I have had excellent service and care from the Stanford Children’s Clinic in Emeryville. However my experience with the Walnut Creek has been less than stellar. Just trying to contact a dietician to make sure she received a requested email was met by two rude receptionists. I was told the dietician couldn’t even speak with me to confirm that she received the email because that was considered a phone consultation. What a bureaucracy! No thanks. I can get better service through Children’s Hospital in Oakland.

We have been here twice to see Dr. Weiss-Ishai, she has been fantastic for my 15 year old. Tamika and marisol work the the front desk and are always so welcoming and friendly. David was the medical assistant and was really good with shots. My daughter and I have been really happy with this office. And i work in the medical field so I’m usually very judgmental about doctor’s offices. Thanks for taking such good care of my kid

My cousin from overseas who does not speak much English needed to take his 11-year-old to get a polio shot and a physical. He was referred to Stanford by someone from the school so on Sept 11, 2015, he went. They charged him $ 576 and he called me because he thought the amount was rather high. I called them on his behalf and it took them 8 days and 3 phone calls to finally locate the patient. They admitted that they overcharged him $ 297.14 and said something about insurance being the reason. My cousin paid them with a credit card. Insurance was not even involved. So I ask the woman to send my cousin a check for the amount. She said was going to take 30 days or more. She then said she could not guarantee the amount, whether it will be a check or a credit back into his account, or how long it would take. «Probably more than 30 days,» was her response. I would expect an apology after overcharging a patient by more than double but none was offered. She made it sound like she was doing me a favor. Way to take advantage of someone who doesn’t speak the language, Stanford! Also, if I had never called, no refund would have been issued. If I were you, I WOULDNEVERTAKEMYCHILDHERE. If their customer service is an indication of their medical services, I wouldn’t be surprised if my child left there in worse condition than when he first walked in. I bet that woman never even processed the refund. I’m going to call back in a few days to confirm. They need to treat that woman for incompetence. Hopefully it doesn’t spread to the rest of their staff.

My son was referred to Stanford Children Health by his primary care physician. After being seen by the doctor we were advised that she felt my son needed an MRI. The front desk staff was to request insurance approval. It’s been a week with no update so I called to inquire and was told that the person who handles authorizations was on vacation and I would have to wait until she returned. I repeat«My son’s health has to wait for an employee to return from vacation.» Obviously this office does not put patient care first. Still swollen, still injured and waiting for staff to return from vacation…
