truly cool spot, i ride my enduro motorcycle there. the tower is now off limits, so says the ranger that hassled me. i always see wildlife there. ive seen deer a plenty. ive seen bobcats twice, and have also seen a mountain lion there from about 50 yards away as he paced me. good thing the bone head ranger showed up to scare off the wildlife and check my ID.

Views off this 4×4 trail were phenomenal. At several points you are literally at the edge of a mountain and a long drop awaits if you mess up but that only makes the adremaline pump even harder. Along the way you get to climb on an abandoned US Forest Service tower and get a great view of the area surrounding Palomar Mountain(mainly Valley Center and Temecula). There are also mining ruins. Portions of the route are paved and there are several hiking trails. The majority of the route is not paved however, so high clearance 4x4s are advised. Spectacular views of Lake Henshaw and crisp, clear, cool mountain air await those who make the trek. Road may be closed during or after a rain.
