Second time there and both times food was excellent. Atmosphere is great and we enjoyed music played table to table. First time we sat outside which was nice too. This time the waiter asked the six of us if we would leave once we were done eating as people were waiting. This was not handled too well. We couldn’t see people waiting even when we left which was weird. But the food was excellent and prices were moderate and we would still go back.

So the third time is not a charm… I found out that they use 1 tiny avocado for their guacamole and quite a bit of salt. It was awful! Then they screw up my meal and I wind up getting my food long after everyone else. All on a Saturday at lunch time with 4 other people in the entire restaurant. This will no longer be my go to place for Mexican food. It’s sad because I really thought that this place was good.

I came here on a Tuesday night with coworkers for the $ 3 margarita specials and they were delicious! We ended up getting some food too and it was delicious! Margaritas café never fails me. I’ve been a fan of the East Meadow location since it first opened and now I’m loving this Wantagh location because it’s bigger and definitely not as crowded as the East Meadow one. I will definitely be coming back to this one.

It seems to have changed a lot. Go there and have a great time. The staff is great, must have been a new staff, or my mistake. Very nice spot.

I had a really good Monday afternoon meal with my girlfriend at 3pm. First, the salsa playlist they had was on point. I really enjoyed it. They played all the classics. Second, the food was good. Nothing crazy. I had the guacamole and chips as the app. I had the steak and shrimp and my gf had two chicken tacos. I asked for the steak medium well and it was well done. Thankfully I don’t really care that much. We were outside and the weather was finally good. It was in the high 70’s, sunny, breezy. Perfect. It was a great date. The service was good. The server and a lady helping him were helpful and nice. I would come back.

The food was awesome! Margarita skillet was awesome!!! And we had watermelon margaritas!!! The price wasn’t outrageous either! Definetly a great spot for birthdays and fun occasions. You must make a reservation if you don’t want to wait as long. The mariachi band song to father for his birthday and sang a few songs for us! Great experience and great food.

I really like this place. The drinks and the food are delicious. I came on a Friday around 6:30 pm and I was seated right away, but there were definitely a lot of people in there. My only complaint would be the parking, we had to wait a while to find one. It was definitely worth it though. I had one of the best enchiladas i’ve ever eaten. My husband also really liked his ropa vieja

Excellent food and great Margaritas. The parking is a pain, plus get there before 6pm or you will have to wait a long time. Live music and excellent service makes up for the wait.

I’ve been going to Margarita’s Café since 2005. I went to Margarita’s Café Wantagh location for my birthday. I ordered the Paella — #32 on the menu under Seafood Entrees(for $ 26.95) When the food came out, I noticed there was no chorizo — so I waved to the manager and asked told him that there was no chorizo on my entrée. He said«it doesn’t come with chorizo.» I asked him if he was sure. He didn’t look at the menu — he said that he could order me chorizo, but no it doesn’t come with any. I said no thank you because I didn’t want to pay for something I knew was included in my meal — and if I was wrong I wasn’t looking to «get» something. So I finished my meal and pulled out my phone and looked up the menu at — and there it was… Paella en Casuela Lobster, shrimp, chorizo, scallops, clam and mussels. Served w/rice and saffron guajillo sofrito So when the waiter came over to clear the table, I showed him my phone, told him what happened with the manager and right away the waiter pulled out a menu and said«yes, I’m sorry — you’re right — it does come with chorizo, I’ll bring you some right away.» On my way out, I stopped by the manager’s station and told him I thought the waiter was was disappointed in how he handled the situation. I felt that as a manager he should KNOW the menu in his restaurant, but more importantly he should have LOOKED at the menu when a customer has a question or makes a request. The manger said he and the staff confuse the paella dish with another dish and he was thinking of the other dish. Then my dinner guest mentioned to the manager that they requested a dessert with a candle be brought to the table, and it never was. The manager replied that sometimes things get busy and there aren’t enough waiters. My dinner guest responded that there were enough waiters to go to another table and sing Happy Birthday, and at the very least, a dessert with a candle should have been brought out. The manager had no response, at which time I told him«It just sounds like A LOTOFEXCUSES — and I won’t be frequenting anymore.» Margarita’s Café Wantagh you missed the opportunity to make a loyal patron happy — and try to win back a customer that had a negative experience in your restaurant. When everyone asks where I went for my birthday dinner and how it was — this is my story… when the story could have(and SHOULD have been) that the manager made things right — and I can’t wait to go back.

I came here 2⁄18 for my brothers birthday. It was Wednesday so the beers and margaritas were $ 3. The food was good and the servers very attentive. Not a big fan of the empanadas, but I realized this is like a upscale Mexican place. Not like extra fancy but their food isn’t corner store quality either. Over all everything was good will definitely return.

Excellent service every time. Always fast and delicious. All the Margarita’s are a little different, but each one has the same great food. I refer to this Margarita’s as Club Margarita’s. The one in Hicksville is more family friendly and the one in East Meadow is more like a bar.

I’ve had one good experience here, but my experience last week was absolutely awful! I went here with a group of 9 last week and we put in our names at 7:00 and were told 40 minute wait. At 8:00 we were told that our table was paying and we should be seated within 5 minutes. At 8:30 we still were not seated! By 8:45 we decided to just order appetizers at the bar and call it a night because we had already spent TOO much money at the bar. I felt bad for the bartender because she was working alone, but she made frozen margaritas that she tasted, made a face at and then served to us. The regular margaritas were good. When the host finally did tell us our table was ready and we explained that we didn’t have enough time to sit down for dinner now, he didn’t seem concerned or sorry at all. So rude. My group won’t be returning. Sad, because they have good deals on margs on Tuesday night, but not worth the terrible service.

Best Mexican food on LI. Mole poblano is great! Authentic food all around and the atmosphere is incredible! Waiters are very kind. Make sure to get here early or call ahead to check for availability. Can get crowded especially on the weekend.

First of all, very good margaritas. Tuesdays I believe is 2 or 3 dollar margaritas. I also had a frozen margarita which was great. To have something in my stomach while I was drinking, I ordered the chicken taquitos. Other dishes looked great but mine wasn’t very good, and a little bland. This place is decorated very nicely in a dias de los muertos theme, however. I suggest you order something else besides the taquitos, maybe that just wasn’t my taste.

Drinks are quite strong. Servers were nice. A little of a language barrier. I highly recommend the chimichanga and a margarita of course. A nice addition to our town. I live down the block so I will come again.

I have to say, this place was great. My friend took me here, after recommending the food, and I have to say it was great. Huge margarita menu(obviously) that are delicious and definitely not weak. The menu has tons of variety, huge portions, and everything is delicious. You get free chips and salsa just for dining in and they have live music. Parking lot is tiny and there isn’t tons of seating inside, but the service was good and again, everything was so delicious. You definitely must try it.

It was a busy night. Party of two let the manager know that we want to be seated outside. –Long wait– We got seated, and they served free chips right away. –Another long wait– No one is taking the order. Almost finished chips & got frustrated. Called another Mexican restaurant nearby, they say party of two can be served right away. We got up to leave. Waiter comes running and takes order. –more wait– Food got served. Guacamole dude has a tip jar. We tipped him. But we remembered not to double tip when the bill came, so we tipped for total without the guacamole. Guacamole cart looked dirty although food doesn’t touch the cart. Food was mediocre. I think I arrived there at 7:30pm and by the time we finished eating it was 9pm.

We’re fans! My wife and I are always on the lookout for a new Mexican restaurant, and were looking forward to trying this recently opened gem. It may not look special from the outside — located in a non-descript strip mall — but you’ll find special food inside! First, the«special» margarita’s were delicious! Patron, Grand Marnier and fresh fruit. A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. We saw a number of things we wanted to try — and will have to go back soon to get to the rest of them — but started with outstanding empanadas with shrinp, chicken and cheese. Yum! Dinner was a chicken mole… very tasty, and a combo plate(so we could try some basics) of a quesidilla, chimichunga and tamale. Everything was fresh and very good! Service was teriffic. If I could point out one negative… it would be that the dining room — a smaller, long area — was quite loud. Of course, it could have been from everyone shouting about their food and drink! We’ll be back. Soon.
