I think there is a big problem when business became too big or too popular. Then, they start forgetting basic rules of etiquette. I really hope that Sunrise doesn’t fall prey to this fault. I have been going to sunrise for a few years now about 7 years. The last two times, I have a terrible experience with one of the waitress her name is Alice, skinny, and prone to make gestures with her face. She showed up with our breakfast(my husband and I, by the way my husband is 65 and I am 55) her hands were so full with tree different plates in each hand and coffee in each hand. When I saw that, I felt she was going to drop everything on the table so by reflex I reach out to help her. Because it was too many plates and she was having difficulty putting on the plate. After I did this, she said to me yelling out loud and visible upset that I have come to help her. HEY! I AM A PROFFESIONALWAITRESS” My husband felt upset but controll himself, and I felt so humiliated by being yelled when I was trying to help her. After that incident, when when we walk in to have breakfast she averts our eyes, the next waitress that took care of us. A really tall blond woman that seemed in such a hurry that she barely missed my husband head with the coffee pot, which she will pour wihtout even asking us. She barely missed my husband head with the hot crystal pot. Later, I saw Alice, and this new waitress talking to each other and looking at our table gossiping. I hope that the owner Joe Stein takes note, that perhaps He should promote the nice and humble spanish speaking guys working liftting up the plates.

Not good mall location and frumpy interior are balanced by OK food that is at least organic? Pros: Lots of parking(its in a strip mall for Pete’s sake!), big interior space, energetic wait staff, organic ingredients. Cons: Dismal interior in a low ceiling mall space with lousy bathrooms, food and cooking is decent but not exceptional. Some of the menu items are good and interesting, like my partner loves that they offer roasted vegetables as a side order. Once I had their soup and salad, clam chowder, which was slightly better than average and satisfying. Lots of families, noise, bustle, a busy place which bodes well. Just needs a makeover!

First time visit this past week. Food was good but service not very hospitable. I actually felt like I was bothering host & server. I was alone for lunch so I asked for small bar table and host directed me to the counter so I asked again if I could use a bar table right behind us. He said«if you want a table, sure» while controlling his annoyance. The server was equally a joy, no hello or welcome, just what would you like. Someone else brought my lunch and never saw my server until she dropped off the check with no «would you like anything else or thank you». It took 10 minutes for another server to notice I had paid check and was waiting for change. Yes, I could have said something but I think this sends more of a powerful message. I will eventually try them again as my lunch was good and we all have our off days.

My family and I have been coming here for many years. Especially on Sundays because free pastries!!! We were also able to see the healthy transition that Sunrise Bistro made. My mom and I came in Thursday morning to grab the most important meal of the day before I went to class. It was busy but fortunately we were seated immediately. Our waitress(whose name escapes me) was very sweet and attentive. My mom and I had a fairly complicated order because we like our eggs on different ends of the spectrum. My mom likes her eggs harder, while I like mine runnier. When my eggs first came out, they were closer to the raw side. And our waitress was more concerned than I was. Which is why she took them back with without a problem. It was unbelievable how nice our waitress was because how can anyone be so cheery in the early morning? I need at least 12 oz of coffee to even be approachable. Along those same subject lines, they did not skimp on the coffee refills. Which leads to a very happy Sandra. What else made a very happy Sandra is that the food was very delicious! The berry compote was bursting with flavor and paired well with the side of yogurt we ordered. We also ordered a side of whole wheat toast dry and the wow factor was off the charts. It could be because the words«homemade bread» was mentioned. Once it was getting close to my class session starting, my mom and I paid our bill and it was under $ 22, not including the tip. It’s unbelievable that a restaurant can be healthy, reasonably priced, and have such a great atmosphere! Sunrise Bistro will definitely be a go-to before-class breakfast, post-class lunch or weekend brunch.

Food here is very good, but it can get very packed very quickly, and on weekdays it seems like the service is less attentive(even though it’s less busy).

Had the make your own omelet with a side of beans and potatoes. Was excellent! My husband got the tofu scramble which was a tad bland. The pot of tea was refreshing and the waiting staff was pleasant and attentive. On the pricey side, but would definitely go again!

It’s not easy finding a place where my family can all be happy with their meals. This is our go to place for breakfast or brunch. I typically get a more traditional breakfast and its always great. The rest of my family like to eat breakfast burritos, oatmeal, pancakes etc. Its all here and its always been good. The service is friendly and fast. And the prices are outstanding. 59 bucks not including tip for 4 people is a bargain. I only take away the one star because their coffee is only so-so. Other than that, I highly recommend coming here.

Food and service are first rate, portions are large and plated thoughtfully. Fresh, delicious, and not heavy-handed, in the dishes we tried, the kitchen lets the ingredients speak for themselves. The veggie frittata was perfect– packed with vegetables and finished with a sprinkling of sharp Romano cheese and fresh tomato slices. The wait staff is friendly, efficient, professional– totally on their game. I’ll absolutely go back and not just for breakfast– you can tell this kitchen is killing it.

So after reading the many glowing reviews and tales of lines and packed lobbies I decided to try Sunrise. As is my tradition when I try a restaurant for the first time I order their hit. The reviewers spoke lovingly of the corned beef hash plate and it’s their most expensive breakfast at $ 13. I grew up on Hormel Corned Beef hash and LOVEDIT. I would open the can of pink and white mashed up meat stuff and then spend 20 minutes trying to crisp it til it looked like the picture on the label. My taste have matured greatly since then. Now the thought of eating that makes me nauseous and I have since been treated to great hash here and abroad. For example, Marvin’s in Novato has made their reputation on hash and it’s well deserved… Sunrise is no Marvin’s. The hash here is slices of what look like deli meat cut into 1/8″ paper thin confetti. The potatoes are simply their breakfast potatoes quickly combined before plating. The dish is not cohesive or lovingly made and there were several burnt bits. My tea was served in a proper pot but the glass mug quickly cools… because it’s glass… quickly making it lukewarm. The lemon was cut as if for a Long Island vs English Breakfast Tea. So I had to get lemon juice all over my hands or drop the slice into my mug. The highlight of my meal was the Texas cut herb toast which should have been buttered before being brought out because it too was not piping hot but had great flavor. My return is unlikely.

The corned beef hash is fantastic. I recommend getting it with half regular potatoes and half sweet potatoes, mmmmm… They also give you free bread pudding and some sort of spice cake with chocolate chips, both of which are fantastic. Best bread pudding I’ve ever had.

The food here is good definitely above average. Nothing really wowed me. I got the corn beef hash, it was good the bread was too thick form my liking it was also over toasted. The apple sauce was really good and home made, I took a bit of my kids they really enjoyed it. The waitress we had was extremely nice and fast.

The fact that I can go out for breakfast and not feel guilty is definitely a plus! Super fresh ingredients and organic options! This café offers indoor/outdoor seating plus a full bar area. It’s located in a strip mall so there’s available parking as well. I’ve been coming here for breakfast and lunch on and off for the past 10 years or so. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day so with all of the options offered you’ll surly find something to suit your pallet. Today I went with create your own omelet, two part egg white, one part egg, filled it with veggies: broccoli, zucchini bell peppers plus jack cheese with a side of chicken apple sausage and whole grain yogurt pancake. The mixed berry compote is the perfect sweet ending. The syrup comes out fresh to your table and warm.(I hate when restaurants leave condiments on the table) For lunch try the turkey french dip with a side if pesto pasta salad. Thank me later.

I found this place accidentally because the place I was planning to go had closed down. What a great find !! Healthy wholesome food that tasted great ! I had the chicken and roasted vegetable salad and it was a nice change from a lettuce salad. This is definitely a place to be for a healthy, delicious meal !

Really great spot for brunch in Walnut Creek! Food: What did I order again? I made so many substitutions I cannot even remember. I had some green moroccan tea that was amazing, they serve it with biscotti in the cutest teapot ever. I had the whole grain yogurt pancakes, egg whites and a fruit cup. You know the pancakes are healthy, NSA and no fat added! I was super happy with them, they were not dry at all, like most whole grain pancakes. Very flavorful, tender and fluffy. They were served with a berry campote that was a bit on the sweet side, so be careful when using these. Egg whites and fruit were both tasty and fresh. I wanted a healthier brunch meal and that’s exactly what I got! Service: I am bad. I can never stick to what is on the menu, I always have to substitute one thing for another, add this, remove that. Usually get a bit of a mug when I do this, but my server was super accommodating. Sweetest server I’ve ever had. She was so nice and gave me options for my substitutions. The price was great for all the subs I made. I couldn’t be any happier with the service. Ambiance: Huge restaurant, long lines on weekends, but the line moves fast. Loud inside, tons of families with children, but you’re still able to hold a conversation with your party. Price: Not bad at all, I think my meal was about $ 12.00, maybe $ 16.00 including my hot tea. Healthy meal, good quality, flavorful and large portions… that’s a real steal if you ask me. Overall: I like this place a lot. Service was exception, price was okay and food was great. I’ll definitely be coming back.

I was pleasantly surprised to see the place was CRAZY packed both in their outdoor seating and indoors on a Sunday morning with a line of people waiting for seating because I knew we were in for some good food. I love that their committed to «from scratch» cooking, Community Grains, and that all their meats & dairy are antibiotic– and hormone-free and are vegetarian-fed…including serving only Mary’s free-range chicken. They’re a little pricier for breakfast than most, but the fact that they’re using healthier, better quality ingredient totally justifies the extra couple dollars per dish. Our order: –Luke’s omelette with egg whites, sides of bacon and potatoes –Cinnamon french toast –Side of chicken apple sausage –Latkes Pretty good: –Luke’s Omelette: loaded with ham, cheese, avocado. Only gripe is that the avocado was all smooshed before putting it into the omelette; it made it all warm instead of being a great cool element. Okay: –Cinnamon french toast: Like the thickness, but would have enjoyed more of a sugary crust. Other than the cinnamon swirls, it’s pretty standard. Not to order again: –Latkes: these were unfortunately thick, dry, and bland. The sour cream helped, and I actually loved the house made super chunky apple sauce. In fact, I’d probably eat a cup of that over the latkes again. Service was sweet and upbeat and I like the ultra casual vibe with sports on TV… I’ll totally be back to give them a try for lunch.

Looking for breakfast that’s not McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s or whatever frozen food option that might be in your freezer? Then Sunrise Bistro & Catering is the place you’ve been looking for! The line is typically long right when they open and dies down towards lunch hours(open daily 7AM-3PM). Their food selection is great for breakfast lovers and portion sizes are more than enough to fill you up for an early dinner! I’ve had a few of their omelettes with both sides being sausage and also tried their breakfast burrito which was delicious with their homemade salsa. All in all, great place to eat! Definitely recommend to any breakfast food lover.

I was really hyped to try this spot for brunch for a really long time. But this place is honestly mediocre. I ordered a bistro breakfast sandwich and it was average. I also had herb toast, which is one of their most popular items, but I didn’t see anything special about it. Expect at least a twenty minute wait for brunch on the weekends here! –Kristen 3 stars from Kristen. Edmund still wasn’t with me today to rate.

Solid breakfast place. Lines aren’t bad if you plan ahead and avoid busy times. Food was outstanding and the service was great. I got a build your own omelette with sausage, spinach, and scallions. Add to that home fries and marble rye toast. My better half got yogurt pancakes, scrambled eggs, and breakfast sausage. The portions were great. The omelette was perfectly cooked. It bordered a scramble, which made it perfect for an omelette sandwich(not like those other places where it’s stuff just folded in an egg that falls all over the place!). The pancakes came with berries and tasted great. All in all, this place leaves you satisfied!

I am a sucker for brunch. No matter where I am or what food I’m craving, breakfast food always wins. Sunrise Bistro was first introduced to me back in December — we were supposed to eat here for a friend’s birthday brunch, but the wait was too long and we were on a time crunch! Lucky for me, I was able to get seated on a different occasion to see what all the fuss is about! Coming at 2pm on a Monday worked out perfectly. I ordered the broccoli and cheddar quiche with a side of fresh fruit. At first glance, I wasn’t expecting my order to fill me.(I usually like to see A LOT of food). But the portion size turned out to be just right and the quiche was lite leaving me with no regrets(in regards to feeling so full and hating myself after) ! I would love to stop by another time to try their potato pancakes as that seems to be a crowd pleaser.
