Sora Oh Stylist

She is one of the greatest hair stylist I’ve met! She gave me numerous good advices on how to style my hair. She was like a magician when she turned my bowl cut into a stylish hair cut. Would definitely recommend to anyone who needs a haircut!

This is my mom first time did hair cut and perm with Miss Sora. She is very nice and kind. We didn’t expect she can handle my mom’s hair so well since my mom has really soft hair we already know it. Every time she went perm her hair, it never stay longer and shows volume. She took 3 hours to take care of my mom’s hair and my mom really like it. We defiantly will come again.

My mom got a perm and I got a haircut. We both love our new hairstyles! I didn’t really know what I wanted but she was great! I will go back again!

I managed to make appointment an hour before, which is nice. She’s really good and professional, makes me feel like she realy understands what she’s doing. I got a haircut and retone my hair color, and is very satisfied with the result. The waiting time can be a bit long because of the amount of customer, but she gives me a nice service. Price wise is affordable too!

I came in for a digital perm and am absolutely in love with my hair!!! They really took the time to make sure the curls were done right based on my face shape and hair texture. I didn’t ask for anything specific and just let Sora do her thing (not something I would ordinarily recommend, but she’s AMAZING). The other lady working there was also extremely nice; she frequently offered me food and water and made sure that I was comfortable.
The procedure takes about 3 hours.
Things to note:
I permed my hair because I have extremely heavy and straight hair that has zero volume. When my hair is permed, I spend about 5 min to fix/​twirl the strands closest to my face (once my hair has dried from showering). I apply a moisturizing conditioner to the lower portion of my hair to prevent drying during my shower, but that’s about it. Sora did mention that I should be treating my hair at home to extend the life of the curls – you might want to inquire about that, as I don’t recall exactly what the treatment is.

Got my first digital perm today by Sora Oh. I have to say, all the reviews about her were right, she really knows what she’s doing. I have no complaints, the service was great, my hair looks great. I’m in love with my new hair! I will definitely go back and get my digital perm from Sora.

I made an appointment at 7. when i got there Sora told me she got 4 more people before me. I waited for a hour she told me theres still one more. I mean whats the point of making an appointment if i still gotta wait for so long? WORST experience everr

I have very thick, somewhat coarse hair and on top of that I’m really picky on how I want my hair to be cut.
However, this is not a problem for Sora Oh.
You can really tell right off the bat that she cares about her customers. Her bubbly personality never fails to brighten up the mood and she always keeps a smile on her face. It’s obvious that she loves her job, and that’s only the tip of the iceberg.
When she cuts hair, you can sense that she has full control of her sheers; her skill is nearly impeccable. I feel comfortable pretty much the whole time and that really says something about this stylist. She not only manages to cut well, but really exerts full effort into replicating what style you are trying to achieve. To me, that’s a talent.
If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I HIGHLY recommend giving her a shot. She might even end up being your go-​to stylist. Go Sora! :-)

Ive been getting hair cut from her for last 5 years. What I love about her is that she does listens to her customers and works ask requested. I have done some cuts with others, but often they think they are good and they go against customers needs thinking their styles are better. I personally see them as arrogant because styles are very personal, but Sora is definately NOT one of those. She respects her customers’s styles and she does not show excessive pride in her skills.
Last five years, there was one time when I did not like how my hair looked. I called and talked to her and she asked me to come over to fix what I did not like about. Then she took care of the issues I had free of charge. She has great customer service.
I give 5 stars for her.

I found Sora through Unilocal because of her reviews. I’ve gone to her three times and she executes every time! She is soooooo nice and accommodating. I’ve gone to A LOT of salons and I never leave satisfied. She gives her honest opinion and tells you what is best and less damaging for your hair. Usually when I go get my hair done by other people I get super nervous and anxious because they might mess up my hair but it’s not the case with Sora. I trust her 100% with my hair. She’s a bit on the pricey side but she is defiantly WORTH IT!

I found Sora on Unilocal thanks to her great reviews. I’m so happy I listened to them! I just moved here from Virginia and I needed a new hair stylist. I’m pretty picky about my haircuts since my hair can be quite difficult. It’s been rare for me to love my hair right after a cut, it usually has to grow on me. Hah. I can honestly say that I loved my hair the moment I walked out of the salon. Needless to say I’ll be coming to Sora for all my future hair needs.

Just got my haircut today, and this is the best haircut that I got in the US so far. Sora understand what I want and do exactly like I want. The only thing that she cut really fast like she was rushing, I was bit worried that she didnt take her time enough to do my hair. I am glad she made sure that my hair is even and style my hair the way I want it to be. Overall, it is a good experience and I will be coming back.

I moved from LA area to bay area and had a hard time to find a right stylist since then. Someone recommended Sora, so I tried. I was so much satisfied with her service. Not only that she knows how to cut hair as what her customer wants, she really takes care of them. I love how she treats her customers. Now, I am stick with her and won’t go back to any other stylists.

I moved to the bay area early 2014. Being an Asian dude, it is tough finding a hair stylist to help give me a good haircut. Thankfully, my wife found Sora on Unilocal and we gave her a shot. I’ve been back ever since.
Sora is very capable of designing the right hairstyle to fit your profile. I really like that I could just sit there & she’ll know what’s right for me, given the basic criteria that I provided her (i.e. short hair or long). It is such a pleasant experience knowing that there is a detail-​oriented hair stylist that you can trust.
Recently, my wife and I went to Sora to help us style our hair for our wedding. She did an excellent job bringing out the best of us and helped my wife put on her veil (it is a very complex process). The veil stayed on the entire time and we loved the hair style that she created for us.
All in all, I’ll be going back to her as long as she’s in business & I would recommend her to anyone I know.

I’ve been through so many salons near Walnut creek but it was hard to find someone who’s extra experienced in Asian Hair.
I live in Walnut Creek so I had to always drive far to San Jose to get my hair done since San Jose has many Asian hair dressers.
I found Sora through many of my friends referral. I’ve heard so much that she’s very experienced and always gives good advice on hair styles.
Since its summer, I decided to get balayage/​ombré color on my hair. However, i’ve heard and seen so many bad balayge/​ombré done on people’s hair, and the fact that I’ve never dyed my hair before, I was extra careful on picking the hairdresser to rely my hair on. During the phone consultation, Sora gave me so many advices on balayge style on my hair and she told me to just trust her, and I did.
The result was more than satisfying! The color came out great and the color mixture on my hair was beautiful. The hair is not damaged and it still looks healthy. Sora also recommended and gave me detail list of hair treatment product that can keep my hair look healthy. I’ve heard so many compliments around about my hair.
I will never regret the money I spent for Sora’s service and I’m very happy I finally found my regular hairdresser!
I will be referring my friends to Sora. :-)

Just moved here 2 weeks ago in need of a haircut. Found her through Unilocal and I couldn’t be happier! I have gone to many, many Korean stylists. You tell them what you want and then do it their own way! But Sora actually listens. She even showed me some pictures to make sure it is what I wanted, and gave me suggestions on styles. My hair looks better than it has looked in a long time! Can’t wait to be back!
