Ten Ren’s Tea Time

I ordered 2 drinks to go. when I come back to home, it is missing egg pudding in one drink. Before I just called and let the shop know. Turns out the manager handled the issue well. Good customer service.

I love this place! Each drink I try is a different experience and the staff works pretty fast forgot how many customers walk in and out. They are also very attentive and their job is not easy from what I see. But they do a great job in making sure the customers are all checked out!

One of the best tea/​boba spots in town! Doesn’t matter if you’re feeling some milk tea or fruit tea, they got you covered. The drinks are a bit on the sweet side tho so be sure to ask for ¼ or ½ sugar!

Love their boba here. And even if they are busy, they always still take the time to open the door for me when they see I use a walker — shows they value customer service.
Boba is always nice and soft, and the teas are never too sweet. Their version of lemon pepper chicken is also exceptional. I always used to get that after my classes at Mt. Sac.
While I already graduated, and am no longer near that area, I would still stop by there if I was ever nearby.

My experience at this particular location was awesome! The staffs are attentive and engaging.
I ordered the Udon combination and almond milk tea. The udon was salter than what I am used to but I still enjoyed the food and took the leftover home.
As I was finishing up my leftover udon this morning, I found a bug on my plate. Food safety and handling is basic fundamental to any restaurants. I am beyond gross out and will probably never return to this particular location. Make sure you pay close attention to what’s on your plate when you eat there.

I’ve come to this location frequently, and they have never disappointed. Decided to show off my «soon-​to-​be» LA resident friend my favorite foodie spots, this of course being one of my favorite boba spots.
The boba is a hit or miss, sometimes it’s perfectly sweetened with the right amount of bite to it, and sometimes, it falls short of amazing. My go-​to drink is the black sugar milk icee with big boba and egg pudding. In the past, I’ve also ordered food from here and they do NOT disappoint.
If you’re ever in Walnut, stop on by! There’s plenty of parking and it’s right off the 60 FWY.

My go-​to place for boba milk tea and popcorn chicken. Being able to call in my order makes it so convenient, and also being able to skip the line to pickup makes it even better.

It took 10 minutes for my wife to order a simple drink and then it took them 35 minutes for her to get it. Other people came after her and they got their drinks before she did. This is unacceptable and unprofessional. The orders should be first come first serve. But, she was not. It just shouldn’t take 45 minutes for a drink, unbelievable. TERRIBLE SERVICE and not even an apology… I do not recommend this place and it looks there is preferential treatment for certain people to be served first. Date 4÷12÷2016 4:19:12 PM

I come here to study from time to time, but it is a little loud. It is a great place to hangout with friends and chat.
Venue: the restaurant has great lighting and it is pretty clean.
Customer service: they are pretty nice and very hospitable.
Their drinks are okay. I order their black coffee which is actually not bad. My friends order their milk tea with boba and pudding. They seem to enjoy it.
I typically order their chicken filet, but it tastes like it was frozen and reheated.
Overall, I would recommend coming here with friends just to kick it.

Leaving 3 stars — hopefully this will get the attention of the manager to improve on the service. I’ve been coming to this Ten Ren and other locations for many years. Overall, the service at this Ten Ren is the worst. Most of the workers don’t smile and are not friendly. If you want to dine in and wait for a seat, 9 out of 10 times the workers at the back just look at you and nobody wants to come and assist. It’s like they don’t want to do anything or they have no idea what’s going on. They really don’t know what customer service is. I’ve also found this to be a repeated pattern with other customers too. They need to at least acknowledge or come to the customers and ask «how many?» or say «I’ll be right with you» while customers are standing behind the «please wait to be seated» sign, instead of not doing anything.
On the bright side, a short haired employee named Phoebe really stepped up to her game the other day and provided excellent service while attending to all the customers. It’s like a breath of fresh air. But I feel bad for her because she’s probably doing more than her share since the other employees are just slacking while she does most of the work. Hopefully the manager can retrain the employees on customer service and commend the ones that really do a great job. I’ve noticed this location is not as busy as few years ago, not sure if it’s because of the lacking service.

My visit at this Ten Ren on ³⁄₈ was horrible. My coworker went there during lunch hour. First, we waited 20 mins for a sit. The waiter found us a table outside. Then, after we made our order, we waited another 30 min for the food. The food came but not fully cooked. We order Hotpot, so we asked the waiters why there was no heat warmers for the hotpot. The waiter told us because we are sitting outside and for safety reasons the hotpot came without heat warmer. We were upset because why didn’t they waiters communicate this to us when we were making the orders. Now we were stuck with cold soup.
The whole lunch took us almost 2 hrs. No one can have that luxury to have 2 hrs lunch. I’m not complaining of if I was intended to take long lunch, but the time (50 min) was wasted on waiting on a uncooked meal. I go to Ten Ren a lot but the service for this day was unacceptable.

Waited 15 – 20 minutes for my to-​go order of grapefruit green tea. The female cashier wasn’t very friendly. Because it’s a small space inside, the other customers (around 5 – 6) and I didn’t have very much room to wait for our drinks. There was one employee making the drinks, one at the cashier, and the other three just seemed to be standing around. Like other Ten Ren locations, everything is overpriced. The only things I liked about this place was how the menu looked and the temperature of my drink; the taste was ok. I would not come back to this location again; the wait time was unacceptable.

I am updating my review & now basing my review on the food @ Ten Ren Tea Time! I don’t get the 3 stars & lower reviews which is unfortunate. The food was really good in my opinion! We ordered several dishes along with an appetizer! Everything was well cooked with the right amount of flavor & most importantly all the food was served piping hot which I love & which how food should be served!
I originally ordered the fried fish fillet, but the waiter informed me they were out. He recommended the Beef Noodle Soup & it was delish! The beef was tender & it was good! Just the right amount of spice & flavor, I really liked how they give you a side of pickle/​radish like garnish to go with your soup. The house fried rice was fluffy & it was really good! My nephew ordered the popcorn chicken with rice & the popcorn chicken was super crispy & crunchy! We also ordered the Three Flavor Chicken which had lots of garlic in it. Lastly the crispy tofu was bomb especially when you dip it in the sauce they provide.
I will definitely come back & try the Fried Fish Fillet dish since it looks good on the menu. I highly recommend coming to Ten Ren to eat & to drink their amazing boba milk tea. I’ve said this in my previous review, their boba milk tea is absolutely the bomb & is the only place I get my boba! Keep serving your amazing milk tea along with your yummy food! :-D

Wow nearly waited 10 min for my almond milk tea. I was the 2^nd person to order drinks. Why so long?

Ten Ren is one of the original transplants of tea shops from Taiwan and this specific branch has been here for quite some time. Although difficult to access at time due to a busy parking lot, there is usually space inside the restaurant to catch up with friends and get some studying in.
The price for their teas are not outrageous, and the quality of your drink relatively remains the same, meaning there’s not much variability between how each barista makes their drinks.
I highly recommend their milk tea, a golden oldie that never fails to deliver. For those who walk on the other side they have various milk tea and fruit based teas as well. Make sure to sample the tea they have in the back counter which is at full sweetness. This will give you a good idea of how sweet you want your drink to be.
Drinking tea is like anything else, you have to be a Goldilocks and finds what works best for you. This is a great spot to find that out, and a great enviroment to do so with helpful and friendly staff. If the parking wasn’t such a hassle, I’d visit more.

Always was and always will be a huge fan of Ten Rens! I love what they offer and the best is their boba. They have always been consistent with drink flavors and customization and can’t thank them enough!

This is the first Ten Ren that I have been to that wasn’t more of a tea shop than a boba shop.
Drink menu wise, it looked the same as other TenRen locations. Prices were pretty standard, so no surprise there. On this visit, I only got a drink (plum green tea w/​aloe) so I don’t know about the food quality here. It was not a busy Saturday night when I went, but I felt like I waited longer than I should have for my drink… :(
Good for a boba fix if I was in the area.

I love boba. Had ten rens before in the past at their other locations. This branch is located in the village, which is a little hang out spot for college students.
Was craving boba when I was at the village and bought some. A little thing about this place that’s different from other boba shops is that there is an option to sit down and order from a menu with a wait or or waitress taking your orders which is something I wouldn’t expect a boba shop to do. But anyway saw that this business is active on Unilocal since I saw a Unilocal sign in their store so I decided to check in and boom. Saw that I got an offer to upgrade to a large from a regular drink. I ordered almond green milk tea with boba. And also they accept plastic! Which is a bonus, nowadays I don’t really carry cash around with me and just use my cards to pay and I do know that there are boba shops that only accept cash or you have to have a minimum amount such as $ 10 to use card. But this place there isn’t which was good.
Their almond milk tea was good. I could easily taste the green tea as well as the almond flavor to it which was yummy. It’s a little sweet on the flip side but not that sweet to the point where I can’t drink it. Their boba is pretty soft and chewy as well and yummy too.
Will go back to ten rens if I’m near one.

Its kinda cool on how much milk/​sweetner/​ice you can have in your drink! (kind of like starbuck? but in a tea way!)

Service here is mediocre, which is why I’m docking a star from what I would have rated. The service is inattentive to the point that I would rather order to-​go and eat outside than to be serviced — though I have to admit that it is not always terrible, but, for the most part, it usually is.
Gets crowded during lunch hours, so food and drinks can take a while for preparation. If you get drinks, don’t forget to get stamps for your card because they will often forget to ask. I usually order the milk tea icees or milk tea boba, which are usually always perfect. For food, I usually get takoyaki, beef noodle soup, or fried rice, which are also good. So, no complaints about food and drinks (quality-​wise).
Service is lacking here. It’s not that they are rude and disrespectful, but, rather, forgetful and and absorbed in something else. It’s the closest Ten Ren’s to my parents’ house, so convenience is the only reason I go to this Ten Ren as opposed to the ones in Rowland Heights or LA.
