a few items. Our waitress was long gone. never saw her again until we were done with the meal. DON’T ask me «Can I get you anything else?» of «How’s your meal?» when I’m already finished and you never came to check up on us. To top it off, there were several wait staff at the bar, I’m assuming someone had to be the manager or in charge. They could clearly see we needed service but no one ever came over or asked if we needed anything. Where was our waitress? Outside smoking. We had to ask someone to get our check so we could leave. Done with the service rant. The Good– The food was pretty good. We had two hamburgers and my daughter had a wrap. The burgers were pretty good. Was it worth 40.00 for the three? Maybe. If the service was up to par. My last gripe here is the parking lot. My theory about restaurants failing so often at this location is the ability to easily to enter and leave the lot; you just can’t. This is Rhode Island. You’re lucky if you find one person nice enough to let you pull out northbound on Metacom Ave, never mind four if you need to traverse all the lanes to head southbound. There is a makeshift entrance that patrons made driving over the grass to exit on the street adjacent to McDonald’s where there is a traffic light. Use it. The skinny-The burgers were good-nothing infused, just toppings on meat and my daughter really enjoyed her avocado wrap. Overall: Food=3.5 Service=1 I’ll be generous and round up to a 3

Good and big bar, but bad management. we asked to change of the T. V but they said they can put it up unless if Celtics or Burn are playing! Unacceptable rules. we were watching the NBA final game though. We decided not to go there anymore, every and we have not gone there for almost 2 months.

This pub is solid if you want a bar that is actually spacious and hopping on the East Bay. It reminds me of Lucky’s in East Providence, but with a younger crowd and much better music on the weekends. It closes nice and late. Order the flat bread pizzas or other pub food. This isn’t really a salad and wrap place no matter what is on the menu — think fat and bellies. And stay away from the aritichoke dip — it’s the worst I’ve ever had — more like a wad of melted cheese. Go for nachos, fish & chips, pizza, truffle fries, etc. And other than an awesome selection of beers and fish & chips on the menu, if you’re looking for more of an Irish pub, go to Doherty’s in Pawtucket(awesome) or even Aidens. Remind yourself that this is a chain — in WARREN — and enjoy the loudness, the TVs everywhere, the sports, the music, the young, cute wait staff, etc. If you don’t want loudness or music or hipness, go on the web or call ahead to find out whether there will be music and/or a party that night. Seriously, let’s not be too hard on this place since it just opened and replaced a gross restaurant. There are precious few pubs on the East Bay that are not«old people bars» where alcoholic trolls drool over the occasional RW or CCRI student who wanders into them, hoping for a meager slice of nightlife past 10pm. I mean, it could also be that other place where 21year olds chug as many scorpion bowls or tall boys of bud ice as quickly as possible before hurling or getting thrown out. Let’s embrace the middle ground.

My mom and I went here for lunch on our way to the mall back in October when it was fairly new. I was disappointed by the limited menu(some items are only available at other Fat Belly’s locations as well). My mom and I each ordered a sandwich and split them. I believe it was a reuben and some kind of chicken sandwich. Neither of them were very good. I think I had half a sandwich total at the most. Service was slow. I was not impressed.

Great beer selection and that’s about it. Didn’t like the food. Very oily, calamari. Very noisy atmosphere and service took forever. I was never asked if I wanted a refill on my beer, so I paid & left. Great place if you are in your early — mid 20’s.

Came in for a night of drinks and appetizers with friends. Food was ok, but very overpriced. Biggest disappointment was that around 10 or 11, a DJ came in and started BLASTING music. Even though we were seated behind his speakers, we had to scream to one another across the table. Overall, we will likely NOT be back. Service was pretty good, but otherwise, a disappointing evening.

My daughter and I went in on a recent Saturday evening for a quick sandwich and beer but mostly to check out the place. We almost decided to go elsewhere given the parking lot was full with cars slowly milling around looking for a place to park. At the last minute we decided park next door in a vacant convenience store lot. We were greeted at the door and promptly shown to a high top near the huge square bar. The bar was lined with patrons eating drinking and viewing sports on the many flat screens surrounding the bar. I liked the place already! Our waitress came over and took our drink orders. I had a Guinness and when it arrived it had«cooked» to perfection with it’s creamy delicious head topping it off. I always order fish and chips so fish and chips it was and they were delicious. My daughter had a Ruben with fries that were finished with truffle oil. Definitely a fantastic addition to an already perfect food… the French fry. Next time I’ll go for the truffle French fry fish and chip option. The Guinness is a lot less expensive than my other favorite Irish pub in Bristol. It’s more of a sports pub than an Irish pub. As long as good food and beer are what you’re after rather than a quaint pub like atmosphere you won’t be disappointed.

Went for lunch, panini was soggy and I was comfortable throwing ½ my sandwich away. There seemed to be plenty of servers working, but they were inattentive. I won’t be back for lunch, but the cider suggestion was good.

The atmosphere in here is pretty relaxed… though it was a bit rowdy being a Sunday and there was a football game on. The bar is centrally located so there is no table out of earshot of the rowdy sports fans. The food was also decent, we ordered the BBQ nachos to start an they were great. I had the chicken florentine sandwich which was good however I would have liked a little bit less cheese and my wife had a grilled chicken panini which she liked also. All in all we were satisfied with the food but it was nothing to write home about. The service was also average, nothing to rave about. End Result… I would come back again

This place is THEPLACE to be if you enjoy pub food, yummy cocktails, and football on a huge screen. When I say HUGE screen, I’m not even joking. This place is also equipped with a game room and more than enough plasma screens located throughout the place. Basically when football(or any big sporting event) is on TV, you can’t escape it at Fat Belly’s. The staff is super friendly, and give you their honest opinions on what they recommend for food or drinks. The bartenders all know how to mix up a great drink as well. It’s always super busy here so expect to wait to be seated, more or less on the weekends in particular. All in all it’s great!

Big building that had been a place where restaurants went to die, but these guys might change that. It’s very chain feeling, and the parking lot was loaded like your typical chili’s or Tgif’s. The menu is very small, but the prices won’t break you. Party of 8, we all ordered burgers, we all liked them. Cold beer, cheap eats and big TV’s dominate. That and 500 loud other patrons. If you don’t mind the parking hassle or the noise of a crowd, you’ll enjoy it for what it is. If you want a varied menu and a place to chat with a date, try someplace smaller. I’d go back with a bunch of guys to watch a game, but i’d pass on going thinking the food was the big deal here… it’s more about the social vibe… and sometimes that’s all you need.

I went for my birthday lunch and few days ago and I was very impressed. When arriving at the Metacom location I was not sure what to expect. Someone in my party actually thought I should go in first to make sure it looked«ok». Caution aside we head in. Wow…what an entryway. Bold, big, clean yet cozy. We were greated right away, brought to a table and given menus. So far so good. Our server came over. Friendly, smiling, she seemed genuinely happy to be there. We ordered drinks(Guiness for me which was poured perfectly!) Appetizers– Wings BIG and Meaty, although in my opinion they could be crispier. Next time I will request CRISPY!!! Chicken nachos= Heaven on a plate! really good apps! Our sandwhiches come, Rueben, hot pastrami and the steak sandwhich. All were very good. It was nice to have so many options for sides not just fries. Server was attentive throughout the meal. Food was delivered correctly and hot, drinks were replenished when needed. I know it sounds so simple but as anyone in this area knows, good help is hard to find. So is a restaurant that hits high marks on atmosphere, food, drink and service. Aidens will be feeling the effect of this place very soon if not already… I know where I would rather go!!!

I’ve been there 3 times in the past 2 weeks, and still have not found any«Irish» pub food. The food is good, but nothing to rave about. Twice I sat at the bar and had good service, the other time was at a table with my elderly parents. The waitress was more concerned about making evening plans with the busboy than giving us good service. We waited for 10 minutes after asking for the check, as we watched her chatting up the busboy… Good place for a quick beer and sandwich, or watching a game with some friends, but not a place to dine…

They are an «Irish» pub? That is what they claim. Blackened Chicken is not an Irish thing and most of the dishes have some form of blackened chicken. No and I mean NO Irish food on the menu. It is loud and the floors are very slippery! I would never tell anyone to go here! This should be called a sports pub not an Irish pub.

Fat Belly’s in Warren is a really great place that’s sorely needed in this area. My friend and I went for a couple of Guinness’s, we ended up ordering the Chicken Nachos and some sweet chili wings. Both appetizers were really good. The service at the bar was fantastic and the décor is quintessential upscale pub type décor. I will definitely be back with friends.
