The Village Tap

Burgers were very good and fries as well. The day we tried this restaurant– burgers were buy one get one free.

It’s april & raining and cold… decided to go out for a fish fry. Not homemade but nice & hot. Nice friendly folks.

This is an old school bar with a good beer selection and very good food.

I’m giving this place 4 stars, and almost debated about giving it five, but there were just a couple of things that prevented me from giving that rating. When we walked in, there wasn’t anyone to greet us. I surmised immediately that it was the type of place where the bartender does it all. That did turn out to be the case, but it was no big deal since we were fine waiting the five or so minutes that it took. When we were greeted, the bartender was friendly, took our drink order and told us about the two for one burger deal. While she was making our drinks, I saw some people at the ATM machine and quickly realized that they don’t take credit cards. It would have been nice if this were on their Facebook page, or if there was a sing posted stating that. This was the most annoying point of the evening. I ended up having to go out and get cash. I’m just used to most places taking a debit/​credit cards these days, and would have appreciated reading «cash only» on their Facebook page. The food and drinks, however, saved the evening. The drinks were a good pour and the burgers, obviously hand-​pattied ½ pounders, were excellent. As far as atmosphere is concerned, this is a bar; nothing fancy. They do have a small (2 table) outside area for dining which is very nicely landscaped and we enjoyed eating out there. We will certainly be back. Taco Tuesday is what we will
try next.

Chris’s Village Tap is the Cheers Bar of Lyons. Friendly staff, great food and I mean great food. You always get a cookie or mini muffin with all your meals so cute. The pizza is the best and 2 for 1 burger night on Thursday is to die for. Taco Tuesday is getting to be world famous. You don’t leave hungry that is for sure and for $ 2.00 yet.
and now they have Stella on tap with the glass yes!
If haven’t try them out DO outdoor seating. A great place right off the White River trail during or after your bike ride.
