They have the BEST steak burrito. Very tasty and filled with tender, perfectly cooked steak

I have mixed feelings about Burrito Mariachi. They’re located next to Snaps, and I’ve always wanted to check it out, so I got takeout here yesterday. Everything is cheap, which I love since I’m living on a student ramen-noodles budget while I pursue my Masters. Their food, however, was slightly disappointing. Their«grande» quesadilla was pretty tiny, and cut into 4 pieces and placed on top of each other. This usually results in the oil from the pieces on top seeping in the pieces on the bottom, making them soggy and gross. Their guac is seriously not my favorite, although I do appreciate free tortilla chips(those were great). I got my bf the chicken tacos and he said they were just alright. I’m willing to come back and try other items. They don’t hold a candle to my favorite place in Massapequa from what I’ve tried so far, but I’m a big believer in second chances. At least it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg for a rather uninspired lunch.

Definitely do not opt for delivery. Placed an order online through their website. Took 50 minutes for nachos and a quesadilla. Upon arrival the nachos were cold and soggy as if they had been sitting in the drivers car for the hour that it took to be delivered. Keep in mind I’m less than a mile from their location.

I got the shrimp burrito grande($ 7.50), which had cheese, beans, rice, guacamole, sour cream, lettuce, and tomato. It was comparable in size to a Chipotle burrito and priced lower than Chipotle. The shrimp was a bit dry but the burrito was good overall. I also got the Mexican pizza with ground beef($ 5.50), which is 2 flour tortillas layered with beans, cheese, tomato, sour cream, and pico de gallo. It would’ve benefitted from a hard shell in the middle to give it some structure, especially for a takeout order, and maybe would’ve prevented all the ingredients from melting together into one chewy concoction. I may give Burrito Mariachi another try, not because I was impressed with the food, but because it is close by and I believe most places deserve a second chance.

I was pleasantly surprised. Decent Mexican, good pricing & no msg, lard or preservatives. Cool! We got the«big enchilada» with cheddar & green sauce. For $ 5.99 it was a great deal served with rice, beans, guacamole sour cream, lettuce & tomato. Just the right spiciness. Not overpowering. The rice with Tex-mex chili was really good. Loved it. Hard steak taco was good as well. We ordered side of guac & it was delicious. Ill definitely be returning

Found this place by accident… All I can say is AMAZING! When we first walked in it looked like a take out Chinese restaurant. My first instinct was to leave. I was looking for a burrito not chicken and broccoli! I’m so so so happy I stayed! I got what’s called«burrito in a bowl» and it was TODIEFOR!!! It was basically a burrito in a bowl instead of wrapped in a tortilla. My boyfriend had a grande burrito which he said was so good and huge. We also shared a small quesadilla which was tasty too. It’s more of a take out place although they have 2 or 3 tables to sit at. The one problem now is I am addicted, cannot get enough. I recommend if you like Tex mex definitely try this one

This place makes me laugh upon entering only because it’s not what one would expect. Food is great though, the employees are funny, always busy and always hustling with the high volume of orders that they handle at any given moment. They deliver also. We love getting take out from here !

Ive passed a million times and decided to stop.. . Saw the menu here on Unilocal.Walked in … And it’s bizarre in a good way … It’s a Chinese restaurant layout … Even the menu style but the food is entirely Tex-Mex… And it’s good !!! Tried the chicken /steak and yes they were excellent. Also. The price is great and portions are very good. Very surprised. And they even deliver.

After Unilocal made a mistake and had my review post to this restaurant instead of the one I was reviewing ONEMAIN in babylon– I was pleasantly contacted by someone from this restaurant and I figured it must be a sign so I will go check out the food– all I can say is WOW– GREATEXPERIENCE, wonderful FOOD and I will definitely be back!

This is a Tex-Mex restaurant using the layout of a Chinese restaurant. Everything is exactly like a chinese food restaurant except for the menu items. It’s Wantagh’s finest example of the cultural melting pot America has become! The food is good. I’ve had the enchillada which is on par with most enchiladas that I’ve had a more typical Tex-Mex or traditional Mexican restaurants. Some of the best points about Burrito Mariachi is that the service is fast, the prices are reasonable, and the portions are huge. Your stomach and your pockets will leave full!

Probably the worst Mexican food around. Rubbery tortillas, bland meats and beans. If you’ve ever had good Mexican, don’t bother with this place. Perfect for middle class, white bread neighborhood that doesn’t know better.

Update: went here a second time. Same order. Food was less than the stellar and not nearly as good as first trip. Knocking off a star. Initial review: Solid find. Generous portions, not overly expensive. Nice little touches, such as providing sauces instead of having to put them together yourself, chimigangas for 8 bucks come with rice, beans and guac. Will be my go to place. Significantly better them taco Joes and they provide a more expansive menu compared to green cactus.

ATTN: review based on ONETIMEVISIT, ONEITEMORDERED. FISHTACOS. fish TACOS. what I got was fried fish fillets in a tortilla with tartar sauce. TARTAR? yuck !! where’s the chipotle slaw? the Mexican flair? the spice? the veg? I had asked at ordering if it was spicy — the server said, no, not at all. I asked if maybe they can make it spicy, she said, sure. I’ll put hot sauce on side. never happened. no sauce, no chips, no napkin, no nothing. fried fish fillet, wrapped in tortilla, wrapped in foil. I don’t think I could bring myself to go back.

For what it is, A reasonably priced fresh Mexican take-out joint, this place rocks! Inside it feels like a Chinese food takeout, Limited seating, line cooks making fresh flour tacos, open grill, and packing station. But this place is about the food. Fresh ingredients Mexican-style. My husband and I love this as an fresh ingredient alternative to Taco Bell, but sadly my teenager still prefers TB. The by the pound fajitas easily serve dinner for four at under $ 20. The burritos are huge, a full meal in itself. The fresh guacamole is always good. The fresh flour tortillas can be simple with protein, or spruced up with cheese tomato and lettuce. We keep trying stuff here and we’ve never had a bad meal. Perfect for weekday take out. Especially when you’re trying to train your kids away from overprocessed foods.

Depressing food. Chinese food wrapped in a tortilla, it’s one of my least favorite LI trends. I found everything I ate to be pretty muddled and blandish. Most of the food basically tastes of salt. It’s cheap and there are a lot of options, I’ll give it that. Probably ok drunk. But sober, I’ll pass. When the menu says«NOMSG» it’s gotta be Chinese Food.

I can’t believe I live about 5 minutes away from this place and haven’t eaten here until recently. What looks like an old Chinese food place, is really a hidden world of cheaply priced tacos, quesadillas, burritos and everything in between. Where on earth can you get a $ 2 steak taco nowadays?(TBell is not an answer, ha.) And you may think that with cheap prices comes cheap quality. But I beg to differ! This small spot produces delicious bites with quality ingredients. Their steak and chicken soft tacos were just the right pick-me-up I needed throughout my day. The meat was well-seasoned and overall great in taste. And they come with two salsas… green and red. It could have been a bit hotter but that’s just me. Overall I think my total waiting time was about 5 minutes. Super speedy and the owners were incredibly friendly. You can order online as well as there’s free delivery. Like someone previously said, this is a no frills kind of place. I’ll definitely be back to try some more of the menu items!

i was there a few days ago and just remembered to post a review. The parking is horrendous, good luck with that. i parked in the back and it was a TIGHT squeeze, walked around front and checked out the menu in the window. I decided on 1 hard taco and 1 soft taco both with ground beef. I also ordered FF but they were out so i got chips and salsa instead. The beef was um different. I dont know what it was to be exact but i didn’t like it at all. It was more like chili or something akin to that. I wound up throwing out the tacos and just ate the chips and salsa which were ok but after my boss kept raving about this place i guess i picked the wrong things. I would def go back and try the fajitas or burrito. Meh i just ordered wrong. It’s cheap and the woman behind the counter was very nice. But def will never get those«ground» whatever tacos again.

I am not a fan. I ordered some takeout last night because this place had fairly decent reviews and I was quite disappointed. For starters I ordered 3 beef tacos and I grilled chicken hard tacos. By the time i git home the beef tacos hard shell was mush, the chicken taco shell was still hard, but the flavors were just okay. I prefer Taco Bell. I also ordered the cheese enchilada which came in a platte with rice, beans, tomatoes, guacamole and sour cream. I ate everything but the enchiladas. They were just a pile mush with a ton of rubbery cheese, not the enchiladas I was hoping for. On the side we had rice and beans, which were decent and guacamole, which was okay. The tortilla chips were crisp and fresh, they were the best thing I had from this place. Sorry to say I will not be returning.

Hidden gem. I really love this place. New owners are great. It was a lovely surprise that they were open on a Sunday! Prices are reasonable, especially for the portions you receive. Yesterday my family and I ordered an abundance of food. I had enough for 2 full meals on my own. Everyone had leftovers! I ordered a shrimp and jack cheese quesadilla. I would probably skip this next time. The shrimp were super over cooked. But, they were flavorful none-the-less. I also ordered the nachos. They were the best I have ever had, by far. Their black beans are incredible, and I don’t even like black beans. Today I got to eat my leftover tacos. One steak and one chicken. Both delicious. The steak was my favorite. Tender and super flavorful. Can’t wait to take out from here again.
