Great store with a little bit of everything from clothing, scrubs, sturdy denim, bulk candy, home repair needs, toys, pet food, lottery tickets to custom cut blinds. Closes a bit early but a great neighborhood variety store.

This store has so many things that you just can’t find anymore. The manager is the owner, so he is extra helpful. The quality of most things is better than the chain stores and the prices are reasonable. They have very high quality pet supplies and food also. One thing in particular, they have very good quality area rugs, runners and floor mats at reasonable prices. I thought at first they were a bit high, then I compared to other chain stores, Bur-Lers is better quality for less.

I love this store! When we have friends over that are not from this area, I like to take them here. There is a bit of everything in those old fashioned aisles. The store reminds me of the old D &C store that used to be in Rochester when I was a kid. The people are really nice too. Heck, one time they had Hanes sweatshirts and sweatpants for five bucks! Where the heck are you going to find that? That wasn’t that long ago either. Huge parking lot too for easy access.

Surprise of the day! We were visiting a friend, and mentioned that we needed a new shower curtain liner, She told us of this place, so we stopped and went in. Whoa! What a time warp. A bizarre collection of needful things, kitschy and fun. Candy aisles, Levi Jeans(oddly all the same style and a ridiculous amount of them), a bevy of shower curtain liners, spices, whiskey barrel fountains, millions of miles of yarn, toys, and the nicest employees. Totally a must see!!!

Burlers is an awesome store if you dont want to drive all the way to a superstore. I stop here lots for last minute birthday gifts. I only wish the owners were nicer. They seem awfully bougie.

Bur-Lers is truly a unique store which I am glad to support with both my frequent business and a favorable review. When I took up canning last year, I knew I could find canning supplies there. Also great supply of craft materials, sewing, toys, housewares, office supplies, basic clothing and hats, candy and an ice cream freezer. My kids love to go here. I love not having to drive all the way to Meijer for something they don’t have at the ACO hardware(which is right next door to Bur-Lers) I wish I could remember the story behind the name of the store. I asked the owner once and he told me it is a combination of the last names of two army buddies who decided if they made it home they would open a variety store together. Just can’t remember the names. Anyway, some 50+ years later it’s still going. Bravo!

Bur-Lers brings one certain memory to those who grew up in the neighborhood… penny candy. We all remember rummaging through the plastic bins for fruit flavored tootsie rolls and pixie sticks and then dropping one hundred pennies on the counter and having a great day of sugar buzz. Anytime there is that odd thing that someone can’t find, you’ll usually hear someone say«Did you try Bur-Lers?» this is a true Variety Store, they don’t specialize in anything, it’s a true to form general store, the last one I would go so far to say. Bur-Lers is still around, and that’s a good thing. It’s a constant reminder of the joys of having small local shops. The candy may not be a penny anymore(it’s two cents) but I’ll still take my pennies up there, and hope the next generation of kids will as well.

Step into the wayback machine. Back to the 50’s. A real dime store still in business. From selling jeans and underwear to oil-cloth to old-fashion candy. Heck they even have a toy aisle and a candy aisle. A gem hidden in Warren at Ryan and 9 mile. This is what Familty Dollar wants to be. Levis for $ 20 yes $ 20
